Carrefour is a common grocery brand in Italy, not unlike jewel/dominicks/etc.
They have both organic and non organic produce.
Things to note: you need to add a stamp to your weighed fruits/vegetables (look for the tag # on the produce sign).
Cheeses are awesome and cheap. Real wine isn't (look for the aaa/doc label). Oh and italy = easy access to figs, cheap pesto, other goodies. Remember that here, uncle ben's is an import food.
overall, home cooked food made from food obtained at a carrefour will beat food at a tourist trap restaurant anyday. I strongly suggest exploring a carrefour if you are in Italy for the first time. read more
