I've had a great experience at One Candle Story store in Glendale, CA, where all my ideas were properly addressed and I was able to find the perfect gifts for my friends. The owner of the store helped me chose matching personalized candles and other items and created nice arrangements with cute packaging within minutes. This is a family-owned small business and the store was clean and calm. What I love is that their candles are being prepared from natural ingredients and they also ship within the U.S. Everything made for the customers' comfort. Will definitely shop here again.

Today the door was open and I stepped in, and I am so glad I did. What a sweet find this place is! Sometimes shops like these can be overwhelming to me; however, there is nothing pretentious about One Candle Story. They make all their candles right there, you can see some of 'behind the scenes' right there in the front room, the candles and gems are really well priced, and most of all, Susan and her husband (the owners, I presume) were so pleasant and delightful, and very helpful. I'll certainly be back to shop for more gifts!

For the last few weeks I've burned through the entire KarenKlein candle collection so I could…read morereview each signature fragrance one by one. I'm doing this in part for my sales education (now that I'm working for KarenKlein) but I'm doing it mostly because I love knowing exactly how a product will perform in real life. I was given a KarenKlein Bellini Positano candle as a gift a few months back. I've been feeling really cheap (read:poor) lately so I just kept it on display. Who wants to burn a $32 candle when it looks so pretty just sitting there. I didn't think I would ever spend that much on myself but now that it's burning, I know for sure I'd buy another to replace it. I love the mild scent of peaches and champagne. The scent throw from this 11oz old fashion is perfect for my small two bedroom apartment. When the house lights are low, the flame glow shines through the Florentine paper creating a beautiful image. I've been using the decorative gift box as a pen holder on my desk. I have about 45+ hours of burn time logged and the candle is still has 1/2 remaining. I followed some advise I found on a candle blog and let the thing burn 2+ hours on its first lighting. They say candles have memories and will not "pool" if you let them melt all the way to the glass edges on the first burn. Who knew? So far no one has accused me of having an old lady smell to the place and oddly enough many have asked if my cat moved out..... I've started a blog to review each of the 11 signature fragrances (see my profile page). Who knows how long it will take to write them all but I'm trying. For now I can say the Bellini and the Lavender/Ocean Deep are my favorites so far.

I allowed the reeds to soak and then flipped them over for a stronger scent. I DID NOT need to do that. The fragrance waffed throughout the room and put me in a romantic mood, so I made some pasta, which I LOVE, and enjoyed a taste of Italy in my livingroom! I also ordered the triple milled Bergamot/Sandlewood soap and matching candle. They aren't even out of the box yet, and my closet ,where they are stored, smells divine. I ordered them for a friend, but I am going to have to revisit that idea! My salesman, Jay, threw in some other samples so I could see what else Karen Klein had to offer, and when all of the family gathered to watch FSU cream Boston College Friday night, the opinion was unanimous, hands down, the Pear/Water Lily/Secilian Lemon that I had burning in the bathroom was the favorite. I know that in my family, there are at least 5 more customers! Even though, the candles are a little pricey, they burn forever! The candle was burning for 8 hours and it still has a long way to go! Thanks, Karen, for researching and creating a quality product.

Ok, holy dang... Mackenzie works wonders. I got a facial (I think it was the signature facial - the…read moreone where there is a deal for new clients) with some enhancements - the micro current and the light therapy. The micro current made my face dance all around - was kind of fun haha. The light therapy was relaxing - Mackenzie gave me a scalp massage while I was under the light. I'll get to the results but I want to start with how I ended up at Xeba and why the results were so important and meaningful to me. So, here it goes... I signed up for the facial because I had been going through a very rough time for over a year. 2025 was the worst year of my life - I lost my best friend - my soulmate of a girlfriend to cancer, a childhood friend to a brain aneurysm, my two cats from sudden illnesses, my parents became very sick and there was generally a lot going on with my personal life and my health that was not so happy. All of it aged me so hard. I could win awards for how good I am at wearing my stress, grief and depression. I hate it. I kind of became a bit of a recluse because of how little I felt or looked like myself since my best friend died. I felt like I just broke after that. My face screamed doom and gloom even when I was in a good mood. Soooo, I was told by my friends, my family and my grief therapist that I should do something nice for myself. Some self care. Like, repeatedly ha. So I did. I walk past Xeba all the time but disregarded it for a while thinking it would be stupidly expensive like everything else in this neighborhood. I was wrong. The pricing of their skincare products is in line with what I'm paying for my Dermalogica only they're all natural and I'm finding that they last a lot longer based on how much I need to use. I'm not good at keeping up with self care appointments like facials but I am SUPER good at spending way too long at researching and price comparing every place only to not follow through (womp womp). The pricing of their facials and their enhancements are super competitive. Especially with their new client deal and their membership. Anyway, the results - I went in thinking, cool, this will feel good and maybe it'll help my skin be less pissed off. The result was so much more than that. I've never had those enhancements - I think it was the micro current that really did it but I left there looking like I HADN'T just been through hell and back over the past year and a half. I went to go use the bathroom before I left and had to apologize for being in there for so long before meeting Mackenzie up front. I couldn't stop looking in the mirror. I looked younger somehow. I thought you had to get crazy sh*t done to yourself to have immediate results like that. Like, I know it's not permanent and I need to go back regularly to keep up with my progress (which I will - I got the membership) but holy sh*t. I wanted to cry. My face wasn't puffy, my skin looked tighter, my face didn't look droopy. It was like I lost weight or something. The two insane forehead lines that bother me were less noticeable. I think it was my eyes that really got me. They no longer showcased the grief I've been trying to pull myself out of. I know this was just a facial but it's the most self care I've done for myself since my best friend died. I didn't like looking at myself in the mirror anymore and now all of a sudden I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror because my face actually looked like it had life in it again. It felt really cool. I'm 40. I'm struggling with all the changes in my body and how much more everything screws with my skin, my weight, etc. Seeing myself look like I was 10 years younger gave me a kick in the butt to prioritize stuff like this a bit more. I'm excited for my next appointment and I get excited to use my serums each morning and night. I'm keeping up with self care again which is a nice feeling in itself. I really appreciate Mackenzie. She's super knowledgeable, kind and she didn't push any products or services on me which was nice. l I told her I'm bad at keeping up with new routines but did want to try some serums to help with my greasiness and my adult acne, so I left with a couple based on her recommendations. She even helped me label the bottles for time of day to use because I'm a total brain fart in the morning and after a long day of work. I appreciate little stuff like that. Okee - I'm done with my novel. Thanks for reading. See ya soon Xeba :)
