It's still shiny and new! Nonetheless, it's a nice store, typical for H&M, with attractive displays and carefully designed "sale areas," etc. I was pretty excited to see this place finally open. Alas, it seemed like construction took forever, as in months behind the schedule! I don't get what the holdup was, but the final product looks pretty great. Indeed, this is actually a pretty large H&M in comparison to some, which is great because they have so much to offer. I was impressed by how well this place was run upon my initial shopping visit here, but I hope the service and cleanliness don't go by the wayside after it's operational for awhile. At least, that's what I've noticed at other H&M retail locations I've shopped in before. This one had a really nice layout and better than average selection, including on the men's side of the store (my husband was pretty happy about that). That isn't always the case. At any rate, there were no clothes jumbled together or displays in disarray or items that looked trampled on (something I've seen before at the H&M in Novi). The service was pretty good, with friendly (though not particularly "super friendly") salespeople. The clearance section, while this is a new store, seemed rather well thought-out, too. If you want inexpensive, on-trend "throwaway" fashion, I would have to say this is the best place in town. I found multiple cute sweaters for $10 and most items were $20 at the most- honestly.

For me, this was a fun place to shop when I was in college and I guess, in many ways, it still is. While they have aisles of overpriced, inferior-quality items, like cheaply-made clothing and jewelry, they still have cool pop culture items, like TV show and faux vintage rock t-shirts. There are still some good bargains in here, especially during clearance sales. Watch out for the clearance bins at the front of the store- I got a Homeland t-shirt for $2.99! Plus, they sell funky pop culture & retro buttons and lots of vinyl records. Gotta love the vinyl, right? Hot Topic does have the odd assortment of clothing made of rubber, corsets, baby doll dresses, and S & M attire that a fledgling dominatrix or porn star would probably drove over, but I just bypass that stuff. It's like Noir-lite in here. Customer service is a mixed bag- they are either all over you or leave you to your own devices completely. I never expected much in the way of customer service here, so it's not of particular importance. It's a Hot Topic, duh!

None of the areas looked maintained or cared for. I get it, your patrons are slobs and don't care if stuff falls etc, but that's why you have employees. Before Easter I went to look for Spring decorations. Although I didn't have any luck finding anything, I did find some cute stuff in the pet area. This is a good place to find dog toys for sure, the prices seem to be alot better than going to a pet store. Probably even better over Meijer. Last trip in, my daughter even found a big dog puzzle that was way cheaper than going to Meijer. So it's worth a look here when it comes to your dog. They have cat things too. The one thing on my trips here I do always look at is the various coffees they have by the checkout. My family are huge coffee drinkers, and k cups/ground coffee can get very expensive. Especially with the inflation that has hit over the past few years. Not giving up coffee, so had to find a way to get it more affordable! There is usually a good selection so I come here to have a look when I'm running low before getting elsewhere. There is usually a lot of stronger coffees, but occasionally you can get something with flavors. Thank you Marshall's for having a selection of everything in your stores-including coffee! This location is small but is newly renovated and in a much better area - in the Oak Brook Square shopping center near TJ Maxx, Sally's, Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby, Buffalo Wild Wings, Plato's Closet and Five Below, etc. They have the same product line and as much variety as before, and terrific customer service, per usual- (actually, I think the service has slightly improved, so it's even better than ever). They had some great deals and sales for their grand opening. We picked up some Christmas gifts to put away for family and a few items for ourselves. Great location, product line, prices, and pretty great customer service.. definitely going to stop in again.. and again.. and again.

We found a lot of quirky and fun items as well as some items of high-quality that can be used on a daily basis. I was impressed by two things: 1) the prices were excellent, nice a low as one would hope to see at a thrift store and 2) all items were very clean. There were plenty of bargains for everyone in the family. Shoes, clothes, toys, furniture and fabulous items to use in the kitchen.
