Not the luxurious experience I expected. I arrived at 1pm on a Friday thinking that it wouldn't be busy. There were six people ahead of me and they said a 45 minute wait. I gave them my phone number and they texted me when it was time. I can't imagine the wait during the weekend. After entering the store, I waited another 10 min before an SA greeted me. There was a small area with a couple of seats which were occupied and there limited counter space, so it wasn't exactly a nice wait. I wanted to check out and try on the trinity collection. The SA showed me the pieces that I wanted to see but not exactly friendly. No one seemed particularly friendly... I left without a purchase since I couldn't decide what I wanted. I'm extremely disappointed at my experience with Cartier. I bought a men's wallet well before Christmas as a gift and had it embossed with my husband's initials. It arrived damaged with the initials almost completely rubbed off and sideways. I called customer service to have it replaced and they said they could express ship it and have it arrive by Christmas. I returned it on December 11th and it is now December 28th and it has not even shipped yet. I have asked for compensation many times as this has been an inconvenience for me, but they "never take money off for anyone it's just our policy". Okay, if you are a luxury brand maybe your products shouldn't come damaged or you should be able to quickly replace items for people who spend $700 on a damaged wallet and need it at a certain time. I would expect better service and compensation from a luxury brand. I will not be purchasing anything else from this brand due to this experience. read more

Terrible service and follow-up for existing consumer and supporter of brand. I have been dealing with significantly declining service across multiple Cartier locations, but specifically during my last few visits to the Chicago boutique throughout this year trying to resolve one singular issue. Timelines are just completely unacceptable for the price that a consumer invests in these products (let alone the quality problem that prompted the issue -- a terrible frayed leather strap for my two-tone Santos de Cartier that has only had less than 10 uses since I've purchased it. A quality of leather I have only seen in very cheap leather construction which is not what I would expect from this brand at all). There is no real option to help troubleshoot these issues online or via phone, so I decided to visit my local boutique in Chicago to address it in person (a wildly inefficient process). Timeline below: June 2024: Original visit to shop (store manager let me know she would speak with the watch repair man ASAP during his business hours and he would get back to me) 7.1.24: First comms back from watch repair contact (via phone) -- I replied back to Chris via text re-explaining the issue since it seems the store manager did not relay the issue accurately at all and had to lay it out again. He let me know they "reach out to our corporate team Paris regarding the situation with your straps..." 7.30.24: One month later, no contact was received from Chris or anyone at Cartier -- I sent a follow-up text to Chris asking for an update. 8.30.24: Two months later, no contact still, I sent another follow-up to Chris. No reply. 9.10.24: greater than 2 months later, still no reply, once again another follow-up. I asked him if there is another avenue to help troubleshoot/escalate. No reply. 9.28.24: Decided to go all the way back downtown to the boutique to speak with the store manager again to understand what is happening. At this point almost three months later, I just want a yes or no on resolution. Terrible quality of service continues. Store manager seemed unworried and again said she would confirm with Chris on Monday ASAP and he would give me a call back with updates. 10.6.24: I have yet to hear back from anyone. One would think the way this brand presents itself would have some more consideration to someone that has purchased their products in the past and is having a frustrating situation from both a product quality and a customer service perspective, but that absolutely is not the case here and it is completely disappointing and quite unacceptable. So I'm relegated to posting this review here both to warn potential buyers and visitors to this boutique and to generally raise awareness of the poor cost-to-quality ratio for brand Cartier is a whole. I might as well have shopped for a watch at JC Penney. read more

Her customer service is, without question, the absolute best I have ever received--not just at a luxury retailer, but at any store, period. Erin is the perfect combination of warm, professional, and incredibly helpful. What sets her apart is her honesty and genuine care for her clients. My wife recently tried on both the large and small Cartier diamond Love bracelets. While many salespeople would push for the more expensive option, Erin actually recommended the smaller one--because in her honest opinion, it looked better on my wife's wrist. That kind of sincerity is nearly impossible to find these days. She doesn't upsell, she listens. She doesn't pressure, she advises. And she makes the entire experience feel personal, comfortable, and even fun. Here's a little story... Way back in the late 80s, I was gifted a Must de Cartier Vendome watch upon my graduation from college. The Must de Cartier watch line was essentially a collection which allowed more accessibility to the brand. Translation: They were much cheaper than Cartier's flagship classics e.g., the Tank, the Santos, the Panther. So here I was, 34 years ago, newly moved to Chicago for grad school, when my watch needed a new strap and battery. So I hopped on the campus shuttle, which dropped me off downtown, and I made my way to Cartier (which I believe is still in the same location on the Mag Mile today). I walk in, and I was clearly a student (read: probably had no money). I pull out my "cheapy" Cartier quartz watch and inquire about a new strap and battery. The lovely sales person immediately helped me, remarked how my watch was one of her favorite designs, and happily took care of my request. I remember that I felt so good to be treated so kindly when all I needed was a repair. Fast forward from 1988 to 2022, and a dear friend and I decide to pop in on a Saturday and treat ourselves to a few baubles (note we did not make an appointment). The store was actually pretty busy, and we were asked to put our name in and an available sales professional would assist us. Barely 10 minutes later we were greeted warmly. Now, I'm a pretty straight forward shopper, and I was there to purchase a classic Trinity ring, and that was it. However my friend was considering several options and designs, and required a bit more support. Our sales person deftly helped her out, providing helpful information, and all the while engaging us in warm and friendly banter. So to tie this all together: No matter what type of customer you have, always treat them like they're the best you've ever had. And in my experience, this seems to be the case at Cartier and the absolutely exceptional sales professional who took care of us. read more

