I can't even start my horror story . They made a horrible situation into a nightmare. Our moving truck caught fire, towed to Carter towing. They held it hostage waiting for the moving company to pay tow cost . That was back and forth, they would not allow us to get on the truck and get any momentum off . They wouldn't cover the front of truck to prevent weather damage. Customer service was gangster mentality. Fast forward where told we could get on 9 months later , things were missing and just decay from the elements. Lost everything, our 42 years of my children's childhood . All my families heirlooms . Precious pictures of everything of our lives . It's a criminal what people are allowed to get away with. read more

Our car was broken down on the side of the road for over five hours waiting on AAA, despite us calling hourly and being told driver was less than 30 ministration away. Tired of waiting on AAA, My husband called Carters and they were out within 45 minutes. Driver was professionally, responsive, friendly, and respectful of our property. Carters pricing was reasonable. It was over a holiday weekend. We highly recommend Carters and are grateful for their assistance. We were able to enjoy our weekend after Carters got us off the interstate and had us and our car safely at the dealership service center. The worst business EVER. Ford road side assistance had them pickup my new Ford F150. $80,000 truck. Instead of towing to dealership they held at there yard for ford to open. They were suppose to deliver as soon as the dealership opened. Now they are holding my truck cause they want storage fees from ford. Actually holding my truck hostage. This tow business is beyond horrible. Out moving van caught fire in Ocala & the van was towed to Carter Tow yard. We spent 11 months trying to access the burned van to see if any of our property could be salvaged. We were denied access ! The moving company did not pay the tow fee and we were held hostage. It has been a terrible. experience. The burned truck still sits in the yard with our furniture & household goods, rotting away, being destroyed by the weather. read more

I would give this company zero stars if I could! I was in an accident recently and the Highway Patrol called Carter's to tow my vehicle. I was given no choice in the matter. I would have never chosen to have my vehicle towed to their business. The tow driver was nice enough and let me get some personal belongings out before he left, however i forgot a few very important items. I went to the tow yard and asked if I could retrieve my items and I was told no because I drive a fleet vehicle and my name was not on the registration. I had my fleet company contact them and send verification that I have access to the vehicle and they still said no. The worst part of this is the absolutely horrible customer service. There was no empathy and no solutions-oriented thinking. It was all about power and control. The office person is perhaps the rudest person I have ever dealt with. DO NOT use this company to have your car towed! They are AWFUL! Sad part is, once your car is there, they can do whatever they want. I will be surprised if my personal property is still in my car when I finally get it! read more

Worst customer service I've ever dealt with and they will not own up to their mistake that we are now stuck paying out of pocket for! My fiancé got into a car accident on Sunday May 13th while in Ocala picking up a friend. Carters was the company called to pick up our vehicle. The Marion County police officer wouldn't allow my fiancé to get our personal belongings out of the vehicle for some reason so he had to pay $75 to get in the tow yard since it was after hours. It being my fiancé's first ever car accident he didn't realize he should've grabbed all of our personal belongings and not just our children's car seats and diaper bag. We live in Orlando and are without a vehicle until insurance assume liability and we can get into a rental so coming back to our things isn't an easy task. I called Carters on Tuesday, May 15th, to inquire about getting our personal belongings. The lady told me that I should get our stuff before releasing it because there is no guarantee that once it is released we would be able to get into our truck especially if it gets totaled and goes to a salvage yard. So I told her to NOT release the vehicle and I would speak to my fiancé and figure out how to get to Carters, we would release once we did that. Fast forward to Thursday, May 17, my fiancé gets a ride after work from his brother from Orlando to Ocala.. he called twice on his way there to confirm they would be open and then again to make sure that our vehicle was there. He got there and was informed that our vehicle was released to insurance and had been picked up the previous day (May 16). They gave us the info for the tow company that picked it and after some calling around we finally located our truck. It is now all the way in Sanford! Our insurance will only cover one tow and that was just utilized to move our vehicle to a storage facility that we DID NOT AUTHORIZE. I made calls on Tuesday and Wednesday to set up for our truck to be picked up by the collision center instead of insurance to go to storage to cut out the need for a second tow. My fiancé was more understanding and calm than I would've been in the situation, the girl working Thursday night had only been working at Carters for 4 days so she is still learning and really what can she do about it? So he called Carters this morning (5/18) to speak to a manger and we got the lovely manager Amber. She proceeded to tell my husband that because he was freaking out the night before & had to be physically removed from the building, which is a LIE, she can't help him. She didn't really care that our vehicle had been moved without our authorization and was not the least bit empathetic to the situation. I decided to give calling a shot to figure out how this occurred and who was going to pick up the bill that is now on us to have our truck towed from where it currently sits to the collision center we want it to go to. As I was attempting to explain the situation and ask how this happened I was repeatedly cut off and spoken over. So yes, I got upset and my voice was raised since she obviously was not hearing nor understanding what I was attempting to ask. Amber became EXTREMELY rude and insisted that I released the vehicle because how else would they get my insurance information as none of them have ESP? Well I gave them my insurance info but that does NOT give the go ahead to release our vehicle to anybody. Amber asked what I wanted besides just calling to bitch at her? I told her I want Carters to pick up the bill for our second tow and I will need compensation for all of our personal belongings in the vehicle if it gets totaled and brought to a salvage yard before we can make it to where it currently sits to get our items out. I hung up shaking I am so angry... I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Carters you should expect to receive a bill from me soon and if you don't pay for YOUR mistake the next time you see us it will be in court. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE RELEASE OF MY VEHICLE AND YOU DID IT ANYWAYS JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE INSURANCE INFORMATION AND MY CELL PHONE NUMBER IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE AUTHORITY TO RELEASE SOMEONES PROPERTY!!!!
