After my failed first attempt of getting my tragus pierced at the place I got my helix pierced last year, I called to see if they did walk ins. I am so happy they took me in, I was determined to get my tragus pierced and now it was the best early birthday present I have done. I highly appreciate them so much they were so nice to me read more

Was visiting and walked in hoping they could get me in and they didn't disappoint. Place is really clean, professional and the girls are very polite My artist was Taryn (spelling?) and she is probably the softest handed artist I have ever had. She is really pleasant, patient and did an amazing job at an incredible price! Thanks from the old man from Washington, I appreciate you!! read more

I went in to see if I needed a piercing to be downsized. I fully explained what I needed and which piercing it was to the front desk when booking my appointment. When I saw the piercer, he did not check the piercing and completely took out the wrong piercing that was still fresh and healing. I explained to him that was the incorrect piercing and he shoved it back in the hole. He thought we were doing a jewelry change for a different piercing, rather than a downsize for a piercing I came in for. I was in so much unnecessary pain and now I have to worry about swelling and infection for the piercing he removed and shoved in. I ended the season and left the shop. There seems to be a lack of communication and clarity between all staff and clients. I'm in pain, no service was done, and there seemed to be a lack of empathy or responsibility for performing an incorrect service. Will not be coming back and I would recommend others to find somewhere else. read more

Let me start the review by saying that the piercer twist who did my daughters earrings was great. And the place smelled very clean. But know that it is a place close to the beach, so they make their money on tourism. There are better places for locals like me in the future. Their prices for jewelry are ridiculous. Paying for not only the front and back of the earring is insane as well as it's 26.99 per earring for the cheapest pair. As well at $15 for each back. Who ask for $30 for the back of earrings. They also DO NOT include an after care kit which is standard when you're paying $150 for an ear piercing. All and all if you want to go somewhere support local small shops and stay away from here. read more

Went here after multiple recommendations for a nose piercing. Twist was super sweet and did an excellent job.

If you need any kind of piercing done go see Lily! She's absolutely amazing!!! I went in to get my noops pierced and my second hole on my nose. She took her time and went over absolutely everything with me before she even started. Then talked me through EVERY step! She waited till I was ready and made sure everything was aligned perfectly. Did not make me feel rushed she calmed my nerves a lot! I will always recommend her to everyone! Thank you Lily! (: read more

Went here to get new nipple jewelry while my friend came to get a new Tragus jewelry and to have it inserted. So much more reasonably priced than the local piercing place -- without losing any quality of care or quality of products! Friendly females and males working the crew -- which feels comforting and welcoming. Thank you for helping me with my new nipple jewelry colors! Love them! read more

I was recommended here by a very close friend so I took her word, and I'm glad I did. I had watched millions of videos, read facts about getting my septum pierced and totally psyched myself out about it. But, the anxiety didn't hit until I pulled up to the shop and walked through the door. I immediately became clammy, hands sweating and nervous as ever! But, when I called and talked to my piercer on the phone I liked our vibe so I came. CODY SHORES is nice and you can tell he knows what he's doing. He said the initial clamps would be the part that hurt the most, but for me it was putting the ring in. He was gentle with me, and very understanding. Even after I stopped him on more then a couple occasions to ask frivolous questions. I would recommend this place to anybody wanting a tattoo, piercing, cool shoes, socks or accessories. I usually feel out of place, maybe even a bit awkward but not with any of them! CHECK THEM OUT!!!! Happy Yelping... read more

Nope. Just nope. Had an appointment- 30 minutes later the guy finally shows up. But then then take 3 people ahead of us because her "jewelry was sanitizing" but why did they wait until just now to do it? 20 more minutes later they finally called her back. Unprofessional. Sad because we were recommended this place by a friend. I'm glad they had a better experience. Now I had one star but I changed it to three just because my daughter did have a good experience with her piercer and he seemed to give her a lot of care instructions. I hate leaving bad reviews and rarely do but felt everyone should know to wait a while even with an appointment. read more

