Absolutely love Carvel in Selden! The ice cream is always fresh, delicious, and perfectly creamy, and the cakes are amazing. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always make the experience even better. If you're craving delicious ice cream, this is definitely the place to go. So many delicious soft serve flavors. Highly recommend Carvel in Selden read more

Service service service. I come to this place always knowing something will be wrong. 1st time reviewing, ask for a dasher, tell her the type and what I'd like on it. They don't serve it anymore in the clear cup. I'm gone, now I was going with the intent to get it anyway but her rudeness was enough for me to walk out and probably contact corporate and wait till Mr. Softer opens up. Bad food, got it wrong is whatever for me, rudeness, you'll never get my money again. read more

We have always loved this place. Unfortunately they have decided to cut down on ALL toppings to less then HALF of what they had always giving. Plus they raised the prices. SHRINKFLATION. Goodbye Carvel. read more

The BEST carvel around. I've been coming here for years and have been able to meet the owner numerous times and see firsthand the hard work she puts into her store. It's clean, has quality products and beautiful cakes you will not find anywhere else. & it shows with old and new customers who remain loyal to this Carvel. - Behind every yelp review section is a disgruntled former employee. Jack L./ aka Kristen..below me who left that negative review..is clearly one of the bitter ones who can't seem to shake off some serious uncalled- for resentment. It's a shame to see someone spew out hatred and straight lies about an owner and business who always goes above and beyond for her customers AND employees. This store deserves ALL the credit and praise for being the absolute best out there. Come in and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed. read more

Polite owners, so I hate to leave this review but after about 4 visits, I need to. The portions here are very skimpy. I'm not one of those people who expects large portions, but the soft serve ice cream didn't even touch the insides of the cup. And they need to thoroughly mix the flavors before serving. My pistachio ice cream was dark green in some spots and solid white in others. (It was a bad reminder of all of the artificial coloring in the ice cream.) I noticed in the reviews that other Carvel locations are more generous with their portions, so I will drive the extra distance and go there instead. read more

My husband and I had our wedding cake made by the Selden Carvel and it did not disappoint. We aren't big cake people but we love us a good Carvel ice cream cake. We met with the owner Cheryl about our wedding cake, and she was simply fantastic. She was excited to be part of our big day and had so many ideas for us. Cheryl is truly so kind, friendly, and enjoys what she does. Our wedding cake was not only beautiful but also DELICIOUS. We got soooooo many compliments on swapping out the traditional cake for a Carvel cake. Such a wonder experience. Highly recommend the Selden Carvel and Cheryl for any special occasion. read more

The things I've heard about this place and went in to see if they were true and they were that place is absolutely disgusting and the people working there are disrespectful. Every Wednesday we get our large sundaes and I tell my husband NOT to go to the Selden Carvel for 2 reasons; their soft serve tastes terrible and they certainly don't give you your money worth! Never again after last night, just awful. read more

Had an opportunity to visit this quaint Carvels with my two Nephews that had never been treated to an Ice Cream Sundae!?!!! Soooo, found this one, and boy am I glad I did. The young man that was in there was so patient, and even showed me the various new flavors, i.e . Pistachio, which is one of my favorites. He took his time with the boys explaining the items, and also how Wednesday was the big 2 for one Sundae deal. We talked some more, even speaking with a Gentleman that had recently lost his Wife and moved from Florida at his kid's urging. He seemed a little down, and hopefully we perked him up a little, at least knowing that there is Kindness everywhere. Oh yeah, back to the Carvel Shop... I highly recommend this Family owned one in particular because not only is the Ice Cream Fantastic....the Company is too! Can't find that everywhere!!! I'll be back !!!! read more

Cheryl is amazing!!!! She made me the most beautiful special birthday cake I have ever had!! She is so accommodating and thoughtful!!! Her night staff is exceptional as well as her day staff!! I highly recommend this carvel!! the store is immaculate and very friendly!!! read more

Came here on a hot day for some ice cream. They did have a huge selection of stuff but nothing looked super appetizing so we ended up with the soft serve. They advertise that they make 16 flavors but i only notice like 5 available. I always get the soft serve dipped in chocolate to form the hard shell like on the ice cream trucks but they don't offer it here so that was disappointing! read more

