SPENT 4 HOURS HERE and not on purpose !! Put my name on the waitlist at 10:26 am for 4 people. The host mentioned it would be a least an hour wait. Not a problem, my group and I kept busy. They have cute picnic tables behind the parking lot to the right of the cafe for people to wait. Our buzzer rang at around 11:50 am to be seated. It's a cute little diner, you can see and feel the twilight vibes all over. It was smaller than I had imagined, maybe 6-8 tables and a bar that sat 4. We placed our order, recieved our beverages all within 10 minutes of sitting. There was an ant in one of our waters. We ordered strawberry lemonade, recieved regular lemonade. At some point we did notice tables with no food and began paying attention. After an hour of watching, no food had came out the kitchen that entire time. I didn't complain to the servers about a thing because their faces and demeanor showed how little interest in making this experience a good one. They seemed to be high schoolers or younger adults. After another 45 minutes our food came out. The cheese on top of our omelette was ice cold. I ordered O'Brien potatoes (traditionally square cut potatoes) but recieve hash browns with veggies. A side of toast was missing from our order, which took at least 20 minutes. I saw the server walking around the entire diner trying to figure out who it belonged too, didn't ask a single person at any of the tables. I mentioned to another server that i believed it was the one we were missing, she confirmed it was. At that point, we had finished our plates but yes we wanted our toast. I've been in the restaurant/food service industry for 10 years. I completely understand minor mistakes and that sometimes things happen, i also understand it was busy. I don't blame the servers, it's who ever owns or is running the place. As a high volume tourist attraction they need a better system in place. Not having one creates a negative experience not only for customers but for employees also. We got checked on twice the entire time, not one apology or explanation as to why it was taking long. There's no music playing so you felt the tension through the silence of the establishment. The reviews are correct they close at 2 pm and stop seating at 1 pm. I saw a few people get turned down. As I was paying, there was a couple trying to talk the server into allowing them to wait for a table. The girl they were speaking too said "there's a little wait right now, they need to catch up on food". To me that's a whole different statement, than what I had just experience. I was honest with them and let them know what they were possibly in store for if they chose to stay. I saw a few people at muhltonomah falls that were at the diner and asked about their experience because maybe I was being crazy.. I wasn't. They had the same the exact same experience. It's a bummer that it went this way, i was very excited, its a lesson learned, I wish i read the bad reviews and not just rely on tik tok research. Had I known, i would have came taken pictures and just left. Why didn't I because I was already in too deep and decided to gamble with waiting.

The food and the atmosphere were both 10/10. Our table got a mix of breakfast and lunch and we were all very pleased by both options. We got there around 1pm on a Thursday and we got seated right away. Our waitress recommended the strawberry milkshake and it was so good. The cafe is quite small but I would definitely recommend this place out for the food and of course if you are a twilight fan!

If you're a Twilight fan, Carver Cafe is a must-visit Just be sure to make a reservation--this place is tiny and gets busy fast. We ended up at the bar top (which was actually a cool spot), and the servers were super friendly and welcoming. Now, let's talk food... or rather, the wait for food. We got our drinks right away, but our meals took over an hour to arrive. Watching the kitchen was like watching a game of roulette--the order wheel just kept spinning and spinning, and it didn't seem like there was much rhyme or reason to the order tickets. Definitely felt a little chaotic back there. The building itself is full of charm, but also very old--so heads up: if you have mobility issues, access is limited, and the restrooms aren't wheelchair accessible. On a brighter note, the Twilight fan art around the cafe is awesome! So many fun, creative tributes from fellow fans. We heard there's a guest book you can sign too--but we totally forgot to ask in the excitement! As for the food: solid diner-style fare. Nothing fancy, but it hits the spot. I thought the Corned Beef Hash was tasty. If you're a die-hard or even semi-Twilight fan, it's worth a quick stop for the vibes and a few pics. But if they're packed and you're starving... maybe snap your photos and grab food elsewhere.

    Waiting for my Hamburger!

