This job turned out good but sure didn't start that way. The staff at the store were all very helpful. We selected our laminate flooring and scheduled the measurement. Kayla came out as scheduled and did the measurement in a professional manner. We agreed and made payment as per the company's stipulation in the beginning of December 2023. We also scheduled the installation for January 8th. Well; the installation was pushed back twice because we were told the installer was backed up on another job. This wouldn't normally be a problem, but we have everything packed up for our two largest rooms except the largest furniture. The installer was supposed to contact us to look at the project prior to the job. That never happened so I called him the day before to make sure he planned on starting before moving the large furniture. They did show up on Monday as scheduled but that's were it got worse. They apparently couldn't scribe around the fireplace stone and became frustrated. They then both hop in the truck and run to Harbor Freight to get blades for the tool they needed to use. When they returned they said that didn't work. They then decided that they recommend undercutting the stone with a masonry saw. Well cutting masonry is extremely dirty so I said if that's the plan, I want it tented to keep the dust to that area. That was it for the first day....about three rows were installed. Laughable but I wanted to cry. The next morning he called about 10 am and said he is at Home Depot and the cost of materials was going to be around $500 plus about $300 additional for labor. I told him I would pay for some but not all of this because he never showed up to look at the project as stated on our contract and he showed up totally unprepared to get this job done correctly. He then told me he is an independent contractor and isn't in any contract with me so he isn't coming back! I immediately called Amber, the manager who within minutes had another installer that she could reassign to the project. She assured me that they will be able to get things corrected. She sent out Remi and Carlos. Well they stayed late that day and finished the living room before leaving for the day. They obviously knew how to scribe around the fireplace and didn't need to undercut the masonry as stated by the previous installer. By the end of the second day the entire project was complete and done in a very professional manner. The first picture is the flooring attempt by the first contractor after the first day. The second is the completed flooring at that location after Remi and Carlos took over. Thank you Amber for getting involved and sending these guys out to save the day. Bought carpet which I was told was as good as what I came in for.After two years not holding up. Installers destroyed my closet organizer, and the China that was on it they didn't measure the square footage of my house correctly so they had to get more which didn't match very well. They left trash in the front yard. I figured it was just a fluke so I went back and ordered some tile for my backsplash, I gave them the dimensions and they figured out that I needed three boxes of tile which was almost double what I needed. The salesman told me that if there was any broken or extra, I could bring it back because I asked him if I could, and of course he said yes , so I brought back one box and kept the other extra stuff and I was told when I got there that I was not able to return it because it was special ordered. No one told me that either. I hope this review helps somebody from getting burned like I did. read more

Connected with the Carpet Mart store manager to ask what options were available because I was very unhappy about waiting until mid-November for the product to arrive. I was given three options: switch to a different product that is available; discount; or refund. I went with the option to switch to a product that is available. I was told that the product will arrive at the store on Friday and they will call me with the install date. I feel a little better and just need to get that call on Friday. read more

I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to Joleen Lutz, an employee at the Harrisburg, PA Carpet Mart store. I was shopping for an area rug and had been in the store numerous times looking. She was always so helpful as I had many questions. I was considering 6 rugs that I had seen. I took pictures of them and left to think about them. After much consideration I was able to narrow my choices down to 2. I went back to the store to look at the one rug I liked best and for some reason the colors looked different to me. I was disappointed. I really thought IT was the one. Joleen said they'd drop both rugs for me so I could see them laying flat. I felt bad about having the warehouse employees go to all that trouble, but they insisted it was fine. So they dropped both rugs. After seeing them flat, I wasn't so sure about either of them! Because like she said, they looked different laying flat. She insisted I take them both. Try them. Return them the next day. (A shout out to manager James for approving this!). I agreed. NEVER thinking the one I loved the most would work, but I said I would try. I got them home, rolled them out and was very surprised the one I loved the most, but figured would NOT work was PERFECT! If it had not been for Joleen's suggestion and push to just take it and try it, I would NOT have even tried it out in the room. SHE absolutely was the one that SOLD me that rug! Hindsight is 20/20. I would not do business with this company if I had to do it over again. They told me they would not install tile I had already purchased because they could not warranty it. Fair enough, although the tile I purchased from them was IDENTICAL (same company and product number) that I already had. After the subfloor was laid, the crew leader, who I assume was subcontracted, called to ask for payment for the rest of the job, even though it had not been completed. We called the store, and they confirmed that he is to be paid at the completion of the work. The day the tile was to go in, they called to say that the crew had quit (after the crew was supposed to be at our house). They told us they could get it done two days later, and do it all in one day. They said they would show up between 9-10. The guy showed up at 7:30, before my wife was even dressed. Then, they hemmed and hawed about the little details that we showed them that they had originally agreed to do--they acted like they knew nothing about them even though my wife called the day before to confirm that they were being taken care of. When they showed up, they brought the wrong spacers. They also wanted me to sign a paper saying they would not warranty the tile they forced me to purchase from them, after telling me they would only warranty the tile if I purchased it from them! They said it was not floor tile, even though it was. (I had it installed in two other bathrooms with no issue, and it says floors on the box). When I mentioned that I told them it was for a bathroom floor, and that they sold me the tile, the guy just shrugged. Then, they said they could not do it in one day and it would be a two day job. It has been deception, lies, and twists and turns from the start. When they went to start the grout, the installer (another sub-contractor, but a good one) noticed that the grout was white, and asked if that was what we wanted, since the grout was gray in the other bathrooms. I had specifically picked natural gray for the grout while in store to match the other rooms, so they apparently sent the wrong grout in addition to all of the other issues. The installer had to go back to the store to get the proper grout. In the end, they did get the floor in, two days later than they promised. It looks great. But every little detailhad to be forced from them and negotiated. It has not been a smooth process. If you like stress, then by all means hire them. If you want a smooth process, go elsewhere! read more

Overall, We have had a good experience. However, for our most recent which was kitchen hardwood installation, the workers damaged our year-old refrigerator. The supervisor came and confirmed it was caused by the workers and committed to get back to us with a resolution. We never heard back after months. So, this has not been a good experience and every time I see the dents in the fridge, I get upset all over again. read more

We recently had carpet installed the very next day after we purchased it .Brian and Nick installed our carpet were excellent and very professional. Our carpet is beautiful and would recommend Carpet Mart 100% . We had a very bad experience at Big Bob's Flooring ....which we had ordered carpet and 3 weeks later were still waiting for them to install they never showed up never called and repeatedly lied to us..so when we went to Carpet Mart I was a little reserved about getting carpet but they assured me they would never do anything like that to their customers. Great flooring selection but absolutely awful installation experience. Installers never showed up on time and rarely returned to finish jobs without multiple phone calls. Charged an enormous amount of "direct installer fees" that were never disclosed to us and amounted to almost $1,000 additional charges that were never signed off on or outlined beforehand. Took multiple requests to receive invoices and paperwork for final charges and tried to require full payment before installation was completed. read more