If you want carvel, go to the CENTEREACH one. Second time i came here and they rip you off, putting half the toppings in the carvelanch and charging you for a small cone when its only two tiers, kids size. Would give 0 stars if I could. Just got two sundaes and the woman working, I think she honestly might be the owner, was nasty, rude and unpleasant. Sighed and rolled her eyes at me when I ordered something else and acting like I was a complete inconvenience. Would never go back just because she is a BIOTCCCHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Edit: and the sundae was ass. read more

This Carvel is robbing its customers!!! DO NOT buy your Father's Day Fudgie the whale here. This Carvel charges ($38.99) $9 MORE than Centereach ($29.99) or Farmingville ($29.99) Carvel. That's a BIG difference for the exact same cake. Matter of fact almost all the cakes cost more at this Carvel than the others near by. Check for yourself read more

This is my favorite Carvel of all time! I don't understand all of these negative comments below... The store is immaculate the cakes are beautifily designed. The owner Cheryl is so warm and welcoming! I have been coming to this store for years and I highly recommend you all stop by and see for yourself. I'd give this store 10 stars if I could. read more

aweful!! I ordered a hot fudge sundae w/ caramel sauce and colored sprinkles.. What I got was milk w/ a sprinkle and a glob of hot fudge - all for the low price of 8 and change.. wtf! I almost told her to keep it, especially since I really came in for butter pecan, but found cases of black holes staring back at me where tubs of ice cream should be - but she was super nice and I am a sucker. She asked me if I wanted a bag and my inside my head voice said "uh yeah considering half the 'ice cream' is on the side of the cup instead of inside the cup!" but alas - I only said "yes, please" Then I stomped back to my car drove home and drank my sundae. grrr read more

This carvel came highly recommended by a coworker for their custom birthday cakes. My daughter was having a vampirina themed birthday and I needed a custom cake. The owner, Cheryl, did not have a vampirina cake already done so she told me to email her an image and she would put it on the cake. She remained in contact with me to make sure she had all the details right and I have to say I was beyond happy with what she came up with. She even texted me a pic of the cake the day before to make sure I was happy with it and also to make sure my daughter's name was spelled correctly. That's customer service. read more

Will NEVER step foot in this place again after the nasty and rude way my family and I were treated..spoke to the owner and was so incredibly taken back by the way she spoke to me all over $8.45 (of which she wouldn't take the gift card) I had she claimed it was used...came hone and called number on card and the money I told her was on it was somehow miraculously on the card when I called....Hhhmmmmmm! All of the ice cream we got melted and we never got to eat it together as a family, it went right in garbage!!! The owner got her money and we got garbage!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN! My son wanted a Carvel cake for his birthday....I told him we will go elsewhere I won't give Selden a penny of my money! read more

Rude custoner service. Older woman behind counter got defensive when i asked the young man with glasses (i think his name was jordan) why he rolled his eyes when i asked him for a few samples of the ice cream for my toddler. The male worker must be her son because her reaction was swift and aggressive. Jordan, learn some manners. read more

I recently went into this Carvel while visiting family, Wow, was I impressed!! This store was so clean, so inviting and had such a variety of ice cream and toppings. Person in back wasn't wearing gloves or mask while working.. how do you expect customers to wear it if you don't as an employee?

Awful. Went in and the place was empty. There were 5 employees there and not a single one even greeted us, asked for our order or even made eye contact. What a disgusting place! Its very obvious the owner of this place does not care much about this operation. It was filthy, not all the soft serve machines were running, and top it off my 'hot' fudge sundae was just milk soup with chocolate syrup. This place is an embarrassment to the franchise. read more

I live in selden and drive to the Carvel in Ronkonkoma! The owner of the Carvel in selden is beyond nasty. She gives her customers an attitude and yells at her employees in front of the customers. I went there tonight last minute and she filled my cup half way and charged me $6 her work ethic is horrible and she should really think about her customers who pay the money for her buisness to stay open. If you dont care about how much product you get for your money then go here. If you dont want to watse your money go to Ronkonkoma Carvel. read more

Nasty Girl behind counter, acted like she was doing me a favor, and icecream was half melted sliding down cone on floor. The only satifaction I got was hoping the nasty girl had to clean it, but from the looks of the place, it doesnt look like they clean much. Contacted Health dept. read more

I will never go this ice cream shop again. The woman behind the counter presumably the owner is beyond rude. It's to bad because my family and I would go there quite often.
