I filed a claim with my home insurance company for floor detaching, they sent American Leak Detection who said the floor issue was due to improper installation, so insurance company won't cover replacement. Carpet Cave claims they moisture tested, but there's no record and we recall asking for it and the installer saying we didn't need it because the house was relatively new. The floor sounds like horses clomping around when we walk. I guess it's a good alarm system. Filing with small claims is a boatload of paper work so I'm looking at a complaint with the state contractor's license board. It boils down to whether or not Carpet Cave moisture tested and prepped the floor or if my concrete slab suddenly became wet after a proper installation. (For fun I pulled up about forty planks and put them in the sun to flatten them out. It seems to work for a while but when they cool the warp returns.) read more

We were in the process of getting quotes for tile planks and had almost committed to one when a neighbor recommended Carpet Cave. Not only did we end up choosing luxury vinyl tile (LVT) instead of tile, the installation was top notch. The other quotes insisted we'd have to replace our baseboards which added a significant cost to the project. But Carpet Cave had another solution that didn't add any cost and it looks perfect. Also, the installers moved our furniture out and in. Others wanted to charge for that but Carpet Cave didn't charge extra. The price was great and the LVT looks and feels fabulous! This was the worst experience I've had with a flooring contractor. After visiting the showroom and picking out two materials, carpet and laminate, I ordered the carpet installer (who was a disaster, by the way) to show up and Carpet Cave brought the material and instead of installing laminate, they installed all carpet! When I brought it to the owner's attention, he didn't offer to make it right for me or anything. I've never been so disappointed. 3rd Generation family business, Carpet Cave is fantastic. Don't let the location fool you, sure they're not in the "nice" part of town, but man o man, you're the one that will benefit when it gets down to pricing. Quality is fantastic as well, and they've got pretty much everything you can choose from. Twice we've turned a large piece of "remnant" 12' x 13" into area rugs for about $500. Super high quality material and very aesthetic as well with the design. Not that we were looking for anything, but walking around, they've really got a nice selection of hard wood and vinyl as well.
