We stopped by Casa Bembé on a beautiful day and chose to sit outside, so I can't really comment on the indoor atmosphere. The staff was genuinely friendly and made a point of telling us they were a new restaurant and appreciated us coming in, which was a nice touch. I ordered the Cuban sandwich. It was good, but not quite great. They brought out a mojo sauce, but it was much thinner and tasted more like a salad dressing than the traditional Cuban mojo I'm used to. They also served a garlic white sauce that, in my opinion, didn't really complement the sandwich. On the other hand, the fried plantains were excellent and easily one of the highlights of the meal. My son ordered the Ropa Vieja, and it was outstanding. Tender, flavorful, and something I'd definitely consider ordering on my next visit. Service was warm and welcoming, though it seemed like they may have been a little short-staffed. Most of the diners were inside, and since we were seated outside, I would have appreciated a drink refill during the meal. Overall, I'm glad we gave Casa Bembé a try. The food showed a lot of promise, especially the Ropa Vieja and plantains. I'll definitely be back, but next time I'll skip the sandwich and explore more of the entrée menu. read more

This venue sits in a strip mall and it does not face the main street. It is tucked away in the back. The inside of the venue is not that big. I like to come early weekday mornings so there isn't a crowd. This is one of the few spots open at 8AM and you can get something besides breakfast. I try to get something different every visit. This time I got the cafe con leche and the tostonachos. The coffee was good but nothing special. You can tell they make the coffee to order. The tostonachos are huge. I had three meals off one order. The beef was extremely hard and chewy. The nachos were not hot. Seemed like they let it cool down for too long. Service is great and I love the decor. The server brought me 3 different dipping sauces. The garlic sauce was nice. The pineapple sauce was the best in my opinion. The last sauce had some heat and I liked the change up in taste. Tried to go to Cafe Bembe today. Restaurant was NOT busy, but there was no service to be had. Gustavo, this is the second time this has happened. This restaurant started off great and we went many times. The service has been slipping however. We had issues with carry out that was the wrong order. Then we have had VERY slow and sometimes unwelcoming service. Do NOT trust reviews more than four or five months old. We want to support restaurants in our neighborhood. Management has got to get it together. We sat down for nearly 10 minutes, and the people brought us the menus and two waters, but we're party of four. Service person was also rude and did not even say good afternoon or anything else. When we got up to leave, sometimes you might expect a service person to ask if everything was OK, but in this case they all three just literally looked at us with indifference. So we went across the street to Bartaco, where their service is consistently good. My ratings on the food above are from prior visits Gustavo - we have supported Cafe Bembe and Polanco and want you to do well, but Cafe Bembe is going to lose clients with this kind of service. I decided to try this establishment because it was within walking distance from Zarminali Pediatrics. It's a quaint restaurant with outdoor seating that's dog-friendly. I consider this to be an establishment which you can meet coworkers there or go on an intimate date. There's just enough seating and a bar located towards the back. I ordered the shredded chicken congri bowl with Cuban rice and added avocado (I need my green vegetables). It comes with plantains which I don't eat so I can't tell you about those. The bowl overall was really good and reasonably priced. I wish I knew which of the three sauces that I poured over it. The next time I visit, I plan to dine in because of the service I received while I waited on the food I ordered to-go and to figure out the name of the sauce ; ) read more

What a beautiful restaurant! While searching for a new Buckhead restaurant to support with friends in the neighborhood, I came across Casa Bembe on Yelp. What a find. Serving delicious Cuban cuisine, Casa Bembé is fairly new in the city but they already have a new fan in me. Being a South Florida native, Cuban food is close to my heart and I'm always so hype to find a new Cuban restaurant to check out. With brightly colored art featuring Cuba, fluorescent flamingoes, and decor really set the scene as soon as you enter. It's not a very large place, but it feels quite intimate and not crowded at all. My friends were already seated and we were quickly greeted and served ice cold glasses of water. My friend Miguel and I opted for Mexican diet Cokes and omg, they were ice cold and so crisp. Perfect for a hot day. Between the 3 of us, I ended up ordering a media noche sandwich and they shared the tostonachos which came with 3 proteins. Less than 15 minutes later, our food came out, hot and fresh! My media noche was absolutely delicious. It was packed with ingredients, pressed and even better when paired with the side sauce that came with it. It also came with a side salad. But those tostonachos?! Crazyyy. That dish was MASSIVE. They didn't spare any toppings, the chef just went crazy lol. The plantain chips just took it to another level. It's truly a dish for 3 people, maybe 4, perfect for sharing as an appetizer. I'm so excited to go back and check out more of their menu, especially their cocktails. Can't wait! read more

