The workers were prompt. Their work was excellent. And the price was very competitive. I was particularly impressed with how they cut the laminate with great precision. That meant that certain spots that might normally have needed trim didn't need it. I will concur with others about the problems with store hours. In my experience at least, they were more a suggestion than a hard rule. It's best to communicate with Jay the day before to confirm that he'll be there, and I do mean less than 24 hours before. read more

We tried getting floors here with basically an open checkbook to get what we wanted. At the estimate and measuring appointment all we got was negative. All he said is we can't do that, we can't do this. Best one was this is to big of a job for us. By the time that guy left we were at almost $13k and wanted to put carpet in most of the house. We wanted laminate or wood throughout!! Well the wonderful company we hired would like to thank you carpet4less. If I knew it was ok I would say their name. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being discouraging, rude and a giant disappointment. We ended up with exactly what we wanted from a wonderful company. read more

The owner, Jay, was a pleasure to work with. On our first visit to the showroom, he took time to show us the many different types and qualities of carpets and pads. After, choosing what we wanted, Jay promptly came to the house and measured. I was given an exact quote later that day. The carpet arrived in less that a week, which I found incredibly fast given things are still very slow due to C-19. Jay was very accommodating in scheduling the install, even agreed to do it on a Saturday. The 4 man install team did a great job. I have purchased carpet before at one of the "big box" home improvement stores and regretted it. The so called professional installers did a terrible job. Although I provided a modest down payment when ordering the carpet, Jay would not accept the balance until the job was done and we were happy with the results. Most other places will charge the full amount up front. Bottom line: If you're looking for poor quality and crappy installation, go to one of the aforementioned box stores. However, if you want a quality product and a very reasonable price, with expert installation, go see Jay. read more

Peter and Jay are amazing! Customer satisfaction 100% is how they operate there buisness. There quality and honesty is like no other. Time for new carpets. We went to 3 places. Abbey's, superior floors and here. Alia greeted us as we walked in and immediately clicked. She was very friendly and helpful. She did a great job of listening to our needs and gave us a way more competitive price compared to the other 2 places we shopped at. The install was perfect and overall we are extremely satisfied with our carpet. I highly recommend coming here and giving them your business. Alia will take care of you! read more

Store hours need to be updated I stopped by today at 4:40 and the closed sign was on the front. Would love to have done business here.

We asked for quotes around the east bay area (Floor Store, Home Depot, Lowe's etc) and finally decided on Jay of Carpet 4 less. He is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He provided us with the information needed to make an informed decision. There are a lot of choices to be made.. but everything was seamless with Jay. From measurements, choice of materials and quotes. Everything was overwhelming for us but working with him made it easier. Communication is spot on. The materials installed is quality and the workmanship of the installation by his workers is great. All was done within the time frame promised (actually, they finished earlier than expected LOL). We had carpet removed from our home and replaced it with AC-4 Laminate. (Yes AC-4... i learned that from him ;-) ) I do not hesitate to recommend him to my colleagues and friends! Do consider getting a quote from him if you need any flooring work done. See how pretty my new floor looks!!!!! read more

We used them for a semi-flip in Antioch. The flooring they showed us originally in the showroom changed when we went back to sign everything and secure the install. We were on a time crunch so went along with the material and installation. The guys came by on time, got things done in a timely fashion. The price is right no issue you there - the quality of work on the other hand was not. Basically this worked out for our flip - you get what you pay for - I do agree with one other reviewer about their sales presentation left a lot to be desired read more

I got an in home estimate a few days ago from Peter. He was really friendly and very thorough. He didn't try to pressure me and was very personable. I did feel terrible for him that he was working on the 4th of July. When I spoke with Jay, he insisted that they come that day even though I told him it was totally fine to pick another day so he doesn't have to work. He sent his employee anyway. He took the measurements and said Jay would call me in a few days with an estimate. About an hour later, I got a call from Jay with the estimate. They were early! He gave me the total and said he could give me a $280 discount that was only good for 24 hours. I told him I wouldn't get back to him by that time because I'm still getting estimates. He then proceeded to try to make me feel bad for him because he worked on 4th of July. I told him I was ok with him not coming that day! I then asked him if he had anything cheaper than the samples Peter brought. He said he did but it's terrible and I wouldn't like it. Why does he sell carpet that is terrible then? He said the carpet is the one that flippers and realtors use. Apparently, Mike Fuller (whoever that is, maybe another realtor?) uses this carpet so I should use it too. Didn't like to sales tactics and did not like that Jay made his employees work on a national observed holiday when he didn't have to. read more

