I think this is the 4th time I've been here and I have never been disappointed. The food came out hot and the margaritas were fantastic. The service was great and friendly. I also ordered a to-go mega burrito that looks fantastic(not pictured). It was the special of the day and only $9! All the prices were fair and affordable. Salsa was on the spicy side but I loved it. I also ordered cheese dip and it was quite tasty. Their margaritas were so good, we ordered a pitcher of strawberry margarita on the rocks. Our bill didn't even total $60. Ordered via DoorDash. We ordered the quesabirrias & nachos fajitas. I regret not getting a picture of the fajitas, they're so tasty though! The onions & green peppers are so fresh & crisp still. We got a couple sides of sour cream but they seemed a bit off in a way I'm not sure how to explain. Kind of salty? The star of the show is definitely the quesabirrias. From out of town, we have visited here twice on Saturday evenings over the past year and have been very pleased both times. It is in downtown Muncie with primarily street parking from what I can tell, although there are some lots around also. When you enter, the indoor dining is to the left, with a bar separated off towards the front of the building and a mix of booths and tables to make up the primary dining space. To the right of the entrance, they appear to have outdoor dining for when the weather is pleasant. The service is prompt in both attentiveness to the table and delivery of the meals. The chips are strong but don't have much flavor while the salsa is soupy and also not our favorite, but we still happily eat them. They have a separate section on their menu devoted to vegetarians at very reasonable prices that we did on our previous visit (my wife tried the Chile Poblano ($11) and I did the Fajita Taco Salad ($11). This time we each decided to try the evening's special, the Burrito Bowl ($9) with shrimp (may have added $2, but I forgot to check the bill to verify). The bowl included rice, beans, cheese, guac, lettuce, and sour cream. We each said we would do it again. Wish this place was closer to us, we would be regulars. read more

Nothing will break the bank here and the portions are spot on. Maybe consider taking half home, but come on... you know yourself. The Poblano Chile stuffed with cheese is nothing short of amazing! Owner, Miguel is there no matter the time of day. He runs a very well staffed place and is friendly and attentive to customer needs. The bar area is small but quaint and offers a wide variety of Mexican beers, as well as a full range of hard alcohol too. Ok stopped in for dinner. Served 2 different salsas hot and mild, very plain. Chips are thick and have a good corn taste, get the cheese dip it's worth it very good. Casa Del Sol is a sister restaurant to Ciudad Colonial Mexican Restaurant. Casa is located in Downtown Muncie and is the best Mexican food in Central Indiana! Casa Del Sol offers delicious authentic Mexican food, from tacos to quesadillas, to fajitas to seafood, you can't go wrong! I recommend trying the Pollo Taluca, a grilled chicken breast covered in cheese sauce and chorizo, served with rice and beans. New restaurant located at former Restaurant 2 OH 4. The restaurant has been open for about a week. Very large dinner menu and the prices were quite reasonable. We had a Mexican foreign exchange student. She has eaten at about all the Hispanic venues in the area, and she thought she liked this one best. She said it seemed more authentic. She was alittle disappointed that the Chile Poblano was not made in the traditional green, white and red fashion, but other than that was pleased. She was able to get a Tamarind soda that she was fond of from home. The restaurant has been remodeled and nicely painted. Complimentary chips and salsa provided. Free refills on everything except specialty sodas. Entrees quite large. Four persons, non-alcohol drinks, total price $47.00. They do have a private room for parties. read more

Eaten here several times for lunch. Very busy as it's the newest place to eat downtown (plus limited options). The food is very good and served hot (temperature). I've tried several different entrees, and each has been very good. One warning, as you go into the restaurant, there is a slight step up in the floor. Why is this place getting so many great reviews? We went there on a Friday night, so it was busy-ish, but the service was absolutely horrible. No refills on drinks or chips, we had to ask for our check twice, there was no one at the cash register when we finally did get to pay for our meal... which wasn't that great, by the way. My carnitas were fatty and greasy; everyone else's portions were tiny. I'm not one of those people that needs to leave a restaurant stuffed to the gills, but for the prices, I would expect a little more substantial portions. It does have a pretty nice atmosphere and the margaritas and salsa were decent. I might come back for an appetizer and drinks, but that'd be the extent of it. read more

A friend and I tried this place for the first time this evening and were generally pleased: Food: We tried a variety of a la carte items, including Mexican rice, guacamole, a cheese enchilada, a tamale, and a quesadilla, and my friend had a classic Margarita on the rocks. The food was pretty good and, although we thought most items were a bit bland, our orders seemed much fresher than at a large competing Mexican restaurant chain in town. The guacamole, while again, very fresh, was the blandest I've ever had. I had to add salt and a spoonful of salsa. The rice, however, was heads above that served in other local Mexican places. Delicious! The chips were fresh, not greasy, and the salsa was thin, almost watery, but with a nice, tempered flavor, although I prefer it in individual ramekins rather than in one large bowl for the whole table. My friend did not comment on the quality of the margarita. Ambiance: The decor definitely says Mexican restaurant, but bright colors blended with more muted colors, warm wood, tasteful mural-style large paintings, and wrought-iron windows mounted on the walls lent a measure of elegance compared to other similar establishments. No sombreros on the walls here! A separate bar area looked as if it would provide a nice experience, while not disturbing those who choose to sit in the dining room. All of this provided a more elegant take on standard "Mexican" decor. Service: I stood near the sign that said "Please Wait to be Seated" for three minutes while several employees walked past me, causing me to think that perhaps seating was not organized by the staff until later in the evening (I arrived at 5 pm). Finally, someone did come to seat me, however. I had to tell three different people that I was expecting a second person in an effort to have a menu available for her when she arrived. Accessibility: Parking was readily available when I arrived, but later in the evening, I can imagine it would be different. Prices seemed very reasonable, and my friend noted that the items she ordered here were cheaper than at the main competing restaurant. There seems to be ample seating inside, suitable for groups. I did not notice a party room for privacy, but arrangements may be able to be made. Three-star rating is due to the blandness of the food and the fact that I was left standing waiting to be seated while employees walked right past me. Overall, a good experience, but I don't see myself driving downtown very often when I get a craving for Mexican food. read more

After being a fan of the owners original restaurant since it opened we were excited to hear they were opening Casa Del Sol downtown. Seems like it took forever for the doors to open but once they did we were not disappointed. Same great service and exceptional food no matter what you order. I can now schedule all my downtown meetings at Casa Del Sol and have had the pleasure of introducing many of my friends and associates to the best Mexican food I have eaten anywhere in the Midwest. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about what is on the menu, how it is prepared and can offer suggestions if you have specific likes or dislikes which works for me because I am a picky eater and also have health issues that make it necessary for me to stay away from certain foods. From lunch or dinner with my girlfriends, business meetings, dinner with my husband and carry out every meal I have gotten from Casa Del Sol has been exactly as was ordered, prepared quickly, reasonably priced and totally delicious! A quaint Mexican restaurant located in the heart of downtown. Street parking was available just outside the entrance. We were seated right away and our drink orders were taken. Chips and salsa were served with our drinks and we also ordered cheese sauce, which was delicious. A kids menu was available with a variety of items to include cheeseburgers, hot dogs and chicken fingers. I chose the shrimp tacos which were seasoned well and quite filling.
