We happened upon the Carrbridge Hotel on our road trip day heading from the Highlands down to Stirling. We got hungry while driving through Cairngorm National Park, so we got off the A9, ended up in Carrbridge, saw a sign about meals being served all day and stopped in.
The dining room itself was nice and clean, and the gentleman working as bartender and server was quite friendly. The menu is varied, including traditional Scottish fare, pasta, Indian dishes, and kebabs. I ordered the Cullen Skink-- a thick, potato-based fish soup similar to clam chowder-- and it was delicious. My husband tried the spicy beef kebab and said it wasn't spicy and the garlic mayo was odd, but that the beef itself was great.
I can't speak to the hotel itself, but if you find yourself in this bit of the Highlands, this is a good place to stop for a quick bite to eat. read more
