We stumbled on this place during our trip to SB. To start, the service was just ok. It was a Sunday evening, so they were ready to leave when we arrived at 7:45 (they close at 9pm), at least that was the vibe we got. It was very annoying that they had no water station and that we HAD to buy bottled water. That is a huge pet peeve of both mine and my husband but whatever. As for the food, we each ordered 2 carnitas tacos (our favorite ) and kid's burrito for our daughter. The tortillas are homemade which I love and the green spicy salsa was delicious. The carnitas were very, very bland, like no salt or flavor at all. We both felt like we had to put a LOT of salsa on to enjoy the tacos. My kiddo enjoyed her burrito- beans, rice, and cheese, but it's kind of hard to mess that up. The tacos were disappointing but we were pretty hungry so we ate them. The server didn't care either way because she didn't check on us at all once she brought the food- we were the only ones there. Anyway, with all of the positive reviews on here , we thought the food would have been better. There are many other amazing taquerias and places to eat around and away from State street , so we will make a better plan next time. read more

Delicious food and great service. Highly recommended! Sometimes it will take a sec to get your food because it's a smaller operation but they make up for it with food quality, friendliness and value. read more

Thank you I always love the food here so delicious fills my soul with joy everyone is so kind and amazing . The vibe is amazing love the new tables inside so cool read more

I go here all the time one of my favorite spots to get a gordita. A lil in the expensive side but good food.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent and fast. The indoor dining was cozy and there was an outdoor dining area with heaters and music playing. read more

The margaritas are a bit on the weaker side. Most of the food is pretty good. But, the reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 3 is because I had one of the best tacos here. The Chicharron taco is very unique and it was very delicious. I would come back to this place and just order chicharron tacos. All of the other tacos were good too (mole and birria). read more

Hands down the best tacos in Santa Barbara! Owner was super friendly. My son and I love the food here! If your serious about tacos, you absolutely have to try this place. Very nice music and ambiance is super soulful! Love this place! read more

Tacos were fresh and amazing. Was a little bummed they didn't have a restroom -- walked there with my partner and her and I woulda liked to wash our hands and use the restroom but we couldn't and had to walk elsewhere while one of us waited for the food -- but the FOOD was amazing. We had fish and shrimp tacos, and they were delicious. The outdoor seating was nice and the staff could have been nicer... but the food spoke for itself. Not a place I'm going to leave a big tip, but a place I'd come back again for tacos. read more

Amazing, margaritas are just the way I like them, food is delicious! Their tacos are awesome and the service is great. It's a one of my favorites that I come back to often. read more

Was hoping this place would be good unfortunately not. Ordered a carne asada burrito and got an burrito filled with rice and maybe 8 pieces of carne asada. Over priced for a burrito full of rice. Would be great for rations at shelter of some sort. read more

Best tacos in Santa Barbara. Service 10/10 highly recommend the al pastor and if Diego is your server trust his recommendations!!

I came here for a quick lunch on a Saturday around 3 pm. My boyfriend got three birria tacos and I got a carne asada taco and a fried fish taco to eat in. We sat in their patio area to wait for the food, and it took a long time. We probably waited 30 minutes for the tacos. We went up to ask about them and they said they were still working on it. Finally when they came out they came in a to go box even though we asked to eat there. That wasn't too big of a deal, we just opened the boxes at the table. The birria tacos were good, just very greasy. The fish taco was not good, it tasted like absolutely nothing. The carne asada taco was okay, nothing special. The meat over cooked and dry, so it wasn't that pleasant to eat. The only sauces that they came with were a creamy green sauce and a hot tomato sauce (which was weird). No salsa or anything. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience and with all the other options around, we wouldn't come back again. read more

If you want to wait for your tacos for 45 mins then come here! There is little seating inside and not enough seating outside. The service is slow and the food is expensive for what it is! Would not recommend. read more

Wife & I went in to eat. We ordered a torta de carne asada, sopes and an octopus taco, yes octopus! OMG, AMAZING! This is not your ordinary Mexican food place. It's Gourmet Mexican. They also have vegan items. I highly recommend you to try. You won't regret it. Wife & I are hooked. read more

This place is a great find! The food was delicious, as if I was eating at my Mexican moms house - authentic and feelings of home. I normally don't go to Mexican restaurants because I have high standards but it didn't disappoint. I also recommend the michelada - it was a perfect balance and had pelo pelon on the rim - perfection! I am definitely coming back! Their outdoor patio was perfect for people watching. read more

The barely full bowl. I ordered the Tazon alto en Proteina, basically a taco in a bowl. Everything was delicious; however, the portion was very small for $15. It was during Fiesta, so I will comeback and see if the portion get any bigger. read more

Best Queso Birria Tacos i've ever had. Super fast, and incredibly delicious. The consomme and salsas were especially on point. The green and red were a perfect level of spiciness for me on a relaxing day. An extra spicy option would be something I'd love to try. read more

Best Mexican food downtown. Not sure what to order? Eziquiel won't steer you wrong. I went for the Sonora. One huge carne asada taco with a cheese stuffed Aneheim pepper, and pickled red onions. Thick cuts of carne! juicy and well marinated. And can't forget about the handmade tortilla. Salud! Gonna try the gonna next time I'm back, if it's not sold out! Must be good read more

One of the best taco place in Santa Barbara, authentic and delicious... big plus for the octopus one. Great Shrimp empanadas

Walked downtown Santa Barbara for a Mexican restaurant today Saturday. Hungry as heck. Order two beers and two burritos. Beers were great for the wife and I. The order took 45 minutes for Chicken burritos one which had avocado and the other didn't order was the same for both of us. The Burritos were full of rice and hardly to beans or chicken. What a disappointment. I ate half taking the rest for my dogs. The cook or helpers...whatever had no sense of doing multiple orders at once, beans and rice and meat are a given. Warm tortilla to wrap the meals took 45 minutes. Wow. I think they need to re think their business plan. Others waiting for the food as well. Saw people at the Thai place next door come and go in the time we got to burritos. Okay Beer was cold. read more

Food was excellent! We got the guacamole, flautas and shrimp and grilled fish tacos. Everything was super tasty. Portions are tapas size, so order a few things. read more

Honestly, some of the best tacos I've ever had! Amazing vegetarian options, the zucchini in the corn and zucchini taco was grilled to *perfection*, I'd say that was my favorite taco here. There's also a taco with hibiscus flower in it, but don't be fooled, it tastes nothing like a flower - it's tough, meaty, and season very well. The drinks were also amazing! My friend and I got a Bloody Mary (which she loved) and a hibiscus margarita. I asked for the margarita as a double, and it still tasted so light and sweet! Definitely recommend, especially for vegetarians (they had 4 different veggie taco options!) read more

This place is amazing! Freshly made tortillas, extensive menu offering very traditional authentic tacos and ingredients. I get the nopales and octopus tacos. Amazing!!! Service is great, salsas are different that your typical Mexican restaurants in town. If they could offer a bit more variety in salsas (other than the creamy versions) and maybe better and fresher tasting agua frescas to match the authenticity of their tacos, that could make this one of my new favorite taco places. The tacos are amazing and I can't wait to try other ones! read more
