Total disappointment, been going to this place for 25+ years , this place had good times and not such a good times , this time We came out very disappointed with the food portions and prices we got there just in time for the lunch special which we tough it should be good , we have not step in there for probably about a year or 2 but like I mention I been going there since they were located on Baldwin Park Blvd and corner of Merced that is at least 20 years +. The food just to be great , portions use to be very generous and price was good. The portions are ridiculously small , we got a chicken soup and a chile verde plate the chicken soup had 2 carrot slices, small piece of corn , small squash ,a small piece of potato , a half piece of thigh and lots of cabbage .... The chile verde plate had a spoon of rice , spoon of beans and spoon of pork on chile verde , the flavor of the food is good just the portions are not what they use to be for the price ... Me and my family have been coming here for ages and the food is always delicious and fresh. The service is always top notch, always making us feel like we're at home. After many years I have finally decided to try this restaurant. Son wanted to have Mexican food after church service, thankfully they serve seafood as well. There were enough parking spaces and it was free. As we stepped inside the strains of upbeat Mexican music can be heard then we were welcomed by the nice and friendly hostess. She invited us to sit anywhere we liked, then gave us the menus and complimentary chips and salsa. My son ordered the Huevos con steak (steak and eggs) he chose to have two eggs scrambled and it came with carne asada, rice and beans. Mom had the hot cakes and eggs- three fluffy hot cakes with two eggs cooked over hard. I chose the Camerones a la diabla. Red and green peppers, onions and hot sauce- was a little salty, just my personal preference. The shrimp were plump and juicy, not overcooked. Piping hot corn tortillas made fresh in house. The cafe de olla was bold and delicious. Their gender neutral restroom was clean and complete with a baby changing station than can be stowed up against the wall. read more

It's quite and peaceful in there for sure but I like it. It had a nice atmosphere. The owner is very nice and greets everyone at the door. You get seated quickly. The chips and salsa are to die for. The steak with rice and beans is always good. The pancakes are heaven. The aftertaste hits you and it's so good. The guacamole is also to die for. So good definitely recommend. read more

Went tonight and ordered a molcajete. Very tasty and the serving size was good. I brought home leftovers for tomorrow. The tomatillo sauce they use is very good. Wish it had a little kick. The rice is good. Beans are ok. I'm not a brand fan anyways. The sodas are 32oz with no refills. That soda is HUGE! I couldn't even finish 1/2 of it. Great service from what seemed to be the owner. I didn't see any other staff there. No waitresses. Pretty empty spot but it is a Wednesday and it was around 6 pm. Seems more like a weekend spot. Visiting from out of town for work so I stopped by and Ordered a breakfast burrito for my employees and I. The gentleman at the window accommodated my request for a hash brown, egg and cheese burrito. It's so simple yet it tastes so good! The guys really enjoyed their burritos as well. We definitely will be coming back to try other foods. No dine in at this time and by the looks of it they don't have any outside seating but I can tell this has to be one of the happening spots in town when all this lock down stuff goes away. read more

Little hole in the wall place on La Rica in Bolen. Had the huevos rancheros and coke for $7.50 it was very filling. The beans and rice that came with it tasted delicious and the flour tortillas were fresh made. I'll be back for sure. read more

The happy hour is amazing and the drinks aren't watered down. The food is good and affordable the only reason why I only rated it a 3 was because of the staff.
