It is 85% the young employee. As a customer it seems they resent having to answer a customer's question, or request for help. Comes across as they are not there to help or even consider you, rather that they are special "cool" because they work there. Particularly the produce section, where their job to check or replace items is far more important than any measly customer. Their big cart is parked for their convenience, no matter a customer can't get to needed vegetables. Also in dairy I asked a worker what was the price on yougart since shelf price label was missing. Reply? " I don't eat yougart so I don't know". Also one has to wonder if the choice of music is for customers or employees. Other notes: employees chatting on personal calls constantly or worse 3+ more gathered in an aisle talking about morning meeting/ mgr. There's more, but said observations have caused me to spend last time / $ there & go to a.store with better trained, courteous employees & mgr that does their job. I work hard for my dollar & will spend it where it is appreciated even if it sometimes means a bit less section. Its action that hits WF in the wallet until they make needed changes.

We had fun going down the aisles and checking out the odds and ends. My husband bought a bottle of whiskey, and he can't wait until our next visit to drop in again. I think it is because they remind me of childhood vacations to Grand Isle where we visited the Safeway before settling in at the camp. That grocery store, like this Piggly Wiggly wasn't fancy, but it made you feel welcome. On this trip I just needed a few items that would have been available at any drug, convenience, or large grocery store. I stopped here because it was on the way home, plus I figured I would enjoy the store and I most certainly did. There are only 4-6 aisles in this store and each is packed with items to maximize space. There is a small produce area, deli and larger liquor area. Apparently Madisonville likes their booze. The produce was fresh and fairly priced, but don't expect the selection you'd find at a larger store. I bought bananas and pears, both of which were devoured by my children soon after bringing them home. I didn't buy any of their meat this trip, but they had a good variety of freshly packaged meat available. They even had frog legs and stuffed chickens available. Speaking of kids, if yours are the rambunctious type, they may bump into things as they twirl to the imaginary music in their heads. I lucked out that mine saved that behavior for the parking lot, but the aisles are somewhat narrow so use caution. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this old style neighborhood grocery. I doubt it will become my regular store, but I will be sure to stop in whenever I'm passing through and need a few items.

So I went in there at 7:25am this morning and I bought 6 buscuits for my kids and neice and nephew who stayed the night, she said as I was checking out "I'm sorry sir, only 2 Per customer" I said "you have like 20 (I guess because she doesn't want to make more) I said are you serious? And she said "yeah that way everyone can have some!" I said "well who is everybody, why are they more important than my 6 babies at home or my 4 babies on their way to school every morning, my daughter told me you throw your hands up every morning and mumble "little bitch". The manager looks at me and said "I was just joking but now put them all back in there, you can't have any." I said "no, 6 kids can't have them. they were not for me". So you just lost me and my family's service after 30 years. 6 real men, would sacrifice or go without so that 6 children can eat a good breakfast and if that's the problem, why not make 6 more? She runs people off all the time over the food, and I hear about it and continued to go.
