Starting the new year, I told myself I would get out of my comfort zone and try new things. Instagram must have been reading my mind when I was targeted for a "Free Intro Class" to my local Pure Barre. From there, I was able to simply sign up via the add. Later, I was conveniently contacted by an automated text system that kindly reminded me of my reservations. Day of, I made it right before the start of class so, I unfortunately missed the tour of the studio. I quickly signed my waivers and jumped in right at the nick of time! The studio was small but very neat. First Impressions: A neatly arranged front entryway with branded gear and waters for sale, along with the front desk to your left. Behind the wall was their only studio. It's a pretty good size for such small parameters at the Vinings Jubilee. I'm unsure If I was the only newcomer, but everyone seemed a bit more familiar with the routine. The instructor positions herself at the front of the room facing the mirrors. Everyone else is evenly spaced at their own spot at a bar along the 4 walls, and I was in the middle at a stand alone bar. The class was moderately tough. Some parts were a bit more challenging than others, but all of that depends on your skill level. I truly believe any level individual could come and take this class and walk away with a good burn. Some areas of criticism: - I was never introduced to the instructor or welcomed to the class, but this could of been due to me being right on time. It would have been nice to have felt noticed and welcomed. - The instructor could have been more attentive during the workout in order to help make adjustment to posture/ positioning during the routine. There was a few times I felt unsure of I was doing, or if I was even doing the correct movement! As I would look around, I noticed everyone was doing some variation of what she was doing. I would prefer more instruction. While working hard time seems to move so slow! The class included the use of a small ball, 2 hand weights ( which you can change out according to your strength level), and a loop resistance band. We did some pretty cool exercises! Definitely creative stuff Post class, the receptionist and the instructor spoke with me shortly about the different classes they offer and some membership options. If you are considering or have been considering trying Pure Barre but are too nervous to try something new, this is the Pure Barre location for you! Every instructor is kind, approachable and super helpful. I am so thankful I have finally found a workout that I love and an environment that keeps me coming back for more. I have been an athlete my whole life and my body at 33 has never looked better than it does now. I love that I can get in and out in an hour and be done for the day. No intimidating gym equipment necessary. I cannot say enough good things about Pure Barre and the Vinings location specifically. I took my first class at Pure Barre Vinings during one of their Open House weekends, convinced that I would hate it, as I am usually not a fan of group workouts. However, PB Vinings has completely changed my attitude towards group workouts, and more more specifically, boutique fitness establishments. I really enjoy working out here, as the instructors are so welcoming and will cheer you on as long as you show up. Yes, your first few classes will be hard until you learn the general format of the class and the lingo the instructors use, but I can honestly say that every workout class I have attended at PB Vinings has been a good one. I have definitely seen changes in my body, and plan on continuing my membership with PBV for the foreseeable future. read more

I've been to 2 classes and adore/crave the experience... I am a casual bodybuilder, and former long distance runner (NOT naturally flexible or graceful). This class helps build mind-muscle connection to make my weight lifting more effective, and DEFINITELY has a sculpting/shaping effect. I want my butt bigger, not just "toned", so I could never do JUST barre, but it burns fat on my upper thighs, as well as improves SHAPE of all muscles. As far as the clientele... The older ladies in class are very sweet and encouraging, the younger girls seem stuckup, however EVERYONE is focused on getting through the intense moves. So, don't worry about being new! You'll probably feel most comfortable wearing sticky socks & black tights, but I wear whatever clean socks I can find, and prefer colorful stuff. I've done barre at other studios, which had more space, cuter decor, or hotter music, but the energy here is unbeatabale. Not sure if its the dim lighting, serious instructors, or just structure of the routine, but everything about class helps you focus and get in "the zone". read more

