On move in, the house that we are renting needed some work done. The kitchen flooring was torn up from the previous tenants, and the carpeting on the stairs was shredded from the previous tenants' cats. The rest of this house is carpeted and was cleaned and shampooed before we moved in, but the stairs had patches of missing carpet. Home Depot refused to just do the stairway, and wanted to replace almost all of the carpeting in the house. Our landlord gave us the choice of whether we wanted to keep the carpet, or go with hardwood for the whole house. We didn't want her to pay for the entire house to be carpeted or to have hardwood installed (it's just a lot of $... u know?). It's not that we mind hardwood, but we also have cats and would rather keep the carpeting. We asked her if she could find someone just to recarpet the stairway. The landlord called up Carpet King, and they had no problem with trying to match up the carpet color, and just carpeting the stairway. I will say, you can tell there is slight deviation in color, but we got what we wanted. Plush carpet on the stairs, and hardwood flooring in the kitchen. 2 weeks later, we noticed a corner of a plank not seated well in the flooring. I picked Carpet King, and the specialist who came out to suggest carpet types and measure my 3 bedrooms was Steve, who gave excellent advice. My carpet was manufactured back in the Midwest, and then installed yesterday by, primarily, Pedro and Daniel. As stated by the company, they showed up right after 9 am and got to work. They worked steadily from 9 am to about 3:45 pm, and did a great job, which included moving my heaviest furniture and two beds. Got quotes from three highly rated carpet installers and Carpet King was just a little bit more than the lowest bid. The thing that impressed me was how detailed Steve was down to the inch measurements. He wanted to help me save money by utilizing all the remnants and not have waste. I have a 3,200 sq ft home, mostly carpeted. I had been told it may take three days to get the whole house done but the four men were amazing workers and got it all done in ten hours! The WHOLE house. It was incredibly hard work. I watched them haul a whole roll of carpet on their backs and walk up the stairs, each man by themselves. Hundreds of lbs each. Cannot imagine how tired they were by the end of the day. The whole was very well done. Quality install. The attention to detail and the immediate install was awesome. I had a really great experience all the way around with Carpet King. Stephanie was a tremendous help picking out the carpet for my boat. They let me bring in a template to use to cut out the new carpet I wanted to replace. When I got home I laid it out and realized some dimensions were slightly off and started to panic. I immediately called Stephanie and she promptly scheduled her installation manager Simon to come out 2 days later. He did a wonderful job correcting both rooms. I realized later I should have just had them do the installation the first time but thought I could do everything myself. Everyone is polite and very customer service oriented. We got our carpet and Hardwood flooring installed by carpet king. We are highly satisfied with the quality of work and their professionalism. We shopped around in different stores and had a carpet sample that we really liked. Simon had promised us that he would get us that carpet. He later found that Great Floors had exclusive rights for that carpet, but since he had already promised us, he kept his word, and got the same carpet from great floors. Very few business would go that far to keep their customers happy. The Hardwood install was also of good quality and both the jobs were done very quickly. The Best Service ever for the Best Price!!!!!!!!! Great customer service! FREE, fast and efficient estimate, installation 2 days later!!!!!! One company wanted to charge $50 for the estimate that would go toward the job if we'd go with them. Another wanted a $200 deposit that was going to be credited back after the estimate. So many hoops to jump through. Carpet King gave us the free estimate right away, showed up on time. Had the estimate within the hour for the best price around and a good quality carpet. Less than 48 hours later it was installed by 2 very nice, professional and courteous people. We couldn't believe how efficient they were. They left the area spotless and the carpet vacuumed. I arrived at the International District Carpet King office and was happy to be able to park inside their warehouse. I was immediately helped by Stephanie Fung. I explained I wanted a quality but inexpensive carpet for my house, which I am renting. I brought along room dimensions I had taken. She recommended a carpet and the price was several hundred dollars lower than another business. I had to wait for a few days until they were able to schedule me since my installation was a 1/2 day job. I exchanged emails with her asking questions to which she courteously replied. While I was waiting I removed the carpet and pad myself. While this did not make the job cheaper, it did lessen the time for installation. The installer, Pedro was an expert, which his young years defied. He was careful, professional, thorough and considerate. When it was discovered I actually measured the room a little short, we discussed the need to make a seem. I worried about this but little did I know that Pedro knew how to make seems, seamless. He's a pro. I could not believe I could not see it. After the installation was finished I asked him about a few places along the edge and without argument, he secured them better. It is very reassuring to be around capable people like this when getting a carpet installed for the first time. The carpet looks great and I would recommend Carpet King to anyone. You may want to consider using their free estimate service though... and not do your own measuring, like me! read more

There measuring team caught a problem before it occurred in that the carpet I originally selected would have been too thick & my interior doors would not have opened or would have to all be trimmed at considerable expense. We were searching for an alternative to the very poor (nonexistent, really), service that we'd received from a company in Burien and noticed the many positive yelp reviews for Carpet King and decided to venture to the International District to check them out. Long story short, our bedroom carpet was installed just last week and we couldn't be happier with the company's services, from beginning through completion. We worked with Frank and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the merchandise, which made it much easier to narrow down our selection. He also let us take the sample book home for a few days prior to his scheduled carpet measuring appointment, which allowed us to "test" the carpet out with our wall paint, bedroom furniture, etc. Also, the area that we were re-carpeting was not a very large space, though Frank never gave the impression that this was a "less important" project.