Jarvis did a tattoo for me about a week or so ago and he was excellent. He made sure the font and lettering style and spacing for the quote that I got tattooed was exactly how I wanted it, and was available for questions beforehand by text and scheduled the appt time for me to come in. We started right on time and he was ready to go with the stencil before I got there. I am 10 out of 10 happy with the tattoo and the whole process. Super clean and chill environment and prices were reasonable. Ask for Jarvis for your next ink. This is the second one he's done for me. read more

Came here to get an intimate piercing and this was the best experience by far. I felt comfortable from the call inquiring to leaving with my piercings! They are very knowledgeable and super clean! I highly recommend to anyone apprehensive or new to piercings. read more

I have been coming here for about 16 years. I got my first piercing done here around that time as well. It wasn't the best piercing but the experience was worth it. Fast forward 16 years later and I get three in one day. I am over the moon happy with them. My piercer Amanda was amazing. She took her time sanitizing the area and my jewelry as well as getting me pumped for my rather painful choice of areas to pierce. Amanda gave me all the proper aftercare instructions and some helpful tips for the healing process. I am over the moon in love my piercings. Also I must note that all of the staff that was there were so kind and not pushy at all. They were laughing and having fun and it's really nice to see that type of behavior walking into a business like that. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The staff at Carribbean Connection is amazing. I needed to replace my nose ring and ended up having to get it repierced. From calling in - to arriving at the store, - they took care of me and made me feel comfortable. I love my new nose ring and it looks great. I also recommend the shop. They have really cute things and a good variety of clothing, incense, natural stones and more! read more

This place is the BOMB! I'm very skeptic about tattoo and piercing shops because dealing with open wounds is very tedious. But, this place is top of the line and has gone above and beyond to not only make sure my piercing is healthy and clean, but to educate me in the process. Marlon (I hope I spelled her name right) and Cody have both done a fantastic job in helping me every time I've been here with an issue. If you're skeptical about cleanliness, professionalism, and reviews, don't worry about this place. They are wonderful and this should be everyone's #1 choice. read more

I was nervous at first on getting my ears pierced again. I finally did and and I can't thank them enough for answering my many questions and helping me feel comfortable. I just brought my 14 yr old daughter there to get a double helix piercing. I wasn't sure what it would be like bringing my kids to a tattoo parlor. The place was awesome! Clean, organized with nice merchandise. The employees were all great! The guy at the counter was super helpful. Cody did the piercing and he was knowledgeable and really knew what he was doing. My daughter said that it hurt a lot less than she expected. Highly recommend this place! read more

Went into the shop to get a helix piercing. It's been probably over 10 years since I had anything pierced so I'm sure there are policies and laws in place now regarding cleanliness, etc. but I was pleasantly surprised by the whole process. Neither one of the two people I encountered were super bubbly people but they did an excellent job. Marin was super knowledgeable about all the products and piercings and didn't push anything on me including the saline used as after care for piercings. She educated me and let me make my own decisions, which I appreciated. Cody did my piercing and before we even began he asked me how do you care for a piercing afterwards. After a few piercings and being a nurse, I didn't think this was necessary but I was wrong. He simply stated why Including scientific facts and he was absolutely right. He wasn't all that friendly during the process but had a good technique and it looks great. And he was appreciative of my tip and that's always a plus! Products are top of the line which is something I need with sensitive ears/skin. A little pricey but worth it. Highly recommend if you're looking for professional piercers! read more

I went in 2 days days ago to get my daith pierced. Cody was fantastic! Definitely my go to guy! Everybody there was totally chill, very nice people. Very sterile process, the MOST sterile I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Love, loved him-- he'll definitely be doing my next tattoo!! :) :) highly recommend this place and him!! read more

I was so impressed with the staff here! My daughter finally decided that she wanted to get her ears pierced. The front desk person explained everything I needed to have for her, and was patient with my daughter picking out her earrings. Then I was really blown away by the piercer! He was so thorough with his explanation of everything that was going to happen and again, very patient with her because I think he could tell she was anxious. Also, as a nurse, I was very pleased to see how perfect his sterile technique was! All in all, a great experience - thank you so much!! read more

