I drove my trade-in all the way from California because I needed a reliable truck to get back for work and a massive 4th of July family reunion.I finalized the paperwork on a truck advertised with 57 high-resolution photos and a 360-degree video showing a completely clean, pristine vehicle with zero dashboard warning sensors going off. Once the paperwork was completed, ownership legally transferred to me. Instead of safeguarding my property, salesman Joel Flanagan took my truck off dealership property overnight without my authorization. He explicitly admitted to both myself and my brother (who witnessed it) that he had my truck in his personal possession that morning. Furthermore, over the phone, Joel literally bragged to me that he "broke her in" on the day the sale was finalized.Because of this unauthorized joyride, my truck had nearly 40 extra miles on the odometer, was covered in dirt, and sustained physical damage. Within just 5 minutes of driving off the lot, the dashboard warning sensors went flashing off for the parking lights. I reached out immediately to Joel; he answered a single question and then completely ghosted me.Under Texas bailment law, a dealership is fully liable for a customer's property while it is in their exclusive custody. Management initially recognized this massive liability and verbally offered me $2,600 over the phone to resolve the damage. However, manager Colby Terry tried to backtrack in writing, insulting me with a measly $500 "concession" check while hiding behind "As-Is" paperwork--as if a pre-owned waiver covers physical damage caused by their own employee AFTER the sale.I have rejected their $500 insult and demanded they give me a reasonable offer to fix this. I am moving forward with formal complaints to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Enforcement Division and the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Buyer's BEWARE of these Scam Artists! With only a week into this purchase, l finally drove it to work, and for lack of better words, it was a sickening experience. What should've been a great ride from my newly upgraded truck, turned into a horror story. They sold me a truck that is unsafe to drive especially with a trailer. The swaying, wobbling and bouncing is too much to bare. Which has aready led to three near mis accidents. So now, I'm forced to start making these expensive suspension/ alignment repairs. When I took the truck in to my personal mechanic, he discovered other horrendous mechanical and maintaince issues as well as other blatant deceptive cover ups found on the truck. And the list keeps growing. Maybe that's why they stress selling you their Vehicle Warranties. KNOWING THEY'VE DONE ZERO INSPECTIONS OR MAINTENANCE BEFORE SELLING VEHICLES. they just recently sold my daughter, a car and in less than a month the car has almost killed her several times when she picked it up the check engine light was on for a fuel rail sensor. She replaced the fuel rail her and her husband drive business doesn't even want to help fix the car. They said they sold it as is, but they had issues with their headlights. The antenna is broken the fuel pressure. The fuel pressure sensor was antenna on the top of the car is broken. This place is a hot mess. Do not buy your car from here. Be VERY careful with this company. They are knowingly trying to sell a 1992 Mustang with 214,000 as a 14,000 mile car. I originally called and asked if the 14,000 was accurate and they said it was. I got a carfax and several years ago it had 160,000+ miles. When I brought it up to them they said "it shows 14,000 on the odometer so that's what we listed it as." They were just clearing the code for the particular filter The next day on my ride home from Texas to Buffalo, the check engine came on. I messaged the salesman. He said good thing you got the warranty, which was absolutely useless. The warranty covers nothing I asked them to reimburse me for the warranty. They said they did, but they never did. then they use a third-party transfer plates, which got my plate suspended in New York. They do not know how to paint all the paint is peeling off all the bumpers. They are very shady company. I suggest you bring your own Mechanic and your own code reader all they do is a shitty paint job clear codes put rims and tires on. DO NOT Purchase from carsandpickups.com. We give them a 0 star rating. Their showroom may be nice and flashy but their business ethics and practices are the worst we have ever experienced buying a vehicle in our lifetime. We are a retired military family and work 80-100 hours a week for our business. We bought a work truck through them March 21, 2025 as our main business vehicle. We also bought the $5K, 3 year unlimited mile warranty with it to make sure it was covered. My husband sent me to pick it up. I test drove it and asked why it had a bad exhaust smell. They said it had been sitting and failed to mention it was a deleted diesel truck which was listed no where in the sales write up. Fifteen days after we owned it the engine went down with a cracked head and it needed a new engine. The Ford dealer repairing it said the warranty company I gave them the phone # to had no record of it having an extended warranty. We went back and forth with carsandpickups trying to figure it out. They never return calls like they say they will and you have to call numerous times a day to keep following up. Turns out they dropped the ball and NEVER filed the warranty paperwork after we paid for it. April 11th, 21 days after purchasing it, they finally filed it with the warranty company while our truck sat waiting for repair dealing with them to figure this out. Once it was processed the dealer where we live called us and said the warranty company is denying it because the truck was turned into the dealership April 7th for repair and the warranty was purchased April 11th (because they filed it 3 weeks after we really purchased it). So we call carsandpickups back and they said they would work on it with their warranty rep. We have to keep calling and texting. Today is April 28th and our truck has been down for 21 days now waiting for repair still with no resolution while we pay for a commercial rental truck. I am disgusted at how they take advantage of people. We know the risk of buying a used vehicle and that is why we have always bought the full extended warranty. Never once have we ever had any issue with an extended warranty or repair with it at a dealer. Now the story has changed and carsandpickups are telling us it's not denied not because of the date like our repair dealer was told but because the price was too high for the repair. We said tell us where they want it repaired and get it towed there, it needs to get done. Their VP said he would follow up with their rep again and we never heard back. Their business development manager now says the VP told us what we need to do and he isn't calling back. There is nothing they can do. There is zero accountability for anyone who works there and it's a 3 ring circus with who is in charge or responsible for anything. The warranty company 100% confirms it is not denied due to price, it is due to their error of buying the warranty weeks after we paid for it. No response from the owner Scott at all. People make mistakes, we are all human but when you identify the mistake then hide from it and blame it on false things and provide zero help for a mess you created, that's just wrong. The only way they can be held accountable is by law as well as consumer protection for fraud. read more