I had read so many reviews beforehand that I honestly thought we got lucky ! My family and I went, and the place was practically empty. There were just a couple of older folks and a man who looked like he might've been off work (though I doubt he was really there for Twilight ). We even got to sit at the famous table! The waitress and manager (not sure which, maybe both!) were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even brought out a special book filled with Twilight things, which was such a cool touch. To be honest, my sister is the real super fan--she's read all the books and was in heaven. I've only seen the movies, but even I thought it was pretty neat to see her so happy! Now, let's talk about the food the hamburgers are AMAZING! Seriously, you have to try them. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service made the whole experience even better. We also had the freedom to take as many pictures as we wanted, which was perfect for capturing the memories. Overall, we truly got lucky with the timing, and it turned out to be such an amazing experience. Everyone was friendly, the food was incredible, and the Twilight vibes were just the cherry on top. I'd definitely recommend going on a weekday if you can, it made the visit even more special!

Food is nothing spectacular. Just ordinary diner food. Ambiance is the same. Service is also the same. Let's face it, most people come here because of Twilight. Brought my nieces here who are huge Twilight fans. We got lucky and we were seated fairly quickly. Disappointed that the specific twilight table was occupied. Unfortunately it was occupied by two people and it clearly can seat 6. There were 5 of us and was seated at a table for 4. I had to pull up a 5th chair and move every time the waitress had to come by. A bit annoying. All and all it wasn't a terrible experience. I'm definitely not coming here again unless there's another twilight fan with me who just HAS to go.

    Signature book!

My family had a great time! We went in with the expectations to wait a long time for a seat and food (I recommend setting this expectation as well). However, it was quite opposite! We arrived around 11:15am on a Thursday and got seated immediately. I HIGHLY recommend a weekday! Could not stress this enough. Got lucky and sat at THE table in the movie! So fortunate and I thank the people around for being patient with my family and I to finish eating to take photos! They do deny people around 1pm since I think they close the kitchen by then. I recommend respecting this, as I saw a group get denied a table around 1pm. The wait was to be expected for diner food, about 40 minutes which my family had no issue with. It is a small cafe. You can take photos, flip through the signature book, and just take it all in while you wait. (Please get Bella's Berry Cobbler!!) Overall, I understand the great and bad ratings, but it really is situational and if you're even just a small twilight fan, it's worth checking out! Again, go in with expectations of wait times and simple diner/cafe food!

For this spot being a tourist spot for twilight lovers its really disappointing how they handle the establishment. If a restaurant is going to close at 2, then customers coming in at 1pm should be able to order right? Apparently not. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by an unhappy girl who told us they are no longer taking people because their kitchen closes at 1. This is the first time I ever heard of a restaurant doing this but, wow. No apology, and its so unfortunate because I'm sure so many people come from all over to visit this place. Save yourself the trouble- take your pictures and leave to a nicer establishment. Food did not look good, and staff was not friendly whatsoever. So unfortunate this is the review I have to leave for a place I was so excited to try but it just isn't worth it.

I loved it here. Very quaint and homey feel. Staff were nice and the food was fantastic! There is a bit of a wait but I personally don't mind considering it was quite literally a set in a famous movie and there was a limited number of staff.

Cute spot, iconic for Twilight fans! Always a line so plan to wait a little, but worth it. It's small and cozy and a nice outdoors area to eat or wait. Great food! Would definitely come back.

    Oregon omelette with hash browns

I had such a great experience at this restaurant. My Twilight-loving heart was happy to be seated at the same table where Charlie and Bella ate in the movie. Apart from that, Sienna welcomed me and my husband as soon as we walked in and were immediately sat down. The cafe is small but cozy. I ordered the Oregon omelette and my husband ordered the pastrami sandwich. The Oregon omelette was so tasty. The eggs were so fluffy and the hashbrowns were nice and crispy. The pastrami was served hot with French fries and that was super tasty too. The cafe is quaint and has Twilight themed art on the walls. It's super cute and they don't mind customers taking all the pictures we want!

