Luke and his team are incredibly professional instructors who are truly dedicated to bringing out the best in each student. Ladies, if you're feeling a bit intimidated or worried that you'll be treated differently, don't be. The only thing you really need to survive AFA is a sense of humor (that goes for the guys too) I remember sitting in college, debating whether it was the right path for me or if I should take the leap and pursue a trade. I'm beyond glad I did. I have absolutely no regrets about attending AFA. Ralph, Ronnie, Doc, and Kyle not only taught me during my time there, but they continue to teach and support me even after graduation. Whether I need extra practice or advice, before an interview or for a weld test their doors are always open. Luke, Robert, Marcio, and Gus have also been incredibly supportive and instrumental in helping me grow in my welding career. Never in a million years did I think I'd find myself in aerospace, but here I am and I couldn't have done it without the amazing team at AFA. And of course, shoutout to the wonderful ladies in the office, they are always a delight to talk to and often the highlight of my day. Whatever I needed, they were there to help. P.S. Sorry it took me so long to leave a review... I've been busy working at the jobs you guys helped me get!

From day one, the American Fabrication Academy taught me the foundational skills I needed to enter this trade and gave me lifelong mentors I now consider family. Before attending AFA, my only work experience was babysitting. After graduating in March, it took a little time, but by May I had job offers from SpaceX and Anduril Industries at just 19 years old. I'm beyond grateful for how much this school helped me during and even after the program. If you're looking for a trade school that truly cares about your future not just your tuition this is the place. The staff here go above and beyond to set you up for success, and that support doesn't end when you graduate. I want to give a special thank you to all the instructors who were a part of my journey: Luke, Marcio, Kyle, Ronnie, Doc, and David, Robert, as well as Gus, the recruiter, and Silvia at the front desk. Each of them played a role in my growth. They're not only incredibly knowledgeable, but they also know how to keep things fun always joking around, but dead serious when it comes to teaching you the craft and work ethic this industry demands. In my opinion, AFA is the top trade school in California. To this day, I'm still learning from the advice and lessons they gave me things I never got from traditional high school or anyone for that matter. Forever grateful for the family I made at AFA. Thank you for everything. -Christine class #39

My son went to this school at 19 years old. He is now 24. He fell behind due to a glare on the lens of his helmet affecting his ability to see clearly. He does need glasses for his condition called amblyopia. His eye is not lazy but things are not clear when good eye is covered. Anyway he can still see clearly. The school requested to have a meeting with my son and husband. In the meeting they explained my son was falling behind. Then they requested for him to go to get a note from an optometrist stating whether or not he could continue with the course. My husband did as requested. To make a long story short they had requested that he seek help at another welding school to get himself caught up and come back to complete the course. My son complained how the instructors were not very helpful and rarely gave him any instructions. He was just left to fail. After being kicked out of this school, they continued to take $300 out of my account. On top of the 10k that it cost to go here he had to pay another tuition fee at another school. My son ended up getting injured at his first job. He is still suffering after 4 years. Had 2 back surgeries and can not work. They still want the money. BTW he was only at this school for maybe a month. Then if things couldn't get worse, I got laid off of my job and a year later his father, my husband passed away. We explained to the admin office that we were suffering financially as my husband did not have life insurance. They did offer their condolences but did nothing to help our hardship. My son had to close his bank account because he was no longer getting workers comp benefits. Now my credit is damaged by them. P

The owner Dan is a master welder, professor and very knowledgeable. Instructor Jesse is one of the coolest teacher I had. She's very professional and very patient with a newbie like me. Her welding skill is off the chart and almost like art!!Classes are 3 hours M&W at night (they have other hours too). Each student is set up with a booth and all their equipments are first class. I only took the first class because I wanted to learn how to weld as a hobbyist, but most of the other students are there to get their AWS cert. I highly recommend this place if you want to further your welding career or simply just learn to weld.

The school approved a 90-day leave agreement. However, around day 82, before the agreed period ended, the school contacted me and informed me that my program was being shut down. They also stated that I would not receive my certificates and that I would still be responsible for outstanding fees and payments, despite the program being discontinued before I could complete it. I would not recommend this school. As a nonprofit organization, they often experience delays in receiving materials, sometimes taking two to three months. The staff's communication with students is unprofessional, and they do not provide meaningful assistance with job placement after completion. However, if someone is simply looking for a way to pass time, this school may be an option. Mr.Bridges