The vehicle we purchased was represented as having been completely inspected including a 50-mile test drive and any problems taken care of. We discovered several issues during a short test drive. It was promised that they would resolve after a longer drive or that the dealer would help resolve them. None were resolved. Several other issues became evident within the long drive home and the next day. The rep promised he would look into them. After a few weeks and multiple e-mail exchanges they just stopped responding. None of the issues were fixed by the dealer, some required expensive repairs. Also, it took over 6 weeks to get the title, but we did finally get it. I relied upon the good dealer rating we saw on Autotrader, but that certainly was not our experience. If you want to see ratings that more represent our experience, go to Better Business Bureau. I recommend staying away from this dealer. read more

I was given a decent amount on trade in value and ended up going with a GMC Denali HD. Have nothing to do with them. Purchased a truck from carsandpickups.com recently. After inspecting the truck, found air cleaner was damaged, and let contamination into engine, tire pressure monitoring system was not functioning properly and will have to be programmed/repaired, rear shock needed replacement, transmission oil pan missing bolt, now has developed trouble code for EVAP system, dust shield under radiator broken, missing tire jack and tools. I have been a certified ASE technician with over 25 years experience and my own business repairing cars, trucks, equipment, and have never seen a vehicle in this condition. Spent 41k on purchase. I will be referring this to the office of Attorney General/consumer protection of Texas, as well as the one in my state. I do not recommend purchasing a vehicle from this business. read more

I am very happy with my truck. However, for a no haggle price I expected certain things to be done. I drove the truck off the lot and the service air filter light came on. I changed the air filter and it was black. Before driving off I pointed out a leak in the radiator hose and the dealership would not do anything about it. Go to wash the windshield and learn the wipers are falling apart. All minor things, all fixed for about $150 and an hour of my time, but things I would expect to already be done when a company says they inspected the vehicle and said it was good to go. Although I was disappointed in the minor things, the overall experience was nice. Absolutely no pressure. I was handed the keys to the vehicle and said let us know when you are done. The process was quick and me and my family were on our way. Nice guys at the dealership, just when I say I am flying out for a specific truck, it would be nice if the little things were done. read more

