Giorgio's is one of two restaurants located in the beautiful Hotel Granduca across from Uptown Park. This is a very nice and upscale property with both valet and self parking available. When I made the reservation I initially chose inside dining but after arriving we decided to take advantage of their offer to sit outside to take advantage of their lovely patio by the pool and the very pleasant outdoor temperature that evening after a nice rain. We were seated near the door where the pianist was playing nice music inside that allowed us to enjoy it. Giorgio's HRW 3 course dinner this year was $39 and I ordered the Burrata Panzanella Salad as my first course followed by Cavatelli Bolognese for the second finishing with the Flourless Chocolate Cake for the third. While waiting we were brought some bread along with trays of peanuts, potato chips and popcorn which was a little unusual but no one complained about free food. I must say that all of my 3 courses were excellent tasting. The Burrata salad had a large serving of the above named cheese with fresh tomatoes, olives and ciabatta bread that was cool in temperature and I could have eaten another serving because it was so good. The pasta bolognese was equally delicious except warm in temperature with the Akaushi beef making a delicious bolognese sauce over the cavatelli. Finally the cake was fresh and full of chocolate flavor with berries and Nutella alongside a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream. This was a perfect finish for what was a fine meal. The outdoor setting was also perfect and one that I wouldn't hesitate to repeat. So why do I only give 4 stars? For some reason not understood by anyone in our party was the fact that this entire experience took us 3 hours from being seated to paying the checks for our 3 course dinners. They didn't appear to be too busy that night so I'm not sure why it took so long. Our group did enjoy our time together and filled it with good conversation but still this dinner should have taken at least 1 hour less. Talking about a slow relaxed pace for dinner....this was a little too slow. I would still be happy to return.

I've made some good friends here since moving to Katy, but I have serious concerns about the management of this location. There is so much potential as far as what this place can be, but the management at this location seems to not understand what listening to your customers and in some cases, what your employees tell you. Their humidor is nice, but I can't understand how CI could have a lack of cigars. There are so many times that there are way too many gaps in the selection at CI. It makes me wonder whether they have a clue of how to properly maintain and stock a humidor of this size. Beyond that the bar seems to have issues constantly with maintaining top shelf alcohol on a consistent basis. The beer selection never rotates, and their bourbon and whiskey selection are lacking for the prices that they charge. They seem to want to get rid of or run off all of the bartenders that make this place run. In continuing the one thing that they are doing that makes them different...the food trucks, they seem to screw up. Most people come here for the food trucks and they are running off the one thing that draws people here outside of the people that frequently this location. There are a some staples in food trucks that they are being pushed out in an effort to change things up. Some times you shouldn't try to fix something that isn't broken. While every business makes decisions that they feel are in the best interest of the business, it makes no sense to change something that is working. Working so well that people come here specifically for the food trucks, and now they want to change that up. Oh well, I guess they don't want to keep the one thing that has been a consistent draw. I certainly hope that they get it together and start to cater towards the people that make this location work. In short, I would say that I hope that they realize the full potential of this location. It has a lot going for it, but that can only be achieved if they make the necessary adjustments to make this place be a premier cigar lounge experience.

They have a nice selection of cigars and they are not overpriced. One thing I noted that I think makes a difference to new smokers. Is they identify the strength of the cigar mild, medium or full body. If you are serious Smoker and want to have a locker they do rent lockers in the price is $300 per year. Humberto told me that they instituted a new rule this year that a person must purchase 52 Cigars per year. They also sell pipes, cigar cutters, and lighters. They do not sell alcohol nor are you allowed to keep alcohol in your locker if you decide to purchase one. I have to say, this place has a lived in feel! The wood floors counter in furniture add to the oral field and character of the place. Reminds me of Cuba except here there's air conditioning and ceiling fans. They have those in Cuba. That 1st smell of a good cigar bar is awesome. It's way bigger than it appeared from the street. I wondered into one of the two walk in humidors as the wife headed to the bar for a glass of wine. I selected a few Rocky Patels and then got me a rum n coke. I passed on lighting a stick up as I knew we wouldn't be there that long. The shopkeeper came out with a sandwich board and told the people that they had to move down the sidewalk so that he could put out his signage. He was not conducting business during the parade. He was just out there, puffing on his cigar. Why couldn't he have waited until after the parade was over to put out his signage that advertised cheap cigarettes boxes?!