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. Here is my experience- I went in purchased a love medium bracelet. Then when I received the bracelet in the mail - there was no authentication- no screw driver - it wasn't wrapped - like is this a joke? I literally got the bracelet in a bag and the receipt LOL.we pay for experience. This is definitely not what I paid for. The boutique is trying to make it up to me saying oh well overnight the screw driver and authentication to you. How will you make up for the bracelet not being in a box and wrapped w/ authentication? Aiden was extremely helpful from the moment I called to request an appointment and kept in contact for weeks until our planned date to ensure we had the absolute best experience. Upon arrival, my husband and I were greeted by the team, offered a beverage, and were welcomed to browse as we had arrived a bit earlier than expected. I would not recommend the Oak Street location in Chicago. The service has ben declining over the years. I tried calling at least 15 times from Dec 26th - Jan 4th, couldn't get anyone on the phone and not even able to leave a voicemail. When I arrived they were able to assist me within 5-10 mins. Great! I asked "Why is it impossible to get someone on the phone? And not able to leave a voicemail?" The gentleman answered, "We're really busy this time of year." Interesting... I am so disappointed. I just received my love bracelet as a gift to myself and it won't stay locked. I almost lost it in the grocery store . The screw just fell out and I had my daughter tighten it for me... I believe it arrived stripped. A $5,000 bracelet I cannot return because I had it engraved 40th. I sure hope Michigan Ave can help because otherwise it's no longer a birthday present to me (10/13) it will take 3 weeks to come back. I hope this can be fixed so I can style and profile. Just came back from a quick visit from Chicago and decided to stop into the Chicago Cartier storefront. It was an awful experience. I have shopped at Cartier for over 30 years. Staff was dismissive and rude. Don't these people understand their role? One pudgy staff member told me to look on Ebay for a discontinued item. She was flippant as were the other salespeople ...if you can call them that. I wore my timeless Tank watch in and was considering another Cartier watch. I called to check on their hours and the availability of a specific fragrance, and from the moment I walked in, Danijela Dedic acknowledged the call and made me feel like I was a special customer. She gave sterling service and exuded a wonderful personality. My little fragrance purchase might've been her smallest of the day, but she treated me with the same respect she'd give a celebrity. The customer service at Oak Street store in Chicago is beyond abysmal. In particular, Sonia has failed to follow-up on numerous occasions for a simple request to purchase a watchband. I have been charged for an incorrect watchband and not received a credit one month after the charge appeared on my credit card. She fails to follow up to emails or phone calls. I am awaiting information on two watchbands, have texted for a follow-up timeline as well as receiving the overdue credit for the incorrect watchband and she hasn't followed up. This has been the most unpleasant and unprofessional service I have ever recevied in any retail experience. Had I not purchased this watch as a gift for a relative (which I relayed to Sonia), I would drop the whole matter. It's not worth dealing with this store. read more

This location has horrible service. Two experiences now. First one I had to wait over a YEAR for my watch to be repaired. Multiple delays, horrible communication, and all after initially quoting that it would take up to 10 weeks. They ended up doing the whole thing for free thankfully. Remember that they don't care you once you buy something from them. I was humiliated by one of their hosts the other day in front of people when I just asked his coworker's phone number. He said to me step out, can't help you. I never had experienced that someone treated me harassed like that. Like I said, even I talked to one of their managers after, they said they will help you but they don't really. Because it is taking me forever to get just jewelry valuation paper on my engagement ring. Because they do not give you detailed paper on your jewelry like others. I received zero help at Bulgari and because of this, I went straight to Cartier and will continue to do so. I am on the younger end of their clientele base but didn't feel profiled at all. A+ experience! 1 star off because they didn't have ANY money clips on display even though they had several in stock. They all seemed to be surprised as well. If you want to feel unwelcome and experience rude customer service, this is the place to go too. I walked in with a couple of my friends and not one person greeted us, not even a smile. I went in to get my bracelet resized, the woman that helped me was the coldest person I have ever met. She kept staring at all of us giving dirty looks and rolling her eyes. She proceeded to tell me that it's a $250 charge to get the bracelet sized. When I asked her to size it and I'll call customer service she got annoyed and stated that customer service would say the same thing. I told her that was fine but I would rather go thru them.
