We got there about 10 minutes before they opened. And the line went around the block. Which is about what I expected after seeing the number of comments on their social media ads for it. We waited, for over an hour. They came out after an hour and informed everyone that they had no boys stuff left, but still had girls, and were working on refilling the bins. When we got to the front, after over an hour in line, we were informed they were sold out of everything, except for 3 or 4 pieces of size 6/8 , but we were welcome to shop the normal priced items inside. As I was leaving I heard numerous people talking about leaving negative reviews. I let the staff outside ,who'd let us know they were sold out, know that they might want to issue an apology to prevent a flood of negative reviews that I'd heard being mentioned. Another woman stepped up and said she was the mother of the girl I was speaking to, and if I had something negative to say, I could say it to her. I repeated what I said, and made sure to say I was not trying to be rude, and I apologize if I was coming off that way. That no one was upset they ran out, just at the lack of updates, and that they might consider apologizing before they get negative reviews. She snappily told me that if I needed to understand that the owner has an injured arm and a husband with cancer, and that I needed to understand that before writing a review. I'm not sure how that is related to the issues everyone experienced, rather than just trying to guilt me out of a review. Again, I'm not upset that they were busy or ran out. It was the lack of updates for the people who spent a large amount of time waiting only to be turned away with no warning or apology. And I have heard from other people that they were also snapped at by the owner and staff when voicing their frustrations. An apology of some sort would have made all the difference. I hope they learn from this, not only on how to run a sale, but how to treat their customers.

Then at the register, another employee just seems like she was inconvenienced to be there too. The person working upstairs, same thing. Frowns and eye rolling. It's much more convenient and allows me to do a price comparison. Usually I will purchase two different sizes, then keep the size that fits best. It's also nice to have your items shipped to the local store, that way you don't have to stress with "Porch Pirates" stealing you deliveries! The Nordstrom Notes are always nice little surprises to add to the shopping experience. The team at the Oxnard is always willing to help with a pickup or return. I've been a happy Nordstrom Rack shopper for decades.

I had to leave and didn't get to shop at all. I get it's probably her break time so I do think it's the store's responsibility to hire enough people to accommodate customers. Also, when they put up a sign that they will be back in 30 minutes, most customers won't know if that was put up five minutes ago or 28 minutes ago. It's not helpful at all.

REVIEW: To be honest, I frequent Goodwill stores for their books as I proudly am a book hoarder. :) They have one of the larger selections of books I have seen, and I may have even reshelved and organized their books on more than one occasion. The employees have been polite and friendly each time I have been here, and the entire atmosphere of this Goodwill is leaps and bounds better than others in the county. They have a huge selection of clothes too, and they are spread out and organized well. I probably visit this location a few times a month and their inventory is rotated or updated too, which I appreciate. What with the state of the economy as it presently is, why not support local. Would very much recommend giving this Goodwill a good look through to see if you can find some hidden gems. :)

I don't know if someone new is running the place but all the employees are busy cleaning around and bringing fresh inventory to the floor. It's always exciting to see all the treasures you can find.
