I've been a longtime customer of Carvel in Franklin Square, and I want to start by saying that the staff has always been friendly, professional, and welcoming. Their customer service is one of the main reasons I continue to visit. Unfortunately, I've noticed a significant decline in the quality of the ice cream recently. The texture has been noticeably slushy and icy rather than smooth and creamy, which is not the standard I've come to expect from Carvel. Based on my experience, it appears there may be an issue with the freezer or temperature control equipment affecting the product quality. I'm sharing this feedback because I genuinely enjoy this location and would like to see it return to the high standards that made it a favorite in the community. The team deserves recognition for their excellent service, but the ice cream quality needs immediate attention. I hope management investigates the issue and makes the necessary improvements. Went in for the bogo buy one Sunday get one free. Service was ok 2 young girls working, but really didn't seem like they wanted to work they were playing around when we went in. Didn't have brownies for brownie Sunday didn't have bananas for banana splits.. what ice cream place doesn't have these 2 items? Good deal on Sundays for Wednesday but don't believe it was worth the trip to this store. Not for me, don't recommend but go ahead and give it a try if you want to take a chance. Craving the smooth, cool, creamy goodness of a fabulously fresh soft serve Pistacho or Strawberry ice cream from Carvel?!?! Yes this is a total rarity, especially at the majority of locations you walk into, unless they were recently making a batch of flying saucers. Although would have to say when I get this specific crave that only Carvel serves up with their smooth tasty soft serve blend, YES no crunchy nuts to get in way of great flavor, I can most times guarantee that Carvel of Franklin Square on Franklin Avenue will have it. Oh and course this particular random stop in they indeed did, HOORAY! :) As a little girl I always liked the 'Pink' ice cream (Strawberry) and would get upset when in one of those generic 3 flavored half gallons that my dad would get from the supermarket (to satisfy all family members likes)that the 'brown' flavor, chocolate was touching it. Everyone knows, even kids that chocolate flavor ice cream will always mix into the other flavors to be the dominant flavor ingredient, making everything taste like chocolate. :/ Nevertheless, as I grew older and worked in an ice cream focused restaurant for over 7 years, I learned to appreciate other flavors, even ones that had bits of things in it. Although even with finding new favorites like Pistachio and Moca Chunk, Carvel's soft serve Pistacho & Strawberry are by far this brands best flavors. In my opinion they should make their delicious ice cream cakes out of them. How about it Carvel?? Start out making it a summertime special where for a limited time people could buy an all Strawberry or all Pistachio ice cream cake with your fabulous signature crunches (I know sorta chocolate, but they work and are good) in the middle. You could probably go crazy and make a mixed combo Strawberry/Pistachio one and people like me would totally look to buy it! Everything just went right with this visit. The young lady who assisted me was flawless. I was in and out within 40 to 45 seconds. So yeah workers are eating taco bell on the freezer while serving customers...and yeah they are on thier Apple laptop computers and iphones...and yeah sometimes theres an acidic chemical taste similar to disinfectant coming out of the strawberry soft serve but at the end of the road its sugar! The store is notorious of all kind of customer theft. ranging from under portioning to over charging. About a year ago I sent Cravel Corp a picture of half filled softserve cup and a business manager called me back and said that he hate going to that store because the surrounding ground feels like "walking on the moon" and the owner refuses to remodel or upgrade the store inside (old machines) nor outside. This week they charged my wife for medium cups and she bought the small ones, my wife asked for a receipt and report it to Carvel Corp., it has been a week and no one called us back. This carvel gives you a stingy amount of soft ice cream in your waffle cone. I went back in and got a waffle bowl and they are still playing the stingy game. I will not go there again. My favorite carvels in order are Plainview, Wantagh, West Hempstead. I am judging them by how much they fill the cones. read more

DO NOT go to this Carvel! The owner is extremely nasty. He is also cheap and lazy. He will not accept Carvel coupons. I had called to order a custom cake for the following day, the owner said I had to pick up one of the cakes that they already have made. I tried to explain to him that I wanted something different. He said he couldn't help me. I called another Carvel and they were extremely helpful and said that they can have my custom cake ready for me the following afternoon. It was April 21 and it was free cone day from 3 to 8 pm. I got off of work at 4 and decided to stop at this carvel on my way home. When I got there there was no available parking spot in the lot so I had to park down the street .