This business really cares about its customers. This review is taking the place of a 1-star review that had been here, a review entirely based on the actions of my former tattoo artist, who now no longer is employed here. Greg, the owner of Carribbean Connection, reached out to me a few weeks back, wanting to give me a heartfelt apology and to see what he could do to make things right. This place has been running for over 27 years, and has always been devoted to making sure their clients aren't just satisfied, that they are over the moon and loving it. I went in today to check things out, after not having been there since the incident with that former employee. It felt like I walked into a room of friends I hadn't seen in a while. I was immediately greeted, and it felt so good to come back. I then got to talk with Greg and Shavon, and it was obvious how much they love what they do, and love the business and those who they serve. If you are looking for kickass beachy merchandise, a piercing, or a tattoo, I can think of no finer place in all of Jacksonville at the very least. Maybe all of Florida for all I know. A place where you aren't just customer #38, you are a client and respected. Stop in today, you'll be happy you did. read more

Well lit, friendly staff. I was happier with the old location (right next door) w/2 floors and a pipe shop. Tattoo and piercing in a clean calm atmosphere where privacy is givin'. It WAS a great place to find hard to find shoes and clothing but NOW it switched to more less T-shirts and crocs shoes. More -less trendy stickers and T's. Awesome selection of body jewelery and good tattoo artist from local areas. Cool hammocks and swing chairs in the summer time on the outside deck ,on display, you can chill in (test out). Get concert tickets there as well. Not bad -- I DO STILL miss the old C.C. but times change and no more "glass back room" or hard to find clothing. I have gotten pierced there 2xs and had friends get tattoos and piercings there as well. CLEAN and professional. A-OK place been around for a long time. LOW cars will have an issue parking in lot but there is store front street parking. read more

I followed my tattoo artist here. Nolan's work speaks for itself so I'll just review the store. Very neat, good selection of product. Staff is friendly and helpful, someone even came out to open the door for me cuz I walk with a cane. I'm not sure as to what this stuff is supposed to cost, so I can't make a guess as to if it's pricey or not. read more

I'll be honest and say that CC isn't really my style. I generally go because they have a ticketmaster outlet. When I have gone in to buy though I've found their selection and prices to be excellent. By far the best thing about this place though is their people. Seriously some of the coolest people you'll ever meet. When I've been looking for sunglasses or shoes (only 2 things I've ever bought here other than tickets), they really seemed to have a good eye for what looked good and were very polite and helpful. As I said, I usually come for event tickets because it seems you have a better shot getting good seats here than by going online. They don't open until 10, but when the employees find you waiting outside the door early, they open quickly to let you in a few minutes before tickets go on sale so they have the best shot at getting you great seats. Five stars to Caribbean Connection! read more

I arrive to get a second ear piercing on my right ear. I like the way the outside of the building looks, the picture here doesn't do it justice, and the staff is not just young, but older, too, all respectful even if my hair is not so great today. Older, I thought that I would be out of place after reading these yelp reviews that got me here, but I want to visit this spot because of Ticketmaster, so I know where to go in the future. I'd say that I look 35 on my best days, according to my daughter. Today I look older, even a little bit frumpy after a long drive. Irregardless, everyone acts nice, even the youngest rocker, and I want to buy clothes there and get a nose piercing, but I just get my ears pierced for a reasonable price by an older gay guy. I learn what he knows about the pop art scene in Jacksonville Beach, and I find that interesting. I don't usually, anymore, sit around with rock musicians, so I like his stories. He relates unique art scene experiences that make the time pass quickly. He also gives me a nice list of celebrities that live in the area and other interesting facts. Meanwhile, is very professional about his work--the pain, minimal and brief, nothing like my first bloody ear piercing experience at a doctor's office when I was a teen. My budget is slim with Christmas gifts bought, but the price is reasonable with just $10 more for two, rather than one ear piercing, so I get the second done and now have four ear piercings. I leave 10 minutes later with no complaints, problems, blood. Dropping in anytime is not a problem. About 8 other customers are there when I'm leaving and about five were there when I arrived. read more