Started off great! A few days in the 2015 F350 SRW 86,000 miles had an oil leak in the driveway. Crank filter and pump was leaking and after a total inspection discovered rear brakes at 10% and rear diff was 90% mud. $2,000 there and next comes the alignment issue.. took it to 4WP and had to replace ball joints and bushings in the front end.. $1500 bucks.. I was told the extended warranty by the 3rd party was a smart move but they denied all the claims. BUYER BEWARE! Wishing I didn't have to leave this review but I feel obligated to for anyone else out there in the market. I bought what I thought was going to be a great truck but has only turned out to be a nightmare. I purchased my 2017 Ram 2500 on April 29, 2021. As I write this today, May 20, 2021 I have already paid $2,400 for new tires (when I purchased the truck it had very warn 37x13.50x22's on it so naturally I replaced the old ones with the same size tire, something I already knew I was going to have to do but I justified it in my mind since I paid $59,995 for the truck and it booked out at about $62,100 so I told myself that the $2k I'm saving on the truck will go to the tires so I'm basically "breaking even"). Last night on my drive home I suddenly heard this very loud howling sound (so loud at first I thought a motorcycle was passing me). I quickly accessed the instrument cluster from the dash to check all my gauges and find that my transmission temperature was at 257*! Panic hits me that my truck is about to explode, or at least leave me and my young kids stranded on the side of the road. Luckily I am only a few miles from home and the truck safely gets us there. I took my truck into the diesel mechanic first thing this morning and after paying them $273 I find out that the transmission on my three-weeks-new-to-me truck is baked and going to have to be replaced immediately. A stock 68RFE is about $4,000. This truck has some performance mods and runs more HP than the stock transmission can actually handle (hence the current transmission problem) so the diesel shop suggested a stage 2 transmission to ensure I have one that can actually handle the performance of this truck and also so that history doesn't repeat itself leaving me with the same problem down the road. The cost to purchase a Randy's stage 2 68RFE is $9,695. The labor cost is another $690. Did I mention the brakes are bad too? The quote I got for that was $600 but for obvious reasons I have not gone through with that repair yet. I called my sales rep today and explained the situation and that I only bought this truck 21 days ago and surely they must feel some sort of obligation to help me out with a repair bill of over $10,000 just 3 weeks after purchasing (I mean c'mon, I haven't even received my plates from the DMV yet!) but of course the answer was simply that they offered to sell me an extended warranty and I declined. That is correct, I did decline the extended warranty. I don't remember how much extra it cost (I want to say around $3k) but knowing that the truck was modified I really didn't think an extended warranty would cover much, if anything, and buying a diesel with only 85,000 miles on it I figured the darn thing was barely broken in so an extended warranty just seemed unnecessary but clearly I was wrong and that's on me for not just spending the extra money (acknowledging that they were selling a warranty and not a guarantee so nothing is certain). I also tried calling the GM but never heard back from him, I guess it was crazy of me to think he would care about my situation To sum up: I don't think these guys intentionally tried to screw me or that this was malicious in any way. The sales rep made it a point to tell me that this dealership "doesn't have a service department and that's how they keep their prices low" which I should have heard as a red flag warning that they really have no idea about the mechanical condition of the cars they sell and there could possibly be unknown problems and I should get the truck looked at by a mechanic To anyone buying a truck here I'd STRONGLY encourage you to either 1) take the vehicle on a VERY long test drive at freeway speeds as well as to a mechanic to have It thoroughly inspected or 2) buy elsewhere. I purchased a GMC 2500HD truck with 30k miles on it for my son in June. The picture showed 2 keys and no key fobs. Before purchasing the truck, I negotiated two programmed key fobs to be included with the truck. The salesman agreed (have text screen shots to prove). After two months of trying to get the key fobs, they sent two from Amazon. I took to my local GMC dealership and they can't be programmed. I've called and requested return calls from the manager and have never received a call back. In addition, one tire needed to be aired up within days of purchasing the vehicle. After the 3rd time of airing up the tire, we took to Discount Tire. They let me know there was a temporary plug (only meant to get from point a to point b) put in the tire. The tire was not fixable so had to replace this tire. I've purchased many vehicles from many dealerships and certainly won't be doing business with this shady dealership again. read more

