Lester took his time and explained everything to this '90s car guy, breaking down how to make a system really rock these days. It was a very enjoyable interaction. We bought everything we needed that day at reasonable prices. He even mentioned that I'd probably be back for better subs since the ones my son had installed were older--and he was right. They always mess up with the billing and then you have to deal with Smart Start's horrible customer service to get the issue resolved (which they never do). Then I get there and first and foremost the little gremlin line fellow that came from the installation department was really rude. These people don't care about their customers. Their post sale service is horrible. They try to sell you things you don't need. One of the consultants told me "we could've easily sold you XYZ but we didn't" like I should be grateful they didn't scam me. They broke a huge hole in my trunk deck saying it was necessary, however they never confirmed it through me. I found out AFTER like they were trying to hide it from me. There was a rattle like they left something loose on the side panel and they said theres nothing they can do and tried to sell me on dynamatt; however the rattle is not from the subs as I turned them off and it still rattles. These people do not care about customer service nor about keeping happy customers. Once they get paid they start giving you attitude. Hi-line is down the block and give way better prices for the same product and way better service. BE ADVISED. STAY AWAY. read more

Went there last week to get price to run wire from a WindRestrictor, a glass that illuminates That you install between seats to restrict too much air from blowing on a convertible, to brake lights. Guy said they don't do that type of work. WTF, they either work with wiring or not. Quoted me 95 an hour and it would take two hours to run the wires to the rear lights. I asked if he was kidding. He said BMWs are built like a tank. My little Z4 roadster isn't a tank. Next day I decided to do it myself. Took me five minutes to do an expert job. I didn't connect the wires since that part is beyond my knowledge, but getting someone to do it won't be a problem. I also wanted to install new stereo, but they weren't letting people in their store even with masks on. I'll stick with Tint World on University. Those people go out of their way for you and their prices are reasonable. read more

Very upset. Cartronics has been my families go to when they need some work done. I originally did my HID head lights with them 2 years ago. And I came back yesterday at 11 am to drop off my car.. passenger head light was blown. It ended up being a blown bulb. Come to find out they couldn't find out what was wrong with the head light. It still DOESNT WORK btw . I came yesterday to pick up my car around 5:30p, my car was still in pieces but they already had told me that the light was not going to work and all that was left to do was to put it back together. I didn't leave not until 6:30pm due to the fact that Ivy the lady that works there kept telling me 15 more minutes , that lady is a joke. Before I left I asked her how much was it going to be she told me I was only going to be charged $30.00 I said okay . I came back today at 5p , finding out I have a balance of $80.00.. they some how ended up charging me for something else. Mind you my head lights still DONT WORK. I told the guy I was only being charged $30.00 per Ivy. Brenton told me ... they paper states , if it is the bulb - $30 If it is the blaster $45.00 The paper NEVER STATED 'that IT IS' before I left last night I made sure It was only $30.00 per ivy. Brenton making slick remarks with another customer saying ' people don't notice the value of gratitude' & ' people always complain when it's so cheap'? He was very racist , as if I was some white girl that had money to blow. And he thought by making third party remarks he was a comedian. I told him in his face if he had something to say please say it directly to me .. Is this guy serious my head light doesn't even work and I'm being charged twice as much than what was originally stated. As I was leaving , they didn't even direct me out of the warehouse , I could've crashed anything. The other guy is very rude. These people don't know customer service at all. They are very lazy and laid back . Where is Lester when you need him .. your business will fail because of the people trying conduct it in the Pines location. Today 1/16/15 i waited 10 or so mins just to speak to someone,after the shop told me they WOULD be able to do the soldering and heat wrapping it for $35. he then starts telling me they would not cover their work IF for some reason the soldering didn't work correctly. he then starts telling me that the PAC harness might not work at all for the wrangler. even though i had the unit specifically for the wrangler.... the guy then says he doesn't know much about the harness, even though he was on their website getting ready to order more of this brand and similar harnesses or checking their current stock of these in their shop for use.... he then once again says they won't cover the work or help troubleshoot the issue IF an issue occurs. Why would there be an issue if wires were soldered CORRECTLY ? At that point i was very annoyed and didn't trust the shop, he then tells me they would be unable to do the job that day even though prior he said they could have gotten it done today . i immediately grabbed my harnesses, and walked out thinking thank god i didn't let them do it. he seemed he was trying to scam me or something. read more

I was very surprised to read the negative comments that have been left. I bought a low end truck, no alarm, no power locks. I looked on line and found what I wanted. I thought I could install it myself but it was WAY more complicated then I thought. I brought my truck and the kit to them and spoke with Brenton. He came up with a price, and a date for completion. The day it was due they called in the morning to tell me it was a little more difficult then they planned and it would not be done on time. I appreciated that they were not going to rush just to get the job done so I told them they could have it another day. When completed he took the time to explain everything to me. He showed me pictures of what was done and the reason for the delay. By the way they did not charge me one extra dime for the extra time it took, they did not even try. I had my subwoofer randomly stop working and decided to see if these guys could help. Les came out within a moments notice and took his time looking around trying to figure out what the problem was. It ended up being something stupid, we have a high tech camper and had to reset it with a button we didn't know had anything to do with the sub. Very dishonest. After telling me $175 for 3 hrs of work, they took 6 hrs h charged $260. Oh, the kicker? My stereo hums and pops now because 'after' doing work for 6 hrs they debrief to tell me I needed to spend another $300. They're either inept or dishonest. STAY AWAY! ...& I'm a repeat customer. I went to install head lights and the quote was $130 when I dropped off the SUV upon pick up the bill jumped to $260 without even a phone call to ask if the extra charges were ok.. it doesn't end with that... I paid and was on my way later that night I turned my lights on to find out that I only had 15ft of visibility.. the lights installed weren't even alined! so I returned to be told by George that I "need to take it to Firestone" Cartronics is a joke they over charge and can't even aline headlamps!!! don't install headlights if you can't aline them... don't install alarms if you can't setup sensors. don't install radios if you can't tune them... read more

My husband and I were having difficulty with our Amp and Subwoofer working with our OEM Raxiom Headunit in our 2014 Ford Mustang GT. We were looking to purchase a aftermarket head unit to make the install a much simpler process. Cartronics was recommended to us by a gentleman at BestBuy after they couldn't provide us with the necessary parts to complete our project that day. We drove up to Cartronics right after we left Best buy, we had some difficulty finding the location however we found it after some looking around. We were left to browse their display and the products they had to offer. Lester approached us with a smile and asked if there was anything that he could help us with. My husband explained why we were there and the difficulties that we were having. Lester offered nothing but reassurance that what we were doing was correct and agreed that the solution would be in a new aftermarket head unit. Lester was happy to answer all my questions and even took the time to explain the install process. He offered alternatives to the products that he did not have in stock that day (p.s. i am still interested in the Maestro system). We left armed with the knowledge to compete the install ourselves as well as the equipment to finish the job. We got right to work after we got back home and completed the install ourselves that night. Lester and Ivy were both amazing and a pleasure to do business with, all the customers in the store were attended to and seemed very pleased with their service. This place will NOT back up their product or customers. I bought a stereo and speakers which I installed myself. Right away I noticed the CD's would "drag". I took the car to them and the owner of the business told me I had a bad alternator......I do not. Then he said I had a bad ground and said they would check it for $30, I paid them and the tech said my ground was good. Then the business owner said the factory will not take the unit back unless I had the original packaging. I contacted the factory, they said send it, and within 2 weeks they sent me a brand new unit and it solved my problem. It is obvious this business does not appreciate it's customers and tries to weasel it's way out of helping it's paying customers. Go somewhere else. read more
