"Quaint" does not even begin to do it justice. Unfortunately, after arriving, we found out that Smith's antiques was the only shop in town open as most of the others do not open until May. We ventured in and spent a long long time looking at what amounts to be an incredible collection of vintage and antique items. Slice of life items from old Maine homes. Glass milk bottles, ice cream boxes, dairy containers, grocery signs, old wall telephones, mirrors, pieces of furniture and almost any kind of bric-a-brac you can imagine. The incredible collection in this store makes it an almost historical museum like experience. It is truly a fascinating place to spend an hour or so looking through a window into the past. With that said, the prices seem somewhat random and can range wildly. A beautiful solid looking coat rack might be $150 while a cardboard sign for cheese could be $85. There really are no deals contained within but this might be the kind of place to find the exact piece a collector might be looking for. Definitely worth a stop if you happen to be meandering along Main Street in Cornish Maine.

Fabulous Maine flea market finds upcycled and mixed with a bit of Joanna Gaines/Fixer Upper goodness. I hope that does this shop justice. I could've purchased a dozen things but I kept looking and realizing "I love it because I already own it". The owner has an incredible eye there's a ton of variety. On the day I was there, she had lots of great furniture pieces (think side tables, small dining tables, small and medium sized dressers and sideboards, chairs, etc.), textiles (fun, new pillows, blankets etc.) and lots of functional/decorative pieces like containers (I found a great egg sorting bin identical to one I have sitting on my coffee table),old kitchen tools, lamps, ladders (hard NOT to buy one - she had a few!) and vintage-looking signs. She also had beautiful jewelry, soaps and candles - all new. I wish I had had my camera with me - sorry no photos, but take my word for it, Vintage Souls is worth a look!
