They took the time to bring one of the oldest homes in Derry back to life. And the end result is awesome. Plus there is plenty of outdoor seating and free wifi! I would love to see this place thrive. I'd give it zero if I could. Second time here and same thing happened. Bunch of 15 year olds running the place... We placed our order two breakfast wraps, bottle of coke and an iced coffee( the coffee cup was filled to the brim with ice, very little liquid). We sat inside while we waited for the food portion of the order. People came in after, and got their food before us. After 30 minutes we asked how our order was coming. The girl asked what we ordered. "Two breakfast wraps" I said. She looked at the other girl and said,"Oh, no I don;t think it's been started yet. " I asked for a refund. I said they need to get their act together as this is the second time this has happened and that I would not be returning to this place. They needs some adults to run the place. read more

Food was Ok but service wasn't great. As we waited for our food and 2 people waited to give their order, 3 young employees chatted and shared pictures on their phones. They needed an 'adult' to keep them working. None of them cleaned tables in between guests either. read more

5 Star Establishment Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Customer service was exceptional. We received our order promptly. The quality of the food, while similar in price with most Starbucks around the area, was superior to the food one would receive at a chain like Starbucks. The owner, Gina, even stopped by our table to see how our food was and if we were pleased with the service/food. Very impressive establishment. Will definitely be returning soon. read more

The staff was super friendly even though we arrived pretty close to closing time. The menu options were great, and we got four crêpes in total during our visit; two sweet and two savory. This is my first time here and I absolutely love it!! They have CREPES and delicious coffee!! They have soy and coconut milk for non-dairy options instead of just almond milk! Highly recommend! The crew is so nice too, and the foam on my cappuccino had the correct peaks, it was tasty! One of the owners brought us our crepes and chatted for a bit, his names Terry and he was so nice. I just started drinking coffee at age 53 after realizing I do like espresso. So I have been trying lattes when I can. This place is great. Exceptional coffee This is, hands down, the best coffee in the area. The cold brew is amazing, and the recently added iced Columbian is also fantastic. Lattes, caps, chais and Americanos also totally on point. Great, unique food option for the area with the crepes - I've never had them, but I can tell you they look delicious and the plates are always cleaned by the people I'm with. Sandwiches and baked goods also available. Great atmosphere - the old house has a ton of charm, great original wood and exposed pipes. Comfy couch and even some porch seating. A three-star review doesn't mean that this place is A-OK in my opinion. I'm hoping that once they work out the kinks in service and maybe the recipes, their offerings will be better. I brought my entire family there to be wowed by a new cafe with the promise of great coffee and food. I was pretty disappointed. The crepes were on the thick side and doughy--heavy, not the thin and crisp texture I expected. I ordered my daughter a mixed berry crepe and though it looked aesthetically beautiful, it didn't taste great. The cream cheese or whatever they put in it was a tad too salty, sort of like cream cheese but not exactly. I would have expected the cream cheese to have been mixed with sugar to make it more palatable. My daughter ate around the edges, mostly avoiding the filling. I ordered a ham, egg & cheese crepe, and that was lackluster as well. It was rather bland. I think that if it had come with a small salad with a vinaigrette that would have added greatly to the plate. My son gobbled up his egg and ham sandwich on an english. I ordered sausage and egg, but it took quite a while to get the sandwich, so I didn't want to return it and wait that much longer. Lastly, my iced coffe con arequipe was alright. It wasn't the best cuppa that I've had, certainly wasn't the worst. My surprise was that the caramel was so thick, wasn't easy to suck up in a straw. We also ordered 2 of their cheese breads, pandebono, akin to Brazilian pao de queijo, and unfortunately, they were tasteless and dry. The coffee shop is well renovated and hip with a homey cozy vibe. Always such good food and amazing coffee. You can tell everything is fresh and the staff are always great! My family has made this our go-to place when we're all in town and it's one of the places I'll bring friends when their visiting because it's just got that great local coffee shop vibe. Very warm and welcoming. Love that they have outdoor seating (and you can bring your dog if you sit outside). They also support other local business with their bulletin. I feel bad leaving a bad review but believe Casa Java needs to deal with this issue. I went there for the first time on Saturday, August 7th arriving around 1:25, a little over a half hour before their posted closing time. We were told that the crepe machine was already shut down so we ordered breakfast bagels. We asked for coffee and was told that all the hot coffee was packed away in the refrigerator. Wow no coffee with a half hour of open time left for a place called Casa Java We waited for our bagels. A visitor came in and the staff spent time talking with this visitor. At one point, one asked the other about our bagels and was told she just heard them pop-up. Neither stopped the conversation with the visitor. We waited probably 4 or so minutes until finally the main talker asked the other to go complete our order. Our bagels were finally put on a bag. Whoa, what a great little cafe. Found it while visiting Derry for the day. Had a wonderful morning latte and muffin. Located in the first floor of a house, the place was well decorated. Liked it so much we came back for lunch and had spinach egg and cheese crepes. The crepe was light and fillings were tasty and just the right amount. I am unimpressed. The staff was not friendly. One major pet peeve I have with coffee shops is when you ask about BREWED flavored coffee and they tell you the syrups that they have. Syrups are sweet, brewed coffee is not. I had a horrible (unflavored) coffee that I ended up throwing out after a few sips, and a fruity nutella crepe that tasted like a cleaning product had fallen in the batter.
