Here I go again... I want to brag about my latest find…read more I've been loosely on the hunt for a cross stitched alphabet for my daughter's room. There's many kinds of vintage alphabets, many stitched by children as a learning tool in the late 1800s. They're usually more than $150 depending on the quality. This weekend I was back at the willows and what did I find.... The cutest cross stiched alphabet! Not the 19th century antique I was expecting, but a near perfect condition, hand made, alphabet with a cute custom red frame. And the best part? $35! On this trip I also found vintage Apple plates and a hobnail milk glass box. All amazing prices! Some visits are better than others, but The Willows is always worth coming to.

There are rooms of games, Maine items, body products and jewelry, and kitchen wares and jams. There are Christmas themed rooms, kids games, candles and glassware. You name it, they have it. The kinds of things offered are probably selected through the eye of the buyer, and, to be fair, there was a wide range of options. After walking through, and looking at a whole lot, I was still unable to find a gift that caught my eye. I see that as more my problem than theirs.

There is a central cashier, however, there are "booths" set up inside. This large rambling space has many sections and each booth is filled to the brim. Some are heavier on furniture and wall art, while another might be heavier on yarn and craft stuff. Many booths have DVDs, CDs, (cassettes and even 8tracks!) PlayStation games , Nintendo games and other gaming systems as well as packaged used systems w controllers, comic books, coins and bills, knick knacks, glassware, plates, cups, glass tobacco pipes, knives, t-shirts, hats, Jewlery, pewter items including belt buckles ... You name it. You can wander around the maze of the building and almost not even see anyone else. We were greeted by two friendly dogs which made our day. When you go to the cashier, he will go through the tickets on your items and get the booth # and ring you up. It's efficient and low key. They also buy items, so if you have something you want to sell you might want to take it in and see how that works.

Fabulous Maine flea market finds upcycled and mixed with a bit of Joanna Gaines/Fixer Upper goodness. I hope that does this shop justice. I could've purchased a dozen things but I kept looking and realizing "I love it because I already own it". The owner has an incredible eye there's a ton of variety. On the day I was there, she had lots of great furniture pieces (think side tables, small dining tables, small and medium sized dressers and sideboards, chairs, etc.), textiles (fun, new pillows, blankets etc.) and lots of functional/decorative pieces like containers (I found a great egg sorting bin identical to one I have sitting on my coffee table),old kitchen tools, lamps, ladders (hard NOT to buy one - she had a few!) and vintage-looking signs.
