Cute little boutique featuring rustic/farmhouse/shabby chic home decor…read more I stopped in last week and thought the name of the store looked familiar to me. It was and for good reason- it's the sister store of a home decor shop in Tawas City that I remember shopping last summer. That store was super cute and kinda eclectic and so was this one. The store just opened in April and is very much like the shop up north. They mirror each other pretty well, from layout and service to selection and price point. Customer service was nice and attentive and the stock was ample, showcasing plenty of "farmhouse chic" type of decor- candles, vases, furniture, clocks, artwork, signage, etc, much of it in a rustic, upcycled motif. The prices are kinda on the high end for even simple items, but the furniture was pretty reasonably priced. Some of the pieces are pretty garden variety and nothing that unique or that you can't get at Target for much less, but other items (larger pieces) are rather interesting and worth a real look. Overall, a nice store with great service and a mid-range price point for the most part.

Don't even bother…read more I've been to this store three times in total. Each experience was an epic fail. The first time, there was a guy who allegedly worked there, but seemed too interested in eating to pay attention to customers. I left without getting any info on the bracelet that I was interested in. The second time, the dude working seemed to have no clue what he was doing and told me to look it up in a brochure. Uh, sure. Whatever. The third time, I came in looking for a specific Solvar bracelet they had for about $60-$70. They were supposed to be open. It was middle of the day, during their regular business hours and they had a chalkboard sidewalk sign outside the front door that said they were open and please come on in. Guess what? They were closed. No lights on, locked door, no one around, no note on the door indicating an emergency or that they would return in ten minutes, no info about come back later, no closed sign. Heck, we walked around the store next door for awhile, the home decor shop across the street, too, and window shopped for about 20 minutes. No one ever returned. No activity whatsoever. I called the business number, too. No answer and no message indicating they had to close. I called two days later and they were open. Sorry, they aren't getting my business. I am buying the bracelet online and not from their stupid website. They are not the one and only place to get a Solvar bracelet. Cute stock, horrid customer service. Just say no. I did warn you. No wonder their overall review rating is so low. I can see why. I'm often all about family-owned or small business, though this really is just insane.

I ordered the jacket and....nothing. The order just showed as "pending". I emailed twice and called once (my call was sent to voice mail), but received no response. I eventually received a return call ONLY after I contacted PayPal. The owner told me that the only size in stock was a XS. They agreed that they would cancel the order. Well, that never happened. I elevated the issue to PayPal and was given a full refund. They are still showing this jacket as on sale and all sizes available. Really bad experience. Never again.

Outstanding, excellent, customer service. If I could, I would give them a 6 star rating. This…read morebusiness is housed in the Lager Mill and is the place to buy quality Southern Germany/Alpine Region of Europe style clothing. When I traveled to the Province of Bavaria, I thought I could find Lederhosen for less money. I was wrong, the prices are competitive with shops in Bavaria. When I went to buy my 5-piece Tracht (traditional German clothing) the size Bundhosen I thought was the correct size was out of stock. Instead of just ordering 1 size larger they ordered a few sizes larger too. Turns out the size that actually fit me was two sizes larger. Had they just ordered the size I thought would fit, I would have looked like an overstuffed sausage. Before buying my Tracht I checked online for Trachts and it turns out online isn't any cheaper for the same quality as I bought. At Bavarian Specialties a person can try on shoes, Bundhosen & Lederhosen, shirts, and hats. They also sell women clothing. The second day I put on my Bundhosen, the stitching failed which holds on the suspender button which was a manufacturing flaw. On my way to get them repaired I stopped in to let them know what happened. The owner was shocked and apologetic that the stitching failed. He told he would have it repaired at no cost to me. An Lager Mill employee told me he owned a pair Lederson for many years and button have never come off. Bavarian Specialties sells authentic made in Germany Lebkuchen, candies, and many other things to numerous to mention.