My husband and I met our 18 year old daughter there to get her a tattoo. We had agreed with her that her tattoo would be about 2 inches by 3 inches and she had sketched that before hand. When we arrived we had to wait a half an hour for Nolan to "draw" (trace) what my daughter had already made. When he finally came out with the design, he had made it about 9 x 4 inches! I said it was too large and that she had told you that she wanted it to be about 3 inches long. He said he was an artist and he would not do that size because it would look like crap in 10 years. He said the only way it would look good was in the size he had made it. He also said she could not put it where she wanted to, on her hip, because it was an awkward spot. Then we I tried to reason with him, because we have been through the tattoo process ourselves, he said that I was extremely rude!!! I could not believe the audacity of this guy!!! He tried to scam my sweet, naive daughter into spending 3 times what she had planned to, getting a tattoo 3 times the size she had planned, and putting it on HER body where HE wanted to put it! Then he insulted me so rudely that we walked out. Do NOT ever go here. Nolan is a horrible person and a nasty manipulator who tries to scam young females and rip them off. We went down the street and our daughter got exactly what she wanted, where she wanted, with wonderful, positive, supportive staff. Her tattoo looks beautiful! read more

I went to CC to get an estimate for having a half sleeve or 3/4 sleeve done. I went in and presented a basic idea to Jarvis and he seemed to understand what I wanted. We started a short time later and even though I gave him a general idea of what I wanted, he seemed to grasp my idea very well. We started with one lower arm section, waited a few weeks for healing and then went to stage 2, then 3, and are continuing. I have had tattoos done at multiple shops over the years, and this has been the first time that I felt comfortable with what I was getting compared to what I wanted. He has been nothing but professional and always confirms the idea before he starts to ensure nothing has changed. I did not fully understand the amount of work, time, and money that goes into something this big, but with his help, I have actually been looking forward to spending more money on my sleeve. Everywhere I go i receive compliments ( like I did much at all) and people engage in conversation around it. I appreciate his care and preparation, and look forward to finishing over the next month or so. Thanks Sir! read more

Love the store, the girl who was working not so much. Went in with my two kids to buy some stuff & look around. The girl who was working followed us through the whole store, I guess she thought I was going to steal. She made my daughter & I very uncomfortable standing over our shoulder. She even took the stuff out of my hands I was going to buy & said I will hold this for you. Didn't even ask me. I wanted to buy more but she wouldn't get the heck out of my way. Well I got news for her, I Would Not Steal At All, & Especially with my two children there. I'm a RN, I don't need to steal. I've been going to that shop probably since she was in kindergarten. Here's a tip "get some cameras, so you don't have to watch the customers like a hawk & follow them like a lost puppy". Next time she'll get a piece of my mind! read more

I'll preface this with Caribbean Connection is not normally my style. However, I asked my tattoo artist who she knows that would do the specific piercing I was looking at. She told me Cody Shores. I went in, talked to Cody. I was a nervous wreck. I had thought about this piercing for many many months and I had ALOT of questions. He was super super gentle, very concerned after the fact, and had no problem answering all of my questions. He has the patience of a saint. I got my piercing last Thursday (3/5/15) and I've called him seven times since then, and been in the store twice so he can look at it and tell me I'm delusional and that its not rejecting. And every time I call or go in, he's very reassuring, and sweet. Turns out he used to pierce at the shop I used to go to for tattoos, (he even tried to fix my jacked up nose piercing once) I don't pierce often, but I'm so glad I found Cody to do my future piercings, should the occasion arise! read more

Carribbean Connection is a Jax Beach staple. This surf, skate, tattoo, piercing, clothing, and Ticketmaster purveyor is popular with a wide range of patrons and it shows in their small but eclectic selection of merchandise. On any given trip to C.C. you could leave with a pair of Vans, a new bauble for your belly ring, some incense, sleep shorts, and tickets to an upcoming concert. A lot of their gear is your typical, over-priced surf swag, but they offset this by sprinkling in more reasonably priced items and brands. As a noted jewelry addict, I found their selection of charms and dangles to be quite diverse for a surf/skate shop. The staff is friendly and conversational, and they seem genuinely interested in informing customers about their merchandise and any deals going on. The last time I stopped in, Aaron helped me out, and he was just a straight-up awesome guy. It makes a shopping experience so enjoyable when you feel truly welcomed and engaged by the staff. (But not pestered to buy anything!) All around this is a cool, little spot. read more
