Writing an update. In agreement with a previous Yelp reviewer. The service is not as top-notch as I'd expected. If you are busy like myself, this Tailor is not the place for you. I see what the previous Yelper is saying now when he mentioned it takes 6 visits to get a suit. Mind you; I am driving from Mississauga to get my suit, and the service is pointless. Visit 1: Get fitted (1 min process). Visit 2: Fitted for a shirt (1 min process, however it took 30 due to chat). All in all, there is a reason why I pay thousands to get my suits at Harry Rosen. The service is 5 stars, and they do not waste your time. Harry Rosen is 2 visits MAX. I am beginning to lose patience with this business and their disorganization. Get a computerized system! It's 2016. Update...... Still waiting for my suit. TIP: Call this place for updates, they most definitely will not be calling you. read more

Awful old man. I went with my bf to look for a suit at 7 pm. We said we were looking for a black suit, and he showed one to us. He told us the price which was good. my bf and I looked at each other to discuss if that's what he was looking for, we didn't even get a word out to each other before he did a 180 and started yelling for us to get out. We were shocked cause we didn't say anything except wow when he told us how much the suit was cause his price was good. He started going on about how Jewish tailors are good liars because they make people buy at high prices and he has 7000 customers, he doesn't need money. I'm not sure what suddenly crawled up his ass for him to behave this way. We work hard for our money and won't just throw it away because He showed us one suit. I guess he thought that's all we needed to see? I don't even know what happened. we were in there for15 mins if that long. It was strange and I wouldn't recommend going back there and giving your business to such a loose cannon. read more

I chose Caruso Fine Tailors for my wedding, and the brothers cut me the best fitting suit I've ever owned. The service was warm and bespoke. From helping me choose the right wool and liner material, to fielding my questions over a complimentary espresso, the experience at Caruso was immaculate. They've made a customer for life. read more

Went in at a friend's referral I tell them what I'm looking for, and the old man offers me a suit, reasonably priced. enters younger (middle aged) man: tells shows me other options that i may like. i pick a suit of my liking, man mentions nothing of price, continues to take measurements and mark suit for tailoring. Under the assumption that the suits are generally in a similar ballpark (hence, no mention of price), at checkout, charges close to double what was initially quoted. when i ask about price difference, admits the old man was trying to sell off someone else's suit that was never picked up, giving me a "come on, he's old. forget what he said and take this deal" sort of explanation, not even an apology. left with a bitter taste in my mouth read more

I have been in and out of Caruso's for years as they often have decent styles and reasonable prices. If you're buying a suit or anything that requires a follow-up visit, buyer beware. They are extremely disorganized and keep all of their client notes in a rough unorganized sketch book that all of the family members scribble notes in. The implication of this is your order will often be forgotten or botched. E.g. A off the rack suit and shirt from them took me 6 visits. Visit 1: Pick suit and get measured for shirt. Visit 2: Suit needs some adjusting (jacket a bit baggy, nothing out of the ordinary). Shirt isn't there, get re-measured for shirt. Visit 3: Suit looks pretty good but they forgot to measure the pant length and they look to long. Shirt order also can't be found and neither can the size. Get re-measured again. "Brother these are the best shirts in the city" reassurance received. Visit 4: Suit is ready and looks good. Shirt order lost, forgotten, etc... I tell them it's ridiculous "Brother no worries we've got you". Visit 5: Shirt arrives but isn't a slim fit as requested. Shirt needs to be left for darting. "Brother, these are the best shirts in the city" Visit 6: A decent suit and a nicely darted shirt all ready to go. Conclusion: If you're incredibly patient and local this shop could work for you. If aren't local and have other options available to you then check out another shop as the service here is a mess. read more

These guys are fantastic. We walked in there one day by a fluke and so glad we did. It is a family run business of 35 years with great prices, design, and personality. Because of our time and budget, we were initially going to the Bay or Sears, but so glad we came here instead. Even the sale prices at the department stores can't beat what Caruso can offer with the quality and their time & attention. They are very knowledgeable, and their service is fantastic! The family is so nice. Will come back for sure, and can't recommend it highly enough. We ended up doing a one stop shop there because they just had everything we needed. read more

Absolutely amazing. Had a bespoke 3-piece suit handmade with English Super 140s wool for over $850 less than a 3-piece Canali that I purchased from Korry's down the street - a Canali that was pre-made and had to be tailored, and is now back at Korry's to fix some of the tailoring they did when I bought it. Mr. Caruso's suit is beautiful, fits like a glove, and all of the details are perfectly done (i.e. pinstripes lined up at the shoulder seams, extra stitching for strength on the surgeon's cuffs, just enough padding to square off my offset shoulders, etc.). He's knowledgeable and can take you through the details of every fabric in the store. I've already ordered another suit to be made and will probably have 2 more made in the new year. He also did an excellent job of tailoring a suit I purchased from Moore's a while back - he took it from baggy to fitted and it was ready the next day. Alterations are on the higher end of the price spectrum, but the quality of the work that goes into them is definitely worth the money. As for service, I don't know what happened with the other reviewers on this site because I've been treated well from the moment I walked in with a suit that needed to be altered. Unlike some other men's stores, there was no pressure to look at or buy anything. I ended up ordering a suit simply because a certain fabric caught my eye. I had the same great service before I said I wanted a suit made, so I know that they are genuine and not nice only because I bought a bespoke suit. It's a family business and the banter between Mr. Caruso and his kids is hilarious. I won't go anywhere else anymore. read more

Came here to get the sleeves of two dress shirts shortened and was also suggested to have the torso of one shortened. Total came to about $45, which is very expensive. The first time I came, the place was empty so the lady was attentive. The second time I came to pick up the shirts, a group of men were trying to get suits for a wedding and I was practically ignored for ten minutes. At least have the courtesy to acknowledge your customers that walk in the door. Needlessly to say I won't be coming back here. read more

Bottom line: if you want passable work for a moderate price along with the worst customer service in the city, shop here. Details: I initially went to Caruso's as it was highly recommended. The suits I tried on here were not my style so I chose to shop elsewhere. But I knew I'd get my suit alterations here because again, highly recommended and local so I thought it would be good to offer them business. When I came back with a suit to ask for some alterations, I had two of the worst experiences from a store possibly ever. The gentlemen who was there both times made me feel rushed and was completely uninterested in answering some basic questions. I also needed a few details for the suit (tie, shoes) and despite the possible business I was offering, again was rushed and made to feel like an idiot for not knowing information about their business (like the fact that all their shoes were the same company and therefore if one didn't fit, none would...). When I came back to pick up my suit after alterations, the staff were again rude and disinterested. The alterations were fine but nothing to write home about. Steer clear of this place. read more