Please don't think you have to be beautifully thin, wear makeup to class, or come in a matching Lululemon outfit in order to enjoy Pure Barre. Yes, there are a lot of stereotypical "Barre" ladies at the Vinings studio, but there are plenty of us "average" women as well. The vast majority of students only care about doing their personal best work in class and aren't going to notice (or care) what you look like or how often you come out of position. The Vinings studio is very clean, and the teachers are friendly, helpful, anf encouraging. Each teacher has her own style, and I recommend going to all of the teachers at least once before you decide Pure Barre isn't for you, is too hard, etc. It takes awhile to feel confident, and sometimes you just need things explained a little differently. The studio does have special class packages that aren't listed on the website, so make sure to check the sign at the front desk. If you plan to come a lot, one of the unlimited packages will be the best deal. My one complaint about the Vinings studio is that the classes are almost always filled to capacity and are filled days in advance. Also, they have an enforced, extremely strict cancellation policy: you are charged one class off your package ($15 if you have an unlimited membership) if you cancel later than 4 hours before class, or later than 9pm for a morning class the next day. This can pose a problem for those of us who work, especially in jobs that often require unscheduled late hours. read more

Requirement of Barre class: 1. Be a beautifully thin woman and wear makeup to class 2. Wear matching Lululemon outfit 3. Try and make it all the way through class without a muscle group shaking....impossible The ladies at Vinnings are top notch and very friendly. I enjoy this studio a little more than the Westside location. However on the Westside they have a lululemon store next door to the store (see requirement #2). I am really a runner and cardio lover myself but with a recent injury I needed some cross training and I am hoping this will be it. Working the gluts and other muscle groups I really will not work on my own or in the gym keeps me coming back for more. I really enjoy this studio. The vibe is consistently positive and welcoming. The ladies are engaging and really encouraging; they make you gain so much confidence in your work. I love how they know each person by name (even when you are new) and take the time to adjust you when you missing the mark :) I absolutely love that the place is always looking clean and pristine, that the classes start and end on time. I love that the teachers all look SUPER great and range from younger to more mature and deliver the same amount of value in each class. I have been coming to PBV for a few years now. I absolutely love the community that Maggie and the Pure Barre Vinings team has built! Most all of the clients are very friendly and welcoming. Not to mention the workouts are unlike any workout there is! The classes are tough, but totally do-able for every body type and skill level; so don't worry about being "the new kid"! The instructors are encouraging and will correct your form to help you get the best out of your workout. I highly recommend PBV to anyone looking to try a new workout, you won't regret it! Drove 25 minutes to this studio and was one minute late because of traffic and they would not let me in. I'm a member that pays $149 a month. I started PB after a running injury and so glad I did! After consistently going to classes since January, I've noticed so much improvement in my core, and my arms are way more sculpted. I still run and do cycle classes for cardio but consider this the strength I do 3x a week. I prefer this studio to others because the parking is super easy and it is such a welcoming environment for everyone. read more

I started coming to Pure Barre about 6 months ago, and have loved it ever since. The whole team is warm and welcoming and truly take an interest in your life and your goals. The classes are always fun and I've seen such an improvement in my health. The clients are just as friendly as the staff. The retail space is also amazing, you'll always find the latest cutes athletic wear available. The only draw back is parking can be a little tough, but that's not Pure Barre's fault. I've been going to pure barre since 2011. I have reached 250 club at studios in North Carolina and NYC. For $225/month, I am surprised wireless access for clients is not included nor are towels included or showers. Additionally, the class availability is largely focused on clients who do not have full time jobs (no classes offered after 7p and limited availability on weekends/holidays). Pros include access to multiple locations in the Atlanta area and a relatively lenient cancellation policy and equipment is in good condition as well as the technique has done wonders for my abs and arms. Fly barre has contractual pricing for $220 which includes showers, wireless, more class times, a bigger variety of classes and music if you go to barre regularly. read more

I tried Pure Barre for the first time in the beginning of November and have been hooked ever since. Pure Barre Vinings is the only Pure Barre studio that I have been to and I absolutely love it. The instructors are amazing, the studio is very clean, and the workout is awesome. I have tried all kinds of different workouts - hot yoga, Les Mills (RPM, Combat, Bodypump, GRIT), and pilates. Pure Barre is the only workout that I have come across that kicks my butt and also makes me focus on the workout and not my to do list. I am completely and totally addicted to Pure Barre. It's an absolutely phenomenal workout. I have been attending classes at Pure Barre Vinings since October, and I have noticed a significant change in my physical appearance, as well as overall health and fitness level. The workouts are incredibly challenging and effective. The instructors do an amazing job at conveying the unique philosophy behind the workout. They are diligent in correcting form and posture, and always provide motivation to push yourself a couple body-changing seconds longer. The atmosphere of Pure Barre Vinings is also fantastic.
