Chicken Mole Poblano - sublime!
Julie M.

Casa Calixto has quickly become one of the standout additions to the Bellevue dining scene and easily my #1 for Mexican food in the area. The Jalisco inspired restaurant is spacious and inviting, with warm lighting and a relaxed atmosphere. There are plenty of cozy booths, larger tables for parties, and now an outdoor patio that's perfect on a warm evening. Also seating at the full bar. My husband and I dine here regularly, and the hospitality is consistently warm and genuine so we feel welcomed back. They start you off with chips and salsa that is authentic, fresh and with the right amount of spicy heat. The must-order, in my opinion, is the Chicken Mole Poblano. The mole is made from a family recipe and is rich, complex and absolutely sublime. I find myself craving it at times. My husband is a fan of the Burrito Bandera with carnitas, which is satisfying and generously portioned. There is a large menu, so explore! On a date night we'll split a small pitcher of their premium margaritas made with Herradura tequila. It's a great value and made strong enough to feel some kick. This is our go-to spot when we want a laid back, delicious meal where we know we'll be well taken care of. If you're in Bellevue, don't miss Casa Calixto and definitely order the Chicken Mole. ¡Olé!

The service is great, and they've really made the inside of the place look nice and welcoming. The spicy margarita was pretty good, but a little on the sweet side for me. The street tacos (carnitas and chorizo for me) were packed with meat and really fantastic. I came back a few days later and tried the chicken mole poblano. Apparently, this is a family recipe, and it was as good as any mole I've ever had in Mexico. Highly recommend it if you're looking for Mole in Nashville!

Pastel tres leches. So good!

If there is one place I'd never miss, this is it. The food…read moreis ALWAYS consistent, the service ALWAYS top-notch, and the staff are mainstays and the secret Voodoo magic that brings it together. I stopped in per usual and again was not disappointed. As a senior military officer in the human resource arena and one who understands the cost of high staff turnover, specifically in the service industry, it is refreshing to see consistency. This consistency in staff translates to a fundamental truth in business and leadership--it's all about the people Herb sets the tone for consistency; his leadership and infectious enthusiasm permeated throughout the staff, hence the low turnover. I was equally impressed that even since my last visit 10 months ago, Herb remembered my family and me. This place is a jewel in Nashville because of its food and customer service.

We haven't left yet and I'm already missing Voodoo Gumbo!!…read more They have a pretty good amount of gluten free options including the red beans and rice (which contains house-made andouille sausage), jambalaya, fried shrimp, and fried catfish. There is cross-contamination -- but I am able to have it. It's so rare to find gluten free fried foods, especially seafood!! The food was not only good, it was GREAT!! Everything was delicious! Shrimp was crispy and slightly sweet, some of the best I've had inland! Red beans and rice was so smokey and had a bit of sweetness to it, oh buddy it was great! On top of that, everyone was super nice. Guy who seated us was rlly friendly, girl who waited on us was SO helpful with answering my questions! We ended up with beignets that my husband said were the best he's had outside of NOLA. We got to meet the owner on our way out and he seems like someone who has a real passion for what he does. The decor was nice too - very on brand! It feels cozy in there, and everyone seemed to know each other - felt like a sweet little community spot. Currently trying to think of reasons to come back to Nashville so we can eat here again ! Only place we ate twice on our trip

Famous for not having a sign, finding it may be part of the adventure, but once you do, everything else is effortless. Parking is simple--just pull up and valet takes care of the rest. With a reservation, we walked right in with no wait. The most difficult part of the evening was deciding what to order because the menu offers so many tempting choices. I selected the Kvarøy Arctic Salmon, while my wife chose the Springer Mountain Farms All-Natural Chicken. Both dishes exceeded expectations. The salmon was cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. It rested on a bed of greens with a subtle lemon flavor that paired beautifully with the fish. The chicken was equally impressive--moist, tender, and packed with flavor. What stood out most was the incredible smoky aroma that hit before each bite, making it even more irresistible. For dessert, the Blackberry Lemon Bread Pudding was the perfect finish. Soft, warm, and bursting with flavor, it was a standout ending to an already exceptional meal. From the outstanding food to the attentive service, Urban Grub delivered a fantastic dining experience. Make a reservation, enjoy the meal, and see if you can find the place.

They were not what I was expecting but they were good. They are more like a crab hush puppy. The Alabama white sauce that came with set the beignet off!! The grits...the grits (chefs kiss). Very flavorful. The steak was good. Didn't even really need an additional sauce. White linen type of vibe. We got to sit in the VIP area/chef table. I will definitely be back!!
