I've tried the food here before [family members brought me some], but over the weekend was the first time I had ever gone to the business myself. They have spicy, mild, a type of crema, etc. And they all are tasty! Who doesn't love a salsa bar? I had ordered the Birria Taco Meal, which includes 2 tacos [I could've eaten 4-5 easily], rice and beans and guacamole, pickled onion and lime. The food was hot, fresh from the kitchen, and I wolfed it down not long after it had landed on my table from the server. Rice and beans were nicely seasoned, the guacamole was smoother than what I'm used, but nothing bad about it concerning the taste. I love pickled onions, the vinegary taste works for me! The tacos were crunchy, and the meat inside was tender and juicy. That was the best part about my experience: the food! And the worst? I came in on Tuesday evening about 8pm. I ordered 3 tacos no onions and beans and rice. I received my food with onion. Very politely I let the waitress know that I had asked for no onions on my tacos, she responded "yes I remember"and that she thought she wrote it down on the ticket to the cook. She double checked the ticket and yes she did let the Cook know that the order was with no onion. She took my plate back to the cook and asked for new tacos and he proceeded to pick a portion of the onions out and just put more salsa to cover the rest of the onions. When she brought the plate back I considered eating the tacos but the onions were just too strong. The employees were watching me the whole time and I could see them talking to each other. I was still hungry so it was obvious they weren't gonna do anything for me so I ordered another plate the exact same way as I ordered the first ones and emphasize no onions please. They brought me the new plate with no onions and I ate it and it was very good. But no one offered to refund me for the other plate that was sitting on the table next to me. I called Ramon the next day and never received a return call. I will still go back but I'm hoping they see this ad refund my money next time. So overall the food what they got it right was very good the ambience is a normal Mexican restaurant with the cooks drinking beer in the back near closing time and I just believe the service was shit that night. We are from southern Cali and let me tell you this place is legit!! These guys serve up some of the largest shrimp cocktails I've seen for a bargain at $12.95. I also tried the Chabala which is a beer of your choice with shrimp juice in it. Yumm. Spice that thing up with some tapatio and bam!
