Really????? I chatted with them to get a quote to buy and install a mirror tap for my radar detector. I was asked if I also wanted a mount and I replied that I would later but for now I wanted just the tap and installation. They then came back and said that I had to do both the tap ($29.99) and mount ($149) and the install was $175. Now there is absolutely NO technical why I have to do both together......the mount is a simple bolt it to the mirror (the manufacturer has a guide to tell you which one, and the tap requires you to pop the mirror cover and insert 2 wires (I wanted them to install as I've never popped this cover and didn't have a volt meter to ensure the the that wires were placed properly......not a lot of work and not rocket science). I asked them to verify that they are required to both be done (I was going to use my OEM mount for the time being) and they came back and stated that they checked with both their store manager and GM and both stated it was a requirement (interesting in that there is a lot of information on the web that says that there is no reason to do so). I can only conclude from this interaction that either 1) THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE DOING, or 2) THEY ARE JUST PLAIN GREEDY AND NOT INTERESTED IN DOING WHAT IS BEST FOR THE CUSTOMER......neither is a good why to run a successful business. If this is how they chose to run their business I suggest that you stay away from Cartronics at this location. Too bad as I was hoping I could use them for other work I was planning on my car. read more

I had an horrible experience at the Cartronics in Madison, TN. Sooooo Much Time wasted! PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! On Thursday March 9, 2017 I scheduled a window tinting appointment for 3:30pm Friday March 10, 2017. On Friday March 10, 2017 Morning I received a phone call from cartronics letting me know that the window tinting guy would not be available that Friday afternoon. I then rescheduled my appointment for Monday March 20, 2017 at 9am. (Remember, I am taking off time from work for all of this and cannot get that time and money back!) I get to my appointment on Monday March 20, 2017 at 9am. I am surprised and told that a warranty tint job and another appointment was scheduled at the same time as my appointment. The tint guy would not be able to get to me. This was B.S. I let them know I was highly upset and pissed off! (Be advised that there is only one tint guy for all Nashville cartronics locations. He rotates between the Nashville locations.) I rescheduled for 2pm the same day and was told that they would maybe get to me at 2pm. 2pm comes and I receive a call that the tint guy just finished the warranty job and started on the other vehicle that was scheduled on top of me. This was totally unfair, poor scheduling and so much customer time wasted. I was first with a scheduled appointment, I was paying cash and felt that since I was paying cash, cash customer should have taken precedence over the warrantied customer. BUY YOUR CAR ELECTRONICS ELSEWHERE!!! I used to always shop for my car electronics at Cartronics, but not anymore. I came in on a Friday to buy some 6x9 and 6x5 speakers for my Altima and spent over $550 on the set. The guy at the counter told me that his computer did not mention any brackets or harnesses were needed other than something for the negative and positive terminals. I installed the speakers in the front and DID need some aftermarket brackets. I rolled down my window and heard a loud thud. My window had disconnected the terminals from the harness i installed. I just installed my original speakers and told myself I'm content with them. I tried to return the speakers 4 days later but because the box wasn't "resellable", I could not get my money back, but I could pay them extra money for them to install them. Will NEVER step foot in another cartronics ever again. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THEIR RETURN POLICY (they don't have one). read more

I've been there a few times and purchased from them twice and I won't ever bother going back. There was an issue with a DVD player I had installed in a truck years ago and I finally gave up trying to get them to resolve the issue. I gave them a second chance after about 5 years or so and wish I did not do that. I've never been fond of the characters who work there but it's there business practices that has me writing this. I bought a plug and play amplifier for my Harley and it was defective. Because I did not pay to let them install it, they would not put it on the bench to test it without charging me $25. I bought it there and it was both basically brand new and under warranty and should not have to pay just to tell me what I already knew. But before I paid for shipping back to Rockford Fosgate (my other mistake) I went ahead and paid for the test. But they said it tested good. I know it was not good and then paid to ship it to the manufacture. The manufacturer tested it and sent me a brand new one because it was in fact faulty. Cartronics should back the products they sell and I should not have been charged a test fee to plug it in on a bench for 5 min. And then the test was not even accurate. Do yourself a favor and spend your money at a place who won't try to rip you off and who backs what they sell. read more