This is your typical run of the mill scum used car lot. They Offered me a really good trade number on my truck (Chase). They gave me the run around for 2 weeks until they passed me off to another sales guy (RICK). Rick ran the numbers on my trade (ie looked up what I owed ad then offered me 500 less then payoff for the trade. At this point even though they had committed breach of contract I accepted the new terms. Then Rick started pressuring me to give them a deposit on the car. I told him I would not do that until I saw the purchase order and agreement which he never sent. Which I eventually only gave him a card number because he said he would not run it unless the guy that was interested in it, came back into the dealer. Late that evening Rick ran my card for the $500 deposit. The next morning because of personal reasons (job offer) I was told I need to have a truck. I reached out to Rick to tell him I could do the trade for said reasons and he said ok well good luck to ya. I asked him about my deposit and he said it was non-refundable. This was the first time he had ever mentioned it was non refundable. All of my calls are recorded. I will be handing off to a lawyer and also am consider pursuing the original breach of contract. Simply a waste of time and money.......spoke with Charles at 9:53 am asking about a vehicle and if it was available after confirming that it was i let Charles know that I would be there in an 1.5 to 2.0 hours and that I was coming from Rhome, TX...was told that wasn't a problem and then was asked for my contact info...at 11:52am i missed a call from Charles wanting to confirm the time that I was going to arrive because someone else was interested in the same vehicle and wanted to look at it at 1pm....I arrived at the lot at 11:59am to find someone else driving away the vehicle I had spoken to Charles about to then be left standing in the front lobby for 10 minutes after the customer came back to buy the vehicle I was there to purchase...I then got the pleasure of overhearing the salesman discuss with that customer how someone else was going to look at it but it had been 2 hours and they hadn't shown up (even though i was standing in the lobby) Nobody bothered to come back to let me know that the vehicle was sold out from under me...i was just left up front to figure it out myself to then show myself out....what a sorry excuse for customer service read more

I'm not sure how anyone gave this place a bad review. These guys are the most honest car salesmen I've ever met. I drove in from out of town and was greeted (before they even opened) by Christian. He was fantastic! I then took the car for a test drive and fell in love. When I got back he asked if I wanted to trade my car in. I didn't even honestly know that was an option, but I said yes and he offered me more than I expected. When I got on the phone to hash everything out with my bank, Christian offered to speak with her and handled everything for me. The general manager, Matt, explained a few things that I was confused about. He was extremely kind and patient and went line by line until I understood and was comfortable with everything. I was essentially on my way after that. They make it so easy for you to get an incredible car. And they're genuine and honest. You can't get much better than that! read more

On 3-17 I contacted Charles the salesman about a truck I was interested in. He informed me it was available and the price was firm. On 3-18 I made my decision and talked to Matt the finance manager. He ran my credit and got the loan approved. I had seen there was a safety recall on the truck for a alternator that could catch on fire. I asked if they could check to see if it could be fixed prior to me buying the $60k truck and driving it 400 miles home. I was given all kinds of excuses why they couldn't do it. I understand not being able to have every recall fixed, but if it is a severe safety recall I think it would be good practice to try and have them done. What if it caught fire on the test drive? Ultimately on 3-23 I was told by Charles that the dealer would have to have the truck for a week, so I would have to pay for the truck in full, sight unseen, or take my chances and drive it home and have it fixed. This was confirmed by Matt that that was the way it was. On 3-24 Matt and I spoke again and I was told that he would check with one of the dealers in the area on Monday 3-27 to see what options there were. We even discussed putting a deposit down to hold it, which I agreed to if I was going to be fixed. I think this was as fair a request on their part as my request was to them. I asked if they had many dealers close to them and he said, there were probably 12 within a stones throw away. One of the main reasons I picked this truck was that being a disabled veteran and having a service dog, I needed more room for him. Charles even took pictures of the back seat folded and sent them to me so I would know for sure. On Monday morning I called a dealer close to me and was told that they had the part and it took less than a hour to fix. I asked him if it was ok to drive the 400 miles home and he replied that he wouldn't, but at least if it did catch fire Dodge would pay for it. Not very reassuring. I'm in a small town and they are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and were told a week. Makes me wonder if they have a problem with the local dealers for some reason. I waited all morning for Matt to call, but no call. So at 12:06 I called and was told the truck was sold Saturday and that Matt was busy with a customer, but they would have him call me back. At 1:19 I called again and received the same response this time from Christian. At 2:33 the same response, and finally at 4:20 I made my final call with the same answer. I called at 9:21 this morning 3-28 and Christian said he was not in yet but be would give him the message. I was told by Matt more than once in our conversations to trust him he has been doing this for 10 years and knew what he was doing. I was told that people buy trucks from us sight unseen all the time, well that's great for them but, being disabled I need to be a little more diligent in finding reliable transportation, especially if there is the possibility of a no notice engine fire, as I don't move as quickly as I once did. If this is normal practice for them, then I can only assume that they don't care about the handicapped, veterans , or just plain are not concerned about any of their customers safety. Only selling vehicles matters to them. I had read a couple of other reviews that said they had problems and then they could never get ahold of whoever they were dealing with.
