The washer and dryer are front loading and the view is gorgeous!**Located directly in front of the state park, which is a nice, quiet change from the hustle and bustle of the "beach side". It is located on the main beach drag, Perdido Beach, and has beach access right across the street. I prefer this to an over-sized condo with too many children and people in general. As I said, it is located directly in front of the state park, which offers a beautiful view that is less seen in the area. A small alligator as well as many types of turtles live in the water out back. We also saw a deer wading through the water one afternoon. The back porch of our condo offered a perfect view of the sun setting. They also have a very clean pool complete with a very clean bathroom. They have a pretty gazebo in the back that offers a better view of the wildlife. There were people fishing from it as well. Romar lakes is centrally located in Orange Beach and is within biking (and walking) distance from Wal Mart, Winn Dixie, and Publix. It is also close to many different types of restaurants including sushi, italian, seafood, steak, mexican, chinese, and anything else you can think of. Chinese and multiple pizza places, including local ones, deliver. The condos are spacious with a nice layout and large porch. It's very quiet and the locals are very nice. I highly recommend these. I will be returning.

Throughout our…read moreuninterrupted week-long stay, I observed a diligent team of three to four individuals consistently tending to the grounds. Their prompt response to a sizable sinkhole near the entrance was commendable, as they promptly cordoned off the area and swiftly arranged for the replacement of underground pipes responsible for the leak and subsequent formation of the sinkhole. The meticulous upkeep of the grass, impeccable cleanliness of the pool area, and well-maintained outdoor restroom facilities further attest to their commitment to maintaining high standards. Additionally, the presence of amenities such as a basketball court and tennis courts adds to the appeal of this complex. While our stay was limited to one week, it is worth noting that residents of this condominium bear a substantial monthly Homeowners' Association (HOA) fee of $710, which amounts to an annual sum of $8,520. Admittedly, this may appear to be a considerable expense. However, it is essential to consider that the units within this complex, featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms, are valued at $750,000 each and are consistently rented out for weekly rates ranging from $4,000 to $5,000. Given the continuous occupancy and the need for ongoing maintenance, it becomes evident that the expenses incurred are necessary to ensure the property's seamless operation. During our stay, there was a temporary disruption as one of the three elevators experienced a malfunction. However, it is worth mentioning that the issue was promptly addressed and resolved by the end of the day, reflecting the management's commitment to maintaining a functional environment for residents and guests alike. It is important to differentiate between negative reviews pertaining to individual units and the vacation rental companies or individual owners responsible for leasing them, as these reviews do not accurately reflect the overall quality of the condominium complex itself. The management solely oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the shared facilities, including the pool, tennis court, outdoor areas, parking lot, gates, and other communal spaces, rather than the individual units. In conclusion, this condominium complex exemplifies efficient management and impeccable maintenance. The dedication of the staff to the upkeep of the property and the provision of desirable amenities contribute to its overall appeal. While some expenses may seem high, they are justified considering the value and demand for the units. It is important to recognize that negative reviews attributed to specific units are unrelated to the management's efforts in maintaining the complex's shared areas and are that of the individual owners (personal owner or some vacation rental company that owns the unit). When using Booking.com it ended up with a company called Vacasa. The code for the door wouldn't work and that was the beginning of was many issues. Maintenance items had been neglected and overlooked. The dishwasher smelled horrible and after reading other reviews people had reported the same problem for two years. The property is wonderful, just be sure to check who you rent from to make the most of your time. We've visited for almost 20 years and this was the first with problems. My rating of 3 stars is only for this visit and dealing with Vacasa as the manager of the unit.

