Everything was delicious!! All of the servers are so patient and kind when you are trying to order. When you first drive up, the outside looks very deceiving but when you go to the top; it is a gorgeous view.

This German hangout spot is high in the mountains of Morovis.....you'll need an experienced driver to get here!

VANTAGE POINT Authentic European food and a spectacular view set this venue in Morovis apart from the rest. As one of the coolest places we visited during our time in Puerto Rico, Nichole C knew that this'd be right up my alley. Founded by a German who later settled on the island with his wife, Casa Bavaria is one of the most popular spots among the 18-35 crowd. Our group of four arrived on 12/30/18 and found a small parking lot that was jam-packed, including a massive party bus! Eventually finding a table upstairs, we flagged down a server and ordered a round of drinks. I have to commend them for not only carrying different kinds of German beer, but for having nearly a dozen available on tap. I enjoyed a 'Radeberger' pilsner while my girl sipped a Schöfferhofer hefeweizen draft. Very fair prices, too. The "Alemán" sampler ($15.50) was basically a giant German combo plate. It had sliced bratwurst, currywurst (sausage in sauce), schnitzel strips, spätzle noodles, warm potato salad and surprisingly good sauerkraut. With honey mustard and mayoketchup for dipping, this was an excellent choice! Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 5 Service was fine (if a bit slow), but we didn't come here for that. We came here for the view and man oh man, it did not disappoint. Overlooking the lush tropical landscape of the area, you can see for miles on a clear day, sometimes all the way to the ocean. Casa Bavaria can get insanely busy during Oktoberfest and world cup matches, so plan your visit accordingly (and I don't believe they accept reservations)! * TL;DR * At more than 2,000ft above sea level, this open-air restaurant can trigger acrophobia in some folks. All that separates you, the blissful beer-drinking party goer, from tumbling over the edge is a single railing. Please do be careful, as alcohol and extreme heights do not mix well (also, phones dropped from 1/3-mile up into the jungle typically aren't recovered). The journey up into the mountains can be perilous, so make sure you have a trustworthy driver who can navigate the narrow winding roads. It's roughly an hour from San Juan but good god almighty it's worth the trip. Expect some of the best views on the entire island, not to mention lots of beer variety at a reasonable value. Casa Bavaria's food is the real deal and was one of the highlights of our trip. Super cool place, a must-visit when in PR!

We stopped in for lunch on Saturday and the place was packed. We found a table with a beautiful view and had one of the best German meals we've ever had. Highly recommend!

The location and scenery are spectacular. I was in awe. I'm German and was disappointed in the Yeager schnitzel the pork was not fried. I have never had schnitzel that wasn't fried. Other than that everything was ok. I would go back. The service was 7 out of 10.

We came to celebrate Oktoberfest. Great view, great food, great staff!

We came to enjoy the booze and view. The "biew." After enjoying some time up on the mountain, we decided to stop even though there wasn't a soul to be seen but we had to celebrate surviving 'The Monster' zipline at Toroverde. Turns out Friday afternoons aren't too busy this time of year. There's a little bakery separate from the two-story restaurant, but we head straight into the bar to order drinks. From a pic on the wall, I saw that the Clintons decided to give ol' Casa Bavaria a try back in the day. Our bartender was nice; later he even helped me carry drinks upstairs. The view is stunning here. The drinks are cheap. You can stick your face in a hole and take pictures in the parking lot. Just your usual bar in PR.

I think my boyfriend's family hyped up this restaurant too much. We ate here for 3 Kings Day. Yes, it is on top of a mountain and has a great view, but we also had to drive about 1.5 hours to the center of the island, half on the highway and half up winding roads to get there. Yes, they have German food, but the menu is very selective. I'm not a German expert, but the dishes did not look any different then the Puerto Rican food (basically fried meat). The restaurant is huge and there is a lot of open space/outdoor seating where you can feel the breeze. However, the parking lot is not proportional to the size that they can cater. If you can't find a spot, you either park in front of car or park along side of the hill. You also have to literally hunt for a table because there isn't a host. I did go on 3 Kings Day, so maybe the restaurant was more crowded than usual...maybe. I didn't see anything special about this place, and it is definitely not worth the drive to visit again. At the end of the meal, the entire family felt the same way and thought we would have a better meal closer to the metro area.

The drive from the San Juan metro area is fairly easy. The view is spectacular. The bratwurst was tasty. The beer selection was very good. Serving sizes were good. If you like a good mustard bring your own, they only had yellow mustard. The homemade apple pie was not very good, although the filling was good, the crust was gritty and mushy and tasted bad. The service was good and prices were fair.

We stumbled upon this place by pure coincidence. We skipped breakfast on our way to Toro Verde and used Yelp to find a restaurant in the area. Behold, Casa Bavaria! I read that the views were breathtaking and boy were they right. We ate at the terrace upstairs. We ordered a small appetizer or bratwurst and German bread...delicious. I had a small order of shrimp scampi with a side of arroz con gandules. My boyfriend had a grilled chicken with arroz con avichuelas. Both meals were amazing. We each had a German beer. I don't like beer so I had the grapefruit flavored one and it was delicious. We're so happy we found this spot. I would definitely come back.

Very good place! They have outdoor and indoor options to sit and upstairs. However they do not allow food upstairs. You get very nice views from outside. Fast service. They also have only 3 kinds of German beer for happy hour 1-3. I would come back here again. Def worth trying some of their German menu. I tried the beer goulash it was very delicious and the portions were big.

Traditional German food in PR. Service is very friendly. The ambiance is ok I guess. I visit often because of the location in central PR.

So, we are walking around old San Juan and I'm like homie I need the first drink we can find! Enter La taberna lúpulo. First, dude servicing the bar was extra cool. Just friendly and engaged and didn't act like we just business, but friendly. I wasn't even planning on drinking beer. But my homie was like what do you recommend and he poured a sample of some blonde ale and... wheat ale con parcha!! I was like o snap let me have a glass of that. Fire!! I wouldn't call it sweet, but it has that hint. More importantly it was fresh and not funky. I personally find tap beer is usually not fresh tasting and tend to prefer bottles or cans when I drink beer. But that was not a problem here. Tasted brand new and delicious. The location is unbeatable, in the heart of old San Juan. The decor was fun and eclectic. I'm a fan of the elephant personally due to my old school ties with elephant size productions. Oh and it was super inexpensive. It was like $4-$5 a beer iirc. Which is crazy for a trendy neighborhood like this (La factoría around the corner). Great job to the staff at Lúpulo. Highly recommended.
