Real talk: I stumbled upon this eatery years ago, but never had the opportunity to go 'off the beaten path' on our road trips to stop by - I couldn't wait to check this local eatery with their super cute logo! The hubs and I stopped by here and had a biscuit sandwich, a Hot Roast Beef dinner, and one of their famous hand-pattied burgers (which we actually stayed for an additional hour or so, as they weren't serving the burgers until later!). While the biscuit was forgettable, the hot roast beef was so scrumptious! It was so hearty, savory, and stick-to-your-rib deliciousness, and such a comfort meal on a plate! The burger was ginormous, and you can tell that they hand-form the fresh patties; the patty was super juicy and all the toppings were fresh. Service was so friendly, welcoming, and with a smile! The restaurant itself has such a charm, and I'd love to be able to return again to check out their holiday buffets!

My dad used to love to come here for the buffet after Sunday services at the church and we would stop in here for a burger during summers after he picked me up when he got off work. Their burgers are handmade (meaning they are hand pattied) and used to be very good. During certain times when you stop in there will be buffets offered with things like frog's legs and the like so if you want to get some local country fixings you can try to haunt the board for those things. I tend to stick to what I know and go with simple items and wouldn't order anything other than a sandwich or the burger from here. It's simple food with a simple kitchen and it's very good for what it is. But this is not a fancy place. It's a small diner in a small town run by friendly locals. Temper your expectations, if you find yourself here and hungry, it'll hit the spot.

The coffee is great and you can pay a small amount more for free refills in the cafe. The decor and cozy feeling in the cafe's seating areas are unmatched. The service feels like everyone knows everyone else and it is lovely. My absolute favorite thing was the drinking chocolate: rich, rich chocolate with fresh whipped cream and a tiny little spoon to enjoy it with. We also really enjoyed the morning bun, basque cheesecake, and the steak bowl. The mushroom toast was a miss for me due to some mismatched spices perhaps, but it looked gorgeous. The seasonal beverages like the Cranberry Sparkler and the Peppermint Mocha were very good.

I noticed the next day when we went back for lunch, that there were hardly any pastries left so it that's what you want, go early. We had delicious sandwiches and salads for lunch. Highly recommend a visit.

My wife and I were passing through Lexington and wanted breakfast so we went to Sunrise BBQ. The breakfast was exactly what we wanted, great American breakfast fare at excellent prices. What really stood out was the number of locals having breakfast. Even more than that was the amazing service from a group of servers who clearly care about the restaurant, the service, and the customers. The only bad thing I can say is that Sunrise BBQ is not located in the city where we live but if we are ever passing through Lexington again, Sunrise BBQ will be our go to breakfast place.
