Been staying near here for a long time and this is my first time here. Henry was so knowledgeable about the different cigars and wasn't just trying to make a sale. He asked about our previous experiences with cigars and what types of flavors we liked. He gave some different recommendations and we decided to try a cigar called Tatianna. It was very sweet and smelled like vanilla. (SIDE NOTE:If you are getting a sweet cigar don't let Jeff see...lol). Henry cut and lit our cigars and we went to sit in the smoking lounge area. One of the things I really liked was that it is BYOB! There is a liquor store right next door too; jackpot! Henry also informed me that there was a location in the Dallas area. I've been to this cigar lounge twice for Ladies Night, and can honestly say, I enjoyed myself both times. The last Friday or the month is ladies night, full of regulars that invite you into their circle for conversation, drinks, and laughs. There is always a DJ that plays until closing. Lou was there to assist me both times in picking out a new cigar. One thing I noticed about him, is he walks through frequently, changing out ashtrays for customers. The cigars are your basic garden variety smokes. Nothing too rare. We're I have a problem is that for at least 3 months now they have had an issue with charging debit cards. 3 months!! It 2019 and mostly everyone uses debit hardly no one carries cash. Yes I have a credit card, but don't back me into a corner to use it. Because of this that This spot sucks. I found this place by chance; weather conditions caused the cancellation of all my flights and I ended up a short walk away @ a nearby hotel. The plaza has several dining options and this little gem. The sparse area in the front is deceiving, as the walk-in humidor in the back is well stocked with many brands of cigars and very competitive prices. I settled on a EP Carrillo Inch maduro #62 and retired to the comfortable lounge area. Service, selection, prices and plenty of lounge chairs in front of several flat screens was a great cure for what was otherwise a hectic crappy day. I come into Montecristo's occasionally. Most of the time I am greeted and asked if I need any help. I went in about two days ago, on my way home and got the WORST service from one of the employees. As I entered into the humidor, it was myself, the Hispanic (believe his name is Ben or Dave) employee of Montecristo, another patron and this suited airplane pilot. Well as I looked around, the employee was waiting on the airplane pilot hand and foot and didn't say a word to the other two patrons in the room. I was shocked of the amount of running around this employee did to please the airplane pilot with his selection. The two of them left out of the humidor, while we were left to find what we needed ( I was looking for Blind Man's Bluff). When I couldn't find the cigar, I went with some other choices and proceeded out of the humidor. By this time, the employee was sitting down and still speaking with the pilot briefly. I asked the other employee who was sitting next to Dave/Ben if they had "Blind Man's Bluff". The gentleman said yes but seemed to not remember where it was until Dave/Ben (as he sat in his chair and never got up), told me to look in the corner on the last shelf. I was shocked/amaze that Dave/Ben pointed me in the direction, however never once provided any help to solve the situation by showing me. I went back to look but still to no cause, I could. It locate it. I proceeded to the counter where I was a bit upset and may have through my cigars on the counter to the young lady who ALWAYS helps me out. I told her a synopsis of why happened and she calmed me down and pleasantly said "See you next time Jay". With a smile I told her "unfortunately you won't". read more

What a fantastic place! Upon entering you see some cases with Xikar cutters and torches. You pass a room with comfy chairs and multiple TVs. Then you get to their back room and walk through the door to their massive humidor. It's the biggest one I've been in and was overwhelmed with all the choices. My wife and I traveled to Houston very often and we like to visit different cigar lounges.This is by far our favorite because not only did the store have what we were looking for but one of the employee name Lou greeted us right away and asked my wife and I if we were looking something specific. He was very generous and displayed patience with us. He asked us questions on what we usually smoke and told us about certain sticks he thought we would enjoy. My wife and I like to smoke mild to medium, he directed us and also presented cigars we haven't even heard of. Lou definitely knows his stuff! We will definitely remember him because sadly he informed us that he will be transferring to MC in Florida. Well Tampa MC will be our first stop this winter for vacation. Finally meet real Cigar Aficionados, David, Jeff and Donald at Casa de Montecristo on JFK are the real deal their research on the inventory is impressive. I'm not a seasoned smoker and I am still trying to find my Palate but David has been my go to guy, he listens and understand that I'm still a little green so he coaches me on certain palate profiles and he has been dead on point. I want to thank David aka "Palate Pusher" for the time on educating me on Body, Blend, Notes and Finish. I have always had a pleasant experience at Casa on JFK and its kind of hard not to when Jeff greets you as soon as you walk in the door with the simple but sometime the most important thing you could ask a person "How was your day?'" that means a lot.
