There is a salsa bar-but I didn't like any of the salsas. I thought they were all just 'hot' and no flavor. If you're in the area, please check this place out. You will be delighted by its culinary offering!…read more I've tried the food here before [family members brought me some], but over the weekend was the first time I had ever gone to the business myself. The restaurant is rather large, I thought it was larger than your typical taqueria. Tables and floors were clean. Easy to navigate one's way through to the counter and then to whatever table you choose. Luckily, I had arrived before the place got too busy, so I had no wait in line and no fight at the salsa bar where I got my chips and salsa. They have spicy, mild, a type of crema, etc. And they all are tasty! Who doesn't love a salsa bar? I had ordered the Birria Taco Meal, which includes 2 tacos [I could've eaten 4-5 easily], rice and beans and guacamole, pickled onion and lime. The food was hot, fresh from the kitchen, and I wolfed it down not long after it had landed on my table from the server. Rice and beans were nicely seasoned, the guacamole was smoother than what I'm used, but nothing bad about it concerning the taste. I love pickled onions, the vinegary taste works for me! The tacos were crunchy, and the meat inside was tender and juicy. That was the best part about my experience: the food! And the worst? The fact that they have a loaded menu and that I couldn't order more items because I was full. The food here is just phenomenal! I left feeling satisfied and with a strong desire to return again. If only I lived closer to Gridley!

The reason we stopped coming is because they used to have a really rude waitress ( Spanish lady ). It was so refreshing to see upbeat employees! MELEE waited on me and she was AWESOME! I remembered her from another restaurant that closed a few years ago. Still hard working and friendly! I ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas. It came with tortillas and rice and beans with sour cream. The steak had a really nice sear on it! The shrimp was grilled perfectly! Plenty of peppers and onions as well! DELICIOUS! They also have a full bar with additional seating at the bar. Although no outdoor seating the restaurant is very spacious! I had a great experience and I will definitely be back soon!! I also bought a children's beef enchilada from the childs menu with rice and beans to go! Ps. Free complimentary chips and salsa and bean dip

A friend and I were headed to an MMA event just north of Oroville and needed a quick bite to eat,…read moreso pulled off and hit Yelp to find something good in the area. Vallarta Grill looked like a good option so we headed over. This was a Saturday evening (about 6pm)... they were busy, but had no trouble seating us within a couple minutes (the host had to duck out to clean the booth for us). The menu is very complete - lots of options! It was honestly tough to make a choice. I chose the Lamb Shank, which included an enchilada. I was given the choice of ground beef, shredded beef or chicken for the enchilada. I asked if I could somehow upgrade to a shrimp enchilada and was politely declined. My date chose the chile verde. I also ordered coconut shrimp as an appetizer. First up was the coconut shrimp - first impression: I was surprised at how "flat" they were! Obviously it was intentional, but flatter than anything I've seen or had before. I jokingly called them "road kill shrimp" and my date slapped me. They were good, though, and I understood and appreciated the reason(s) for flattening them - more surface area for the breading, even cooking and easy to scoop up the yummy sauce. Next up were the main dishes - the Lamb Shank was good... imo, I would have liked the sauce to be a little thicker, but the flavor was good. I really liked the enchilada too. I didn't have a ton of the rice and beans just because I normally don't eat much of that - but it was good, better than I've had elsewhere! I had a bite of my friend's chile verde too and give it a thumbs up. I love flan. I was full enough that I didn't need to order flan, but I couldn't leave without giving the flan a try. I'm glad I did! The flan was very good, some of the best I've had in a while. Overall, great meal and I wouldn't hesitate to drop by again if I was in the area.