I recently had subs, speakers, and a stereo installed and I'm not exactly happy with it. I was told the appointment was on Monday but when I arrived they told me they only had a list of all my items and that they would be able to get it done Wednesday, I was a little worried now because there's been a review along those words. I got the car the next day and I noticed a vibration, which I expected due to the subwoofer. I moved around the subwoofer and all of a sudden the subwoofer was blown, I went to the store and told them and so I bought another since i didn't buy the sub with them, but it was working perfectly fine and I bought it new, I put the new one and plugged it in and it still didn't work, later they told me it was a wiring issue and that it's fine now. So I lost a completely working subwoofer due to their wiring but I had to pay for it since I didn't buy it from them. Not only that but I believe they messed up while wiring on the drivers side speaker because now I can't roll down the passenger side window. The service was great I will give them that, but their work and the way they handled it wasn't right, or at least I think. It's not a place I would recommend. The only reason I didn't want to do it myself was because I didn't want to deal with rattles, fixing wiring issues, or something not being right, but it looks like I'll still have to do that on my own time. As for the pricing, labor costs were almost the same as the equipment I bought, too overpriced for the job they did on it. read more

I came to have windshield tint removed. I was told it would take 2 hrs and would be $200 prior to tax to complete the job. Reluctantly I agreed and was happy to finally have it done. However it o lay took 30 minutes to finish. This was great I thought I would get a discount and only have to pay like $50-$60 because of how much faster it went than originally planned. That was not the case and I still had to pay the $200+ to remove some tint from the windshield. When I got back into my vehicle there was still glue and residue left behind on the windshield. Poor quality work for an outrageous price. I would have been happy to pay the $200 if it legitimately took that long and the job was done well but that was not the case. Yes the job was completed and the tint was removed from the windshield however the price was crazy high and the work was of very poor quality. For this reason I would not recommend Cartronics to anybody nor will I be returning to any locations. read more

I do not know how much cartonics pay these people for there reviews it had to BE good. Because I never been so took in my life for a car stereo. It. only took them four five days to get IT half right. everything his pull a parts so call tech touch cost me more and more. And then still didn't get right. oh did i mention they wanted a extra one hundred and thirty dollars to hook up the rear speakers. oh did also mention they trash my four hundred dollar radio that was factory without asking me. so now my CAR has A HEATER stuck on hot no gas gauge no dash lights no shfit indurcator.also I have to keep the battery on hook becuse there such a drain on it. all for eighteen hundred dollars .thanks a lot cartrions. read more

I came by yesterday on a whim- my car alarm had grown a mind of its own and was going off if someone sneezed near it. I took it to the Honda dealership, which of course gave me the runaround, and was planning on trying to turn it down myself. Luckily, I saw Cartronics and decided to just ask for advice on how to DIY it. I wish I could remember their names, but two guys took a look, and were able to remove my "ghetto installed" shock sensor in 15 minutes. The technician was very accommodating in my numerous requests for both clean installation while also reducing he radio's visible footprint as much as possible (my wife didn't want my car to look like a radio shack!) Power windows installed by Cartronics June of 2016 along with some other electrical work on a travel van. Passenger side motor goes out August of 2017. Out of warranty. Unable to find a compatible motor anywhere so I visit the store. The young man at the counter tried to help. Could not find motors online either and they don't carry just the motors, only another complete kit like the one installed which costs $199. He offered it to me at $138. I found the exact same kit on Ebay for $50. I can't really complain since Cartronics was under no obligation to do anything and the young man at the counter did what he could in a retail setting. Just posting this review so that readers will know what to expect. My experience amounted to products that lasted just slightly over a year and no cost effective support on failure. read more
