Been to a lot of different cigar shops. So short of a cigar bar, which you can't have In Houston, this is the next best thing. The shop has a huge walk-in humidor. All the name brands. Staff is very helpful. I always ask a staff member to recommend a smile based on my likes and they didn't disappoint. They have three seating areas, outside, and inside and the big one is in a smoke room with big chairs and a TV. Well ventilated. The bonus is the wine bar next door that has a cut thru and it too has the big chairs, a full bar and you can smoke in there as well. It's only about a mile off 249 so a great place to stop in on the way home or while the other half is at the mall. read more

I was invited to Serious Cigars by a couple of friends that I met earlier last month. We were at a tailgate and all 3 of us were smoking a few cigars and I was told about an event to be held here so I decided to stop in and meet up with them. It was a little hard to find as it sits off to the back off of FM 1960 but eventually I found it. The parking was fine unlike one of the reviews I read. As I entered I was greeted and I proceeded to one of the smoking lounges. There is a very large humidor which seemed to be fulled stocked. I had brought my own cigars so I didn't need to purchase any. To my surprise there was a live band! They played 80's & 90's music. Toward the back of one of the lounges there was a table setup with several bottles of liquor. None of it seemed familiar to me so I relied on one of the guys there to suggest something. He suggested Twenty Grand Black vodka and it was very sooth. It is actually vodka infused with cognac. It was so good that I went out to find a bottle but it took a few days to actually track one down! It went perfect with my Drew Estate Lava cigar! So my "friends" never did show up but it was a still a good visit and another bookmark for a later visit. read more

I just relocated to Houston for business and found this place on "yelp". What a great humidor they have. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed they have a bar attached. There are large windows that shows the bar from inside their humidor. The seating is very inviting. The bartender was quite friendly and cut my cigar for me. She offered me a few recommendations for beverages to pair with my cigars. I've only been smoking for 1 year thanks to Covid. Just walking into this place makes me wish I was more of a cigar connoisseur. The walk in humidor is massive, and I'm almost sure I could make the statement they have something for every taste/flavor/style/type. I didn't take a stroll through the plethora of variety that lay beyond the sealed room, but from what my eyes could see I'm sure a cigar lover would be in for quite a treat! Their price is very competitive and I usually do price comparison between J&R, Cigars International, and Serious Cigars. What usually wins me over is free shipping if one of them has Deal of the Day stokies that I'm looking to try and by placing DoD in your cart, everything else you ordered will be shipped for free. Of course, I also factored in the quality of the cigars and over all customer service care as well. The shipment was solid and secured. The shipping box was packed with foam peanuts for added layer protection. The lovely Short Story box was placed inside of a ziplock plastic bag with a mini-Boveda Humidity Pack (69 RH). Not necessary really as the Short Story came sealed and the Fuente had already tucked a humidity pack with the stogies. It was a nice touch by Serious Cigars. There isn't a shop in Houston that can touch this one with regards to size of the walk-in humidor, the smoking lounge, and the killer cigar events that the owner holds here several times a year. There are a ton of faithful regulars here who make sure all new-comers feel welcome. Friendly staff will go out of their way to help you find what you need. Cigars only. No Cigarettes are sold. But best of all, there isn't a store in Houston (or anywhere else in Texas for that matter), that can hold a candle to Serious Cigars in terms of price. Walk-in one day and see for yourself. Since it was my first time at a cigar bar I was depending on my friend to steer me to the good cigars. The humidor is huge..the selection was ridiculous ! ( every kind and flavor you could want ) Being the petite gal that I am...LOL..I went with the petite sized cigars. The flavors were amazing..the smell of them,,, wow ! Hubby... had all different kinds. This event , I am told, is held annually by the owner to show appreciation to his clientele ( BIG thumbs up ) They offered free buffet ( all the food was good ) .. Free drinks ( tips ) Music and raffle drawings. ( with GOOD prices..lol ) My friend's fiance' won a Golf Club and balls. Hubby and I didn't win ( phooey )... but we still enjoyed our night. Serious Cigars is worth the drive to see the massive inventory that they have on display, if it's a large production cigar odds are they have it here or can get it quick and they even carry Davidoff. Serious Cigars also host mini "Big Smokes" which they have people from all over the cigar biz come out and talk shop and show off their products. These "Big Smoke" events include cigars,food, drinks and door prizes all for a fair price per ticket.. Serious Cigars is as close to a smokers paradise, however I will dock them one star for being a bit stingy and holding back the good holiday shipments for certain customers.. I have since come to find out they are the second largest online supplier of cigars in the country. It's easy to see why....the supply is enormous. The people are friendly and very knowledgeable. The selection is gigantic. The people that are regulars will treat you right and the owner is very cool. He has a great website and it is also used to check you out. I'd recommend Serious for their selection. But carefully examine your cigars before purchasing. I bought some pretty pricey cigars there, only for them to split, unravel and not draw when I got home to smoke them. I've been smoking 14 years, when I went to the store, I was basically insulted and accused of not properly storing or cutting my sticks. I will never return because of that. read more