The tostones rellenos were easily my favorite bite of the night - crispy plantain cups filled with slow-cooked ropa vieja that were packed with flavor. I could've eaten a whole plate of those by MYSELF. And I always find myself coming back for the Cuban sandwich. Something about that perfectly pressed bread and savory filling just never misses. Love Cafe Bembe! My husband and I came here on a weekday for lunch because we were looking for a good Cuban sandwich in the area. Claude for the win with thru recommendation;) As soon as we go out of the car we could hear the Cuban music and instantly made me feel at ease, as if I were on vacation! We sat inside by the window. The server was very friendly. We ordered the croquettes, Cuban sandwich and steak sandwich, plantains and rice & beans. Cuban sandwich is one of the best in ATL, steak sandwich is better than some on Buford Highway, plantains cooked perfectly and the sauce that came with the croquettes was delicious! Oh and the rice and beans.. simple but flavorful. Most Mexican and Cuban restaurants' r&b are so bland. We also had the guava pastry- perfect pastry, not too flaky, just right. Oh and the plantain empanadas far exceeded our expectations. Better than the chicken :) We even met the owner who was super friendly and my husband and him clicked right away (they're both Colombian). Absolutely loved the aesthetics and vibe. A nice casual spot for a catch up or date. From the main entryway to the bathroom, the vibe definitely checked. Located in a busy plaza with parking spots even though it may get full pretty quick. The server was friendly. He didn't speak English properly so when we asked questions he was a little uncertain. But he was open to providing his opinions. The espresso and mango juice were absolutely delicious. We also got the trio from which the mango/pineapple salsa was the best. The cheese dip was really bland. Got a side of the yucca fries which was also bland and dry; it didn't quite taste fresh and was kind of cold. The cuban sandwich was delicious and filling; it can definitely be shared if you get other items. The chicken bowl was his recommendation and I don't think I'd get it again. The rice and beans had absolutely no flavor. The roasted plantain was the best part of the bowl. We had an overall great experience so I won't discount that. This place is so good! We ate outside on their patio since it was an unseasonably warm night! The servers were very friendly and accommodating! And the food was delicious! So happy we stumbled upon this place! It's in the same shopping complex as CAVA and Menchie's. We went for an afternoon treat across the parking lot and noticed this new place. We peeked at the menu and came back the same night. Super friendly host greeted us. Prices are very reasonable. We tried the slow roasted pork bowl and the shredded chicken bowl, both with the congri. They were moist and super well seasoned. The accompanying salsas were delicious as well. The bowls also come with a healthy serving of plantains. We will absolutely be back and hope to spread the word to others. We really need more quaint, reasonably priced and authentic restaurants like this in the area so I hope they do well. I thought the food would be better than it was because of the reviews. Sadly not so. The waiter was cool and friendly, but the food definitely not memorable. He recommended the ribs...very disappointing. My side was yuca fries, also disappointing. Smh. And the ribs came with a salad but it was never brought out, and I didn't even ask for it because I was just not looking to be disappointed, yet again. Rewind a bit, we ordered appetizers, the plantain chips with 3 different dips..., also disappointing. So now you can understand why I wasn't keen on following up on the missing salad. My grandson had the empanadas and LOVED them. So it wasn't all bad. At the end of the day, we were hungry and the food served its purpose. I will not return. read more

We visited here spontaneously on Valentine's Day and received such friendly and welcoming service despite how busy they were at the time. It is a small restaurant but is decorated beautifully in an unassuming plaza with parking. We tried the espresso, fried cheese appetizer, veggie sandwich, and ropa vieja sandwich, which were all flavorful with plentiful portions. Our server also unexpectedly brought out the passionfruit and mango juices for us to try, both of which were delicious. Moving from Fl to ATL I've been missing the Hispanic food scene and this place knocked it out of the park. This tastes like the food I grew up with, absolutely delicious and super fresh. Would give 5 stars except their tostones were a little burnt so very hard, but other than that 10/10. The service was very nice and the vibe of the place is very cool and loved the music they played. As someone who has spent time eating my way through the Cuban dining scene in Atlanta, Casa Bembe offers a fantastic entry with flavorful food and great value. My family and I have been a couple times and while they are working through the kinks of opening a new resturant, we have been very impressed by the bold flavors they deliver. Congri is often a great test of a Cuban kitchen as there is no sauce to cover up bland flavors and man does their Congri deliver. The first time we tried it, it was easily the most flavorful and moist congri I have had in atlanta, the second time, it was a tad dry but still the best I have had in atlanta. The Cuban Sandwhich is great, far better than any in atlanta (although I do love El Super Pan). The Vaca frita is great although I do prefer their Lechon aside. We haven't had the chance to try much of the back of the menu yet but excited to try the Picanha. The owners are great, and I know they are likely making a concerted effort to build champions of their brand but they have been very generous, kind and helpful on both trips. They brought a couple deserts to try on our last visit and man let me tell you the Churros and Tres Leche are worth the splurge. The ambiance is cool and the resturant has a great vibe. I do worry as it gets more crowded how they will be able to accommodate the noise and lack of space but those are good problems to have. read more

Very nice interior with a sidewalk patio seating. The owner is a very nice fella and he's hired him a true Cuban chef with a man from Venezuela to do the bartending as they serve the Irish whiskey. Atlanta has a few Cuban restaurants, but none truly capture the charm and atmosphere of a classic Cuban café. Casa Bembé is a small café bursting with authentic Cuban character and ambiance. The menu is excellent, featuring traditional Cuban specialty plates, appetizers, and sandwiches. Cuban sandwiches have been around for a long time, but none compare to the Cuban sandwich at Casa Bembé. The croquetas are superb, and the Cuban coffee and desserts are the real deal.
