I go to Goodwill for donations because they are always open for drop off unlike Salvation Army.

Store is clean and well organized. Goodwill is a store that will accept fabric donations too.

Oh dear. What started out as such an exciting find turned out to be nothing but an intense and…read moreridiculous headache. My gf and I popped in to check out the new location as she saw an ad in the local newspaper. The shop is really cool, there are a lot of great home decor items- pillows, frames, decorations and very cool furniture. 6/15- I was in process of designing a bar, to build and put in my pub room when i found the bar featured in a picture I posted online. After measuring and confirming the bar would fit, I decided to purchase it. Although i could not get it home in my SUV, i was happy with the purchase. The owner offered to deliver the product directly to our home. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had rain plans for the week but the owner offered to deliver on Tuesday. Unfortunately, we never heard from him and I was dealing with a family issue, so I was not concerned about waiting a little longer. 6/20- Owner reached out via text, telling me my product was on the trailer and he wanted to deliver ASAP. I offered to have someone pick up the unit on trailer due to the fact I was still out of town for the family emergency. The owner responded with the product would be in an enclosed trailer, if his wife could help him lift it. I again offered to have a friend to swing by to help/pick up the unit. The owner confirmed it was in an enclosed trailer. 6/21- I reached out via text when I was back in town and shared my gratitude for being flexible as I was dealing with the family issue. I offered to swing by with my SUV to pick up the trailer. I asked about the weight to confirm towing capacity. I also shared via text that I added his company to Yelp. He assured me he should deliver the unit. He stated he would message me when he was going to swing by to deliver the unit in the afternoon. Via phone he said he would deliver on 6/22. 6/22- He mentioned to my husband that we would need to polyurethane it protect it. Despite not being told that initially when the item was purchased. I just purchased a new can of polyurethane for my other wood building projects. As i was about to open the can to start sealing it, i realized the front board was completely separated from the other boards, the corners were split with huge gaps. I sent the pictures of the damage to the owner and asked what happened considering the damage was not there when I took pictures and purchased the bar. He mentioned that he could easily fix the damage with wood glue and a little filler. That seemed like a reasonable solution, although, who wants a wood filler on a brand new bar? I called him to discuss the damage. He apologized, acknowledged the damage. 6/28- Scheduling the fix was a challenge, the owner said that he picked up the required supplies to fix my brand new bar. He shared via text that he would be over at 3pm to do the repair. My husband took vacation time to get home to receive him at the home. At 4, the owner contacted me to tell me he was just running up to Home Depot to grab the required items to do the repair. I called to understand what was going on; which resulted in the owner requesting to pick up the unit that day but also offered a small settlement for the damaged product (submitted in writing via text). We spoke on the phone regarding a possible pick up the next day but I told him I would discuss it with my husband and would get back to him. Unfortunately, that night, we had a family emergency that we had to leave town for. 6/29- Without confirmation of picking up of the bar (without an offer of a refund) to fix it; the owner allegedly showed up at our house to pick up the damaged unit (our security system does not have him pulling in our driveway or being near our house) . After some not too nice text messages (which I really did not want to deal with on top of what was already going on), we agreed on an amount for the settlement so I could pay someone to fixed the damaged unit ($150 via text). This was in JUNE. I provided the cc number for reimbursement and assumed it would have been processed. At the middle of the month, no refund. At the end of the month, I received a big surprise when the refund was still not on our billing statement. I called from my work phone to ask about the refund but do not have the dates/times. 7/31- When I reached back out to the owner, he said that he would give the refund. He simply "did see that I sent over the cc info" in a text message that had my credit card number immediately above it. He told me he was out of town and would not be able to do the refund. 8/1- Owner said he did not have my information to issue a refund, despite the info being in the same text string (6/29). He stated he was out of town and would issue the refund. 8/2- in order to protect the timing for credit dispute, we filed a claim to resolve the commitment that the owner provided but never delivered. Owner has been asking me to cancel my claim so that he can provide a refund. over 3 months later.. no resolution

Really took time to help me find what I needed. Everyone was so GENUINE and friendly. I wish I wrote down the cashiers name, but Ethan, Austin, you guys made my weekend. I hope Tractor Supply realizes how incredibly lucky they are to have people like you guys on their team. You've earned my business for life.

