Our experience with Carpet Yard was excellent, beginning to end. We were moving into a home that needed renovating and they worked with us to complete the project in stages. After we picked the floor sample and the product arrived, CJ drove down to the house in Rumson, NJ during a holiday weekend to make sure it matched perfectly, despite us telling him he didn't need to. A great example of exceptional client service. We also had multiple rooms with different elevations that needed to be evened out and a sub floor built in one room, which Dennis completely with ease. We couldn't be happier with our new carpet installed by Carpet Yard. We needed two staircases and a hallway carpeted. CJ Winowski brought over some samples in the afternoon and gave a very reasonable price. His brother, Justin, came out later that same evening with a sample of some carpet for our basement staircase and landing. Two weeks later, the installers arrived on time as scheduled. I went to them unfortunately after a nightmare situation with another local carpet place and these guys were great. I went their about 7:00 and Jason - one of the salesman was just about to lock the doors. He saw me coming and welcomed me in. Took the time without rushing to hear my horror story and hearing I was on a time constraint for my daughters communion party He wanted to help and he did. He kept close contact with me to let me know everything was good and on time. He was amazing.. I have and will have nothing but great things to say about this store. I was totally ripped off. Their carpet samples had no labels. They said labels don't mean anything. This was a red flag. I ordered something I liked anyway which was a high dollar price. When carpeting arrived, color name was different. Called owner of store, he said all factories call it something different. Another red flag. I was already into it with large deposit and needed to move into my weekend home. After about 7 months carpet showed extreme matting and wear and buckling all over house. I requested that store come and inspect carpet. Owner's son said his father was on vacation. I asked, does that mean there are no business transactions eventhough store is open. I called 2 weeks later. They refused to come to my home. I filed complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Affairs. No resolution was made. So, I am out a few thousand dollars. That was outrageous. Any other store would have gladly come to inspect the carpeting. I am too trusting and always had wonderful luck with other stores. I should have paid attention to the first Red Flag. And by the way my home was used by me and husband (2 seniors) only on weekends. Do not use this store. read more
