Bertin Gomez was our initial contact and made a personable and favorable first impression that lasted throughout the flooring installation. He checked in daily and more than met our expectations down to every detail. He did all of this with professional courtesy and a smile. His crews were a reflection of him...all courteous and conscientious workers right down to final cleanup. The new hardwood floor is beautiful. We would highly recommend Sedaris to anyone who needs new hardwood floors installed to perfection and free from worry and hassles!

Several people in my old neighborhood recommended Sedaris Hardwoods. This company has been serving…read morethe area for years. If I had not spoken to former customers, I would have passed this business by. Things to note: - The communication, payments and scheduling were disjointed and I do agree with Crystal W., the previous poster, on this point. Based on my experience, I would recommend that this company hire an office manager or some type of scheduling/accounting assistant to manage scheduling and billing. Paul appears to manage it all himself and communicates mostly through texts after 9pm, though it is possible to get him on the phone during the day. - Have Paul come out and do the consultation and have everything ready and prepared for your estimate 3 months in advance when you want to get on the schedule-the business is busy and you'll likely need some lead time before getting on the schedule. - For our experience, we paid 50% for the flooring and then the remaining 50% a couple of days before installation. This was done directly with the flooring vendor (not Sedaris); the Sedaris crew will pick up the flooring directly from the vendor prior to installation - Sedaris installation crew were phenomenal-I give them 5 stars. They worked hard, were polite, and made sure everything was clean when they left. - We had one hiccup where the measurements that Sedaris did at our original consultation for our pricing fell short and didn't account for enough flooring-1 or 2 additional boxes of flooring were needed in the laundry area. In the end, Sedaris agreed to pay for the additional flooring and we paid for the additional labor. We felt that this was a fair arrangement and were happy with how that issue was resolved. - After the installation and final payments, we had a question about cleaning some paint stains in the floor (done by separate vendor) and Paul was prompt in giving some helpful tips-I appreciated his helpfulness even after our official business was over. Despite some of the communication challenges with scheduling and billing, if we were to get our floors done again, we'd hire Sedaris. We love our floors.

I would definitely go back there for my flooring needs in the future. It's hard to find great customer service but I saw it at USA Flooring today. Thanks again Matt! Patrice

I was watching them, by my choice, the whole few days they took. - They explained everything they were going to do and as they actually were doing. - They are meticulous in what they do, if they don't like something or you don't, they correct it immediately. - They pay attention to detail, and address things as they go along along, not only at the end of the job. - They work with you on the price and are flexible to meet your needs. - They are friendly, down to earth guys, can kid around , crack jokes, but always stay focused on the job at hand. Deck Screening/staining and repainting project - Abandoned after 12 months…read more He claimed to be a "master carpenter", and showed some pictures of completed jobs, but here, he did not deliver on-time, quality work, In fact, the job NEVER was completed, with him abandoning it after 12 months, leaving significantly more expense required, than the 20% remaining due on the project. Due to his ill-thought, un-documented design, poor implementation, and haphazard execution, there was significantly more cost still remaining to finish the job, correct his mistakes, and clean up from the messes he made. He tried unsuccessfully to hand off the remaining work to anyone who would take it for the remaining 20% still due. But there was so much rework, no one wanted it because it was going to require much more cost/expense to finish. During the course of 12 months, he had excuse after excuse for being late, missing work days/weeks at a time .. Claims that he sent texts to tell me of planned late arrival, but could never show the logs that they were, he had Covid 3 times in the course of 6 months, and was allergic to Covid boosters (taking days off in advance of, and after each booster), saying he expected to have these allergic reactions . He had vehicle issues, interruptions from other jobs, emergency callouts by police in the middle of the night to replace broken store windows. By then it was winter 2021. When he finally resumed work in the spring 2022, he then said he fell off a roof, injuring his wrist, and would no longer be able to finish the job. In actuality, he never worked more than 2 days in week, and almost never worked more than 2 consecutive weeks, ultimately leading to the results listed above. His excuses which, taken individually, might seem plausible on their own, told a different story when considered together. He was in way over his head, and didn't have the competency, labor, and organizational and carpentry skills to execute the committed tasks. Whereas he may be able to replace windows, serious carpentry was way outside his wheelhouse, because it required organization, skill and reliability to deliver a job on-time, skills he doesn't possess.

Bailey Homes in Bailey Nc Very Disappointing Experience…read moreWith Ryan Homes We purchased a new construction home from Ryan Homes in Bailey NC and closed on July 31, 2026. What should have been an exciting experience has instead been extremely stressful. During our three sales meetings and the inspection 10 days before closing, we were shown light switches but were never told that the rooms did not include overhead lights or even electrical wiring in the ceilings. We assumed the switches were for ceiling lights. We only discovered the issue during the inspection. Our sales representative said there was nothing he could do. It took more than eight days and repeated requests through our realtor before the sales manager finally called, only to tell us Ryan Homes would not do anything. We had about $15,000 available for closing costs, but only $6,400 was used. Despite this, they refused to offer any credit for what we believe was clear miscommunication. We also have a drainage problem in front of our driveway. After rain, water remains there for more than 48 hours. Warranty told us we have to wait 48 hours after it rains so they can inspect it, leaving us to monitor the standing water and wait for another rain. We have contacted corporate warranty several times and were told someone would follow up, but nobody has resolved our concerns. English is not my first language, and they also refused to communicate with my designated translator. We are extremely disappointed. We bought this home for our retirement and expected honest communication and reasonable support. Instead, we have experienced unnecessary stress and frustration from the very beginning.