When living in a condo one does NOT worry about the lawn, the snow etc. So when we bought the condo most of my outdoor tools went to other family members or friends including a pretty darn nice snowblower. So last year when we settled in (Feb 2021) we found ourselves needing stuff or hiring it done. Could not find a snow blower late in the season but started looking just the same and with urgency before the winter of 2022-23 begins. In the Oxford area I have been dealing a lot with Tractor Supply and Ace Hardware. Both are convenient and close to my house, both have excellent customer service from the time you walk in AND pricing is competitive if not exact to the big box stores like Home Depot. What I really liked here above the other stores was I was able to touch and feel, compare to other brands for myself. When I asked questions, they had answers. Lastly, I just had recent knee replacement surgery. There was no way I could lift in or out of my truck. Help?!?! Of course they would deliver and did. Thank you TSC for being able to accommodate me

We like to try…read morethe different thrift stores near us so today we traveled from Sterling Heights to this Salvation Army in Oxford. I would have given 5 stars but I dinged one star for two reasons: the prices at all Salvation Army's has jumped AND they have removed the option to buy jewelry! I really should take away two stars for the removal of jewelry! They used to sell sunglasses, watches, jewelry and other unique pieces behind the glass area (not sure, I forget what it is called when someone has to help you when something is behind glass). A few months ago or last year we noticed Salvation Army would bag a bunch of jewelry up in one bag and say it was $70 or $100 - um, really? You couldn't see the pieces and WTH, why do you think we are at a thrift store...like I have $100 for a guess what's in here bag? There is plenty of parking, the employees are professional and kind. The store is well laid out lots of options for buying...ahem, minus jewelry!

Of course, like any thrift/donation store, there are a lot of questionable garments and items that sit on the racks for months as well as items from shady brands like Shein. This is in no way their fault, of course, but it is something to mention because, yeah, there's a LOT of Shein. However, there has not been a single time where I haven't found several QUALITY pieces of clothing for me and my family. I always find genuinely nice items here from brands that I wouldn't be able to afford retail as well as more common brands, and my favorite, vintage! I love being able to enjoy shopping sustainably here and helping add less clothing to the landfill a few miles away!

Found some glass jar containers with metal lids on them, but the glass is much heavier than I was hoping for. Still on the hunt for a tin container with a see-through lid and secure clasp. Text convo with a friend this evening:…read more Me: Unrelated to anything I just spent 2 hours at the Container Store and have never been happier. Friend: Wherever we can find peace! Ahh, peace. I don't know the meaning of the word. Though I'm trying! As a maximalist gal with ADHD in a small house I'm forever in search of an organizational and functional storage plan I can stick with. Through much introspection and many self help books I recently realized my issue is "if I can't see it, it doesn't exist." Which means I'm forever buying cans of black beans when what I really need is great northern and constantly getting takeout because "there's nothing in this house to eat." So, with this new clarity in hand, I've taken to overhauling my kitchen in the new year. And the Container Store has been clutch in providing solutions to my storage issues. A pantry that requires a step ladder to reach? How about a pull down spice rack? Deep drawers without dividers? How about stacking bins so I can use the vertical space, too? Expired baking ingredients from the last time I tried to reorganize but didn't realize until it was too late that the jars I put everything in don't stack effectively, leaving a teetering mess I've been afraid to disturb? How about a baking pantry storage set with equal sized widths for easy stacking? (And built in brown sugar softeners and powdered sugar sifters, too! Be still my heart!). Weird corner cabinets that are deep caves of awkward, oft unused space? Why not some pull out shelving storage? And so much more! Jar openers! Lemon keepers! Fancy pens! NOTEBOOKS AND PLANNERS! Omg. I haven't even begun to talk about the craft storage. What's not to love??? Well, ok. I guess the prices. Which can be high. But they carry many solutions I can't find anywhere else so sometimes I have to bite the bullet and pony up. I do my best to try and stick to their in-house products to save a bit of scratch tho. And becoming a rewards member will net you some solid coupons now and again. In fact, today I happened to have a 25% off coupon so I stocked up on those deep drawer organizers. It took me a while to find the right combo/configurations for our unusually sized cabinetry but I think I figured it out thanks to the countertop they have with grids to help you easily measure. Very handy. Staff here is lovely and ever so helpful. It's never a cheap visit here but it's always a beneficial one. And hey, thanks to my new pantry risers and lists of items we have taped to the inside door (another new trick!) I now know we have 7 cans of black beans, 4 of which are low sodium, and the last time I went to the grocery I got the right beans at last.
