It's quite the laidback hippy town, evident from its holistic wellness stores, CBD shops, and eclectic boutiques. We tried our best to find local-owned businesses to patronize. Very walkable and plenty of eateries to enjoy. NOTE: Playa Zipolite is a nude beach, for those who are interested in that lifestyle.

It's a TINY beach, and when we got there (around 12pm) it was PACKED with people - in the restaurants, the beach front, even the rocks. I mean people, groups who didn't even know each other, were towel to towel. The water itself is a little less aggressive and much more beautiful than the other beaches in town. But, due to my anxiety it was hard for me to really enjoy this beach.

It's a long long long long long staircase down & you got to muster up the energy to hike it back up after a long day of heat exhausting fun in the sun. The beach itself is very small but is at least 5 feet deep soon as you enter. Making it the perfect beach for adults to gather round in & socialize. There is also some great snorkeling around the rocks. I saw a giant sea turtle & a eel one day. Very cool! :)) There are many cute restaurants that provide lounge chairs, umbrellas, food & drink service that have very good food & as long as you purchase drinks & food you can use the lounge chairs & umbrellas for free. This is my favorite place to go sit beachside, have a leisurely lunch, have a coco frio and/or a few beers or margaritas & go for a swim. It's mostly Europeans, locals & a few tourist. Some local guitars players usually come by that 'play for pay' & a few others selling their handmade goods. It's pretty laid back & peaceful which I adore. If you like a laid back clothing optional beach where you can UNPLUG & UNWIND, just have a peaceful, chill day in paradise with the love of your life or your BFF, you will love Playa Manzanillo. There is only one restaurant here, we picked a table and moved in for a few hours. We only ordered cerveza and papas fritas. A lady sells coconuts and fresh fruits, we like our coconuts chilled for a while, which she did for us. All reasonably priced. We met Miguel with a boat named Miranda. My wife approached him to ask about going to Playa San Augustin. Well, Miguel gave us a great offer! He picked the five of us up the next day at Playa Arrocito at 7am, proceeded straight out to sea for 45 minutes for some fishing. After I spent 30 minutes reeling in a 60lb sailfish we then headed back to towards 7 of the bays starting with Playa San Augustin. On the way we saw many sea turtles, even a mating pair. The favorite part for the whole family was spending 20 minutes boating around a Super Pod of dolphins! We stayed at Playa San Augustin for a couple of hours, hanging out at LaLa 's restaurant watching some local kids surf and swimming. Food was good but we thought a bit overpriced for the region. Saw six more bays and the blow hole on the way back to Santa Cruz where he dropped us off at 3pm. Whole trip cost was a fantastic 3000pesos plus tip. You can reach Juan Miguel at 0449581306541. We were able to swing by Playa Cometa before ascending to the outlook-- breathtaking views of the shore and horizon along the way. At the end of the path are log seats to view the sunset. So. Stunning. Try to go 1 hour early, the seats were filling up by the time we arrived, even for a weekday evening. NOTE: Dusty, crumbly path with some incline. Would probably wear hiking sandals for better comfort, though some visitors seemed fine in crocs and flip flops. And no bathroom out here, so go before you enter.

Ample space along the shore for seating, though limited shade. At high tide, the waves reach far along the sand-- no chair is safe LOL. Water is only suitable for experienced swimmers. We saw a few people get overwhelmed by the strong currents. NOTE: Two lifeguards are stationed on opposite sides of the beach, both incredibly alert of the waves and tourists. We felt very safe knowing they were ready to respond at a moment's notice.

Azure green/ blue warm waters , spectacular cliffs and mountains nearby and a sprinkling of small cocinas serving locally caught seafood. The water is clear blue and it's so calm, perfect to bring your kids & have an awesome time at the beach. Like most of the beaches there's restaurants that offer seafood & drinks (don't forget to order some coconut water to stay hydrated specially if you're drinking beers!). There's parking available, the problem I see is every time you visit this beach or any other beach with restaurants, is when you arrive all the employees from the restaurants jump in front of you to try to convince you to go to their business, it can get very annoying so what we always say is no thank you & close the windows or my husbands' idea is saying oh there's someone waiting for us already, even though this might not always help.