Summerwind was amazing when we first started to stay here 13 years ago. Unfortunately it's not the…read moresame place today that it once was. The beach itself (literally the reason we have come year after year) has gotten so crowded you're basically trying to enjoy it while piled on top of strangers. The guys who rent the chairs and umbrellas take up THE ENTIRE ocean front so you either have to give them money for their chairs (we have our own) or look at peoples backs all day. Another option is spend everyday of your vacation waking at 4:30am to try and beat them to it to set your stuff up before they hog up the entire beach (not much of a vacation in my opinion). It never use to be that way, it's ridiculous how much beach space they take up. There's little to no room on the beach if you bring your own chairs, umbrella or tent. Regardless if you bring your own or rent from them though you're still on top of people all day it's so crowded. The actual condo itself was ok with everything we needed so there's no complaints there. It's dated and not luxurious by any means but also not the worst part of our trip. The big one however and probably the reason we will stop staying here after being a returning costumer for so many years is the same situation others have had with the parking. My family and I went to dinner our last night and upon returning to the condo's we had windows and sunroof open and I guess our parking pass blew off the dash and onto my center console without us noticing as we were getting out of the truck. We woke up the next morning to begin the task of packing and getting ready to leave only to find a cable lock on my rim. We payed a LOT of money to stay at this place for a week only to get booted in the parking lot on the last day. Had to pay another $270 bucks to get this thing off my truck so we could go home. A paying guest with a parking pass and they insult you with an almost three hundred dollar charge over a piece of paper not being on the dash. As I stated earlier, we have been coming here a long time and this has NEVER happened here before. What an insult to your guest. Don't expect anyone to help you or hear your case out either, they won't. There's no number to call on the ticket and management won't help you or give you any guidance. They just tell you they're not responsible for security and say sorry. Please learn from our experience and look elsewhere for your vacation. There's far too many options along the coast for the hard earned money you spend to come here and have a boot put on your car while piled on top of strangers on the beach all day. This place is NOT a fun and enjoyable vacation destination anymore. Stay elsewhere, you'll be thankful you did.

We have stayed in Vacasa properties several times so I know their policies are uniform at all properties. But seriously, not providing ANY kitchen necessities is inconvenient at best and damn irritating at worst. For a 3 day stay, they really do expect guests to buy salt, pepper, cooking spray, dishwasher detergent and COFFEE FILTERS! Need foil, an SOS pad, detergent for more than one load (and fabric softener)? Go buy some! As in other rentals, every cabinet is full of WAY too many dishes (30 tumblers and glasses in this unit that sleeps 6!) but no space is vacant for the guests' groceries! I will say, one maintanance issue with our unit was addressed promptly and resolved. I've also observed guests get better attention if they rent more costly rentals.

If you're planning a trip to Navarre Beach, do yourself a favor and avoid all properties managed by Vacasa LLC. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we encountered nothing but problems. To start, the condo had a coded entry door followed by two keyed entries. Despite being provided with a code, we were never given a key. We initially entered the condo using the code, but when one of the keyed doors accidentally shut, we were locked out. What followed was a nightmare of incompetence. We called and messaged every contact number provided, only to be met with disbelief and rudeness. Several representatives outright denied the existence of a keyed door, and I was hung up on multiple times. Finally, after nearly two hours of waiting, I reached a representative named Cedric who, thankfully, took our situation seriously and promised to send someone with a key. During this time, my family and I were forced to wait outside in the humid Florida weather for almost two hours. This trip was meant to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday, but instead, we spent hours outside, watching her birthday cake melt into a sticky mess. When the manager, Leslie, finally arrived, she showed no urgency whatsoever. Accompanied by two friends, she casually walked up to the second floor, unlocked the door, and left without a single word of apology or acknowledgment. The lack of urgency and basic human decency was astounding. What if a child had been trapped inside, or worse, on the balcony? The property's indifferent response to this safety hazard is inexcusable. Our plans for a birthday dinner were completely ruined, with no accountability from the property. Unfortunately, this was just the beginning of our troubles. Once inside, the property itself was riddled with issues. The refrigerator door wouldn't stay closed, forcing us to prop it shut constantly. All small kitchen appliances were dirty, or in poor shape. The furniture was stained and old. The kitchen table is leaning causing items to simply slide off on the floor. One of the bathtubs didn't drain properly, making it almost unusable as it took 20 minutes to drain after a shower. The cleanliness of the condo was subpar, dishes in the cabinets and drawers were dirty, there was a urine stain on one of the beds, and none of the bathrooms were clean. There was hair and grime in the showers requiring us to clean the entire space before we could relax. Moreover, the building's elevator had an inspection that was over a year out of date--a serious safety concern that I have documented and will be reporting to the fire department. During our stay, we also witnessed people engaging in explicit activities on a balcony, yet security seemed more concerned about policing my children getting out of the pool on time. Despite alerting security, nothing was done about the inappropriate behavior. To add insult to injury, after checking out on time and returning all wristbands as required, I was charged an additional $313. When I contacted the company to dispute this charge, they falsely claimed that we checked out an hour and a half late and left trash in the unit. This is an outright lie. I have Life360 screenshots proving when we left, and we were never informed that we needed to take out the trash, although all major trash was removed. I am now disputing these fraudulent charges with my bank and will be reporting this property to the appropriate authorities for the out-of-date elevator inspection. This entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of all properties owned by Vacasa LLC in Navarre Beach.