It was my and my sister in laws first time here at Carver cafe. Obviously we came here for twilight vibes and it was nice and beautiful. The employees there were nice but the one who helped us, I believe is the owner. She was an older lady. She was nice to us and sat us at the counter. However, what really made me changed my mind of the owner was when the employee was trying to set up the drinks for their customer, and the owner TOOK A SIP from one of those drinks. I thought "oh maybe it's for herself". She GAVE the drink to a customer. After that I felt so skeptical about her and just felt uncomfortable with her. Also as we were waiting for our food, I saw how rude she can be with her employees. She would tell her employee to "move" in a rude way and would tell them "I don't know if that table was help. I don't know who's been helped. Don't ask me. I'm trying to finish with this other table. " and that would be it. She would not explain herself nor give any guidance to her employees. She does not communicate what she needs help with so it didn't make sense. She seemed very stressed and disorganized. Her employee just took notepad and went to go help the tables and took their orders. After they were done, the owner took the menus BACK to the customers and I saw their confusion and would mentioned that they had already taken their orders. Other than that the food was alright. I don't trust the owner with food and drinks. The twilight scene was very cool and nice. If it wasn't for the twilight vibes, I'm sure this business would not be thriving.

We went to go visit and wanted to be the first people to arrive after reading that it is hard to get seated. My friend and I both got Alice's french toast with a side of hash browns. Best food i had in Portland. Looking out the window it was so beautiful and foggy. I would come again !

My friends and I arrived here at 11 AM today and when we walked into Carver Café, we were not greeted by anyone at all. The workers treated us as if we were ghost until we finally flagged somebody down and asked them if we could get a table for three she done rudely told us that if we wanted a table, we should've gotten here at 7:30 AM because people lineup at the door at 7:30 AM and get reservations mind you at 11 AM. The restaurant was a ghost town and they close at 2 PM. Nobody else was in the couple other people. I personally would not waste my time going all the way over here if it is out of reach for you to come. The kitchen in the back looked dirty and the food items they were using looks low quality. They're all riding on a twilight scene that was filmed here, but had the audacity to treat customers who wanted to dine in like pieces of nothing.

It turned out, it's a place for people to play video games, and relax! More like a Dotty's Restaurant. But, the woman behind the counter greeted us right away, even though she was with a customer, and handed us a menu, even though we were already reading what was on the wall. I was observing her, because in places like this type of restaurants, you'll never know, right? Whatever she was tending to, I noticed: she always washed her hands with soap & towel dry. That's a plus, specially we're still in the COVID, but not masking . . . as much. She was friendly! Our sandwiches: I ordered Turkey, wrote everything down. Hubby ordered hamburger, wrote everything down. Which is same filling as mine, with or without onions, mustard and/or ketchup. "Ketchup on a turkey sandwich?" Not me! Others are so weird, yes they'll have it on turkey, too! LOL I couldn't believe, the sandwiches were fixed like I would at home! It is no wonder, I was taking big bites, and ate it all up. It was so good! I was hungry! Or that was probably why I was taking big bites! I put the rest of my chips in my bag! Hubby also got a Twinkie and Hostess Cream Filled Cupcake. I was a Twinkie Princess in HS, so I picked the Twinkie. $1 each. Water is Free. Soda $1 each. Then, she asked me also, if I wanted a pickle on the side. I said of course! We made sure, we didn't missed any thing! We got to talking about the Lucky Bamboo, and I showed her mine, same age, same style, same height. (This time, while she was eating a burito-style, she's having lunch, everyone has that right). It was a after 2pm. I didn't have anything to say about the restroom. We'll be back! My wife ordered the Aunt Tillie's Club, which she saw online and was the impetus for our visit, whereas I waffled between the tuna melt and the Aunt Tillie's Special (basically a grinder), eventually settling on the latter. Both of us were in heaven: sizeable portions, fresh bread, just enough condiments, and plenty of toppings to go around! My wife thought she was going to have to take a least half of it home, then changed her mind and powered through, leaving nothing behind! We dined just outside the restaurant proper, on one of the patio tables in the "mall", but there is plenty of seating inside (just not enough to accommodate the rush, it seems), plus a quaint little pub at the back that is easy to miss, but adds another layer to an already charming sandwich shop. We were both so impressed by the entire experience, that we are guaranteed to return, likely sooner than later! Very recommended!
