Starting the new year, I told myself I would get out of my comfort zone and try new things…read more Instagram must have been reading my mind when I was targeted for a "Free Intro Class" to my local Pure Barre. From there, I was able to simply sign up via the add. Later, I was conveniently contacted by an automated text system that kindly reminded me of my reservations. Day of, I made it right before the start of class so, I unfortunately missed the tour of the studio. I quickly signed my waivers and jumped in right at the nick of time! The studio was small but very neat. First Impressions: A neatly arranged front entryway with branded gear and waters for sale, along with the front desk to your left. Behind the wall was their only studio. It's a pretty good size for such small parameters at the Vinings Jubilee. I'm unsure If I was the only newcomer, but everyone seemed a bit more familiar with the routine. The instructor positions herself at the front of the room facing the mirrors. Everyone else is evenly spaced at their own spot at a bar along the 4 walls, and I was in the middle at a stand alone bar. The class was moderately tough. Some parts were a bit more challenging than others, but all of that depends on your skill level. I truly believe any level individual could come and take this class and walk away with a good burn. Some areas of criticism: - I was never introduced to the instructor or welcomed to the class, but this could of been due to me being right on time. It would have been nice to have felt noticed and welcomed. - The instructor could have been more attentive during the workout in order to help make adjustment to posture/ positioning during the routine. There was a few times I felt unsure of I was doing, or if I was even doing the correct movement! As I would look around, I noticed everyone was doing some variation of what she was doing. I would prefer more instruction. While working hard time seems to move so slow! The class included the use of a small ball, 2 hand weights ( which you can change out according to your strength level), and a loop resistance band. We did some pretty cool exercises! Definitely creative stuff Post class, the receptionist and the instructor spoke with me shortly about the different classes they offer and some membership options. Although I opted not to sign up, I did get in a good workout.

Every instructor is kind, approachable and super helpful. I am so thankful I have finally found a workout that I love and an environment that keeps me coming back for more. I have been an athlete my whole life and my body at 33 has never looked better than it does now. I love that I can get in and out in an hour and be done for the day. No intimidating gym equipment necessary. I cannot say enough good things about Pure Barre and the Vinings location specifically. The energy level is high and keeps you constantly motivated to do your best. Maggie and her team are the best!

Tl;dr Great energy but very repetitive routines. These Zumba classes weren't as exciting to me but…read moreyou may like them- they're easy to follow! Every instructor has their own style, so id heavily recommend to try a few classes first before committing! Z U M B A C L A S S E S I've attended Sat and Mon classes taught by LeSonya Letona. I love her energy and excitement! However she only has a select some 10-15 songs and recycles them. If you like very repetitive movements and easy dance moves, then shes a great Zumba instructor for you. She was too repetitive in my opinion. It's very easy to follow along with her. By the second time I went to her class, I could already remember/guess her moves. The evening classes usually have about 10-20 people per class. The morning classes often have 5-10 people per class. I like upbeat and personable instructors who encourage individual expression, and teach various dance moves. Although zumba has a lot of repetition, I want to be able to keep up while continuously learning some new moves/expression. A little challenge makes it a great workout! W A I T No need to come early. Just arrive 5 mins prior or on time to class! P R I C E I bought a 10 class Groupon here because I just moved here and wanted to look for Zumba classes to try out since bay club and 24hr fit isn't available near me. $10 walk in class $45 5 classes $60 10 classes $70 monthly unlimited For just the classes and the quality of classes, I think the price is definitely too steep. It's located near Costco! 2997 Cumberland Blvd Suite 230 Atlanta, GA 30339 B E C A R E F U L If you want to add your own little flair/expressions, make sure you stand in the back! Otherwise the manager will come up to you and tell you off. (Ie: When we are moving forwards, two steps to the left and two steps forward, the instructor doesn't move her hands, but I add my flair and do a pulling motion with my hands and arms as if I'm pulling myself forward. This is not ok!) ____ MY ENCOUNTER The manager told me it wasn't ok to change up the moves so I nicely apologized to her and then also approached LeSonya and apologized to her as i didn't want for her to think I was disrupting/being rude. LeSonya responded kindly and said she didn't think I was, but she didn't want the new people to be detered by any variation. So I just said I'd stand in the back. I don't want drama. I'm just here to enjoy the music and workout. I thought it was weird because they don't have to look at me..? We can watch whoever we want. Also, I was standing on the very side of front row. I wasn't making my own routine but only adding my own personality. I've never heard of this type of complaint in my few years of attending zumba classes at other facilities. Every instructor has their own style, so id heavily recommend to try a few classes first before committing! This place wasn't my cup of tea but it may be yours!! LA Fit is just a better fit for my fitness journey.

I just moved to the area and was very eager to find a new yoga studio ASAP. I signed up for the $30…read moreone week trial for the classes since it looked like the best value. I was so disappointed in this studio. It's in a great area, but the studio is only one room for everything, very cramped, and when people come in early for the next class it is disruptive during the yoga rest at the end of the practice. The class was Ok, there was a lot of dead space between moves, and it did not feel like a very good workout overall. And there were only a few moves gone over, not very cohesive. I tried calling a few times to cancel my last 3 classes that I reserved because I had to return home to New Orleans last minute for a family emergency, but there was no voice mail, the phone kept ringing. I was fine loosing the $30 since I only was able to attend one class for the week. I planned on sending an email once my flight landed back home and I was able to get settled and help my family through this difficult time, obviously sending an email to a yoga studio after several attempts at calling, was not my main priority. When I got to my computer yesterday, I had received a very snarky email from the owner advising me that she was charging me $10 for each class I missed, when I explained that I tried to call and inform that I could not attend, she very rudely replied that it is not her responsibility to cancel my classes for me. Over it, and make sure you do not save your credit card information to the site, they WILL charge you without your permission and there is no option to delete your card info once added, you can only edit or add another card. I recommend the Vita Prana Studio a little further down Atlanta road if you are new to the area.
