Great knowledge with awesome service. And his dogs are fun too. Old school shop with old school service.

I'm a member - I have been for a few years…read more The emphasis on safety and education at this club is impressive. The club maintains a schedule of events for just about any focus in shooting sports you may be interested in (just check the calendar at http://www.aurorasc.org/). The facilities are still pretty basic but the club has a budget and a project plan to continue development (to cover the firing lines on the ranges, for example). There aren't many (any?) ranges in the Chicagoland area where you can shoot beyond 100 yards, so this club is definitely the place for safe, long range shooting. The membership fees, even the assessments are easily justified if you add up the visits and one-time costs to use other local ranges - oh, and no waiting to shoot like some local indoor ranges (weekends). I'd give the club 5 stars if the leadership could find a more sensible way to maintain the condition of some of the ranges. They do schedule "work parties" where members can come out and get some volunteer hours (volunteering time is a requirement of membership, 5-10 hours per year). Unfortunately, I'd prefer spending what little time I have there pulling triggers and NOT swinging hammers! Otherwise, good facilities, GREAT people, and if you like to pull triggers, come out to a public event (check the calendar) and learn about membership opportunities!

Hopefully this review helps! It's an outdoor shooting range with various options for distance. Shooting outdoors beats inside by far. You get to enjoy the guns in a far better environment. Every one of the staff members were friendly and extremely focused on safety. It felt like a favorite spot for locals and where everyone knew each other. It only costs $10! Bring you guns and get shooting!

Could be for deer season, or rebuilding the range, all needed, but there is no way to find out until you pull in the driveway. Once they had a sign up saying they were going to open an hour late. There were over twenty people waiting, and we were some of the last to leave, two an a half hours later. They have no website or working telephone. They explained that the phone is for calling out in an emergency. There isn't any way to contact them. The last time I was there, the gates open at11:30 and shooting starts at 12:00 and goes to 4:00 PM. Between 11:30 and 12:00, the range master explains the safety rules. The charge was $10.00 for the day and teens under eighteen were free with a FOID card holder supervision. The only drawback was the lack of communication!

Mega Sports has got to have the most unfriendly, bad-attitude driven employees I've ever encounters. Want to rent a pistol that you may want to purchase? Expect an attitude. Want to look at a $1200 Kimber to possibly purchase? Expect an attitude. Have any questions about anything? Yep! Expect an attitude. And their shooting range? Wear a gas mask. I doubt those filters (if any) have been cleaned in the past 10 years. Take the time to drive to any other range and you'll be glad you did. It's a shame, too, as they have one of the largest gun inventories around. I'm guessing this range is corporate owned, because anyone I know that would own a business where the customer comes last, wouldn't allow it for a moment. Everyone would be fired, and new hires would be trained to realize that the only reason they have a job there... IS FOR THE CUSTOMERS!

I'm telling you, these guys will bust your balls over everything that you say or do. I don't understand why you'd have a job at a gun store if you seem to absolutely hate other people that buy guns. Not helpful at all when it comes to questions or concerns. especially when you spending upwards of $1,000 on a shotgun. If I felt like this was just a one off sorta deal I definitely wouldn't be leaving a review. Shit I never leave reviews on anything. I just would hate for a first time gun purchaser to be turned off from the whole thing because of these overcompensating assholes. Please people save yourself the time and money and just go someone else. It is not worth it!