After getting many staggeringly high bids for new carpet throughout our home, I was lucky to find Jay at Carpet4Less who made me feel instantly that he could work with me on comparatively reasonable terms. So, not only were we able to afford to get it done, but the final results exceeded our expectations. They did a fabulous job and our home is virtually transformed. Jay was gracious, cordial, responsive, and helpful from start to finish. We could not recommend his business more highly. Thanks, Jay! read more

We have used Jay (the owner of Carpets 4 Less )3 times over the past 7 years. We can't say enough about the excellent work that his crew does. We had them re-do our entire 2900 square foot home in Clayton before selling our house. They did both laminate floors and carpet throughout. They are very experienced not only in they're finished work, but also how they move all of the furniture necessary to get the flooring done. After we moved, we've had them come 3 separate times to do laminate floors throughout our home we moved into 6 years ago. The 2 biggest projects were our master bedroom, kitchen, family room and living room. It was a big project. Both days they showed up on time and worked all day from 8:30-5:00. They also replaced all of our floorboards. Each of his workers had a job to do and they worked great as a team. Jay's prices were also much lower than the floor store Lowe's and HomeDepot. You never know what kind of quality work your going to get (especially with Home Depot or Lowe's. The installers that work at Carpets for Less are extremely professional and take pride in their work. They even took apart our Cal King headboard and frame to install the new flooring in our master bedroom. Not only did they put it back together, but they also hooked up our cable TV and made sure it was working before they left. When we had them come back for the rest of the house, they did the same. They even put thins back on top of our 2 hutches that I couldn't reach to do myself without a ladder. I highly recommend Carpets 4 Less for any flooring needs. The other thing we were able to get was a laminate floor with a vinyl coating. So if your pet wets on it or you spill something on it it won't warp like our old pergo floor did. We're very happy with everything Jays installers at Carpets for Less did! read more

Jay and his wife are the kindest people. I desperately needed my carpets replaced before my daughter and granddaughter moved back home after deployment. Jay was able to get it done for me when no one else was doing carpet installation during the pandemic. He was so safe by sending one employee to install my house and he wore a N95 the entire time. We kept our distant and our carpet looks absolutely stunning! I couldn't be happier! I will definitely use them for all my flooring needs in the future. Flooring installation was ok except for all the dust which took weeks to get rid of and the beer cans found in my cabinets. The hall way is squeaky but can't seem to get Jay the owner out here to check it and see what needs to be done. I guess I should of kept the large amount of money I paid him until we were satisfied. Been going thur a lot since we moved here and certainly didn't need this problem which is still not fixed. I wouldn't use them again good luck to you that do. read more

If I could give zero I would. Buyer beware. These guys are shady at best. I was trying to understand their breakdown of cost on our quote and my first question was simple. What was sq footage you used in order to calculate total cost. I was told that unless I gave them money down they would not release this info. What? In addition, they had the product we wanted marked at different cost then they quoted us. When I questioned them on this, they denied it. Needless to say, we went elsewhere and we were very happy with the professional representation of our current provider. read more

I will give 5 stars for our carpet and laminate installation. The whole process was excellent from selection up to cleanup their mess. We really got what we wanted and very satisfied. Much thanks to Jay at Carpets 4 Less. You were very helpful in providing laminate, linoleum and carpeting for our rental property. Jay went above and beyond service. He measured our home and had an estimate ready in just a few hours of us stopping in to his store. Received a quote on instaling floors. The gentleman who came out did a very thorough job measuring every room. The carpets in my 27 year old home were way beyond worn out and in need of replacement. New carpets are a major expense and something you are going to have to live with for a long time, you want to make sure you make the right decision. I had an idea what I wanted and a recommended brand but was far from making a decision. I found Carpets 4 Less, Antioch on line and paid them a visit. I met Jay and right away he explained what Carpets 4 Less had to offer; brands, quality, grades, styles, costs and company experience. He also carefully explained the benefits and weakness of the different types of carpets and grades. He asked about my interest, lifestyle, and what I expected from a floor covering. He knows his business, he quickly steered me to the quality and grade of carpet that would suit my needs best. I like to buy quality so when I found a carpet I liked I opted for the up grade version. Jay once again asked about my home, life style, and what challenges the carpet would experience. He then suggested I could get the up grade version if I wanted but I did not need to spend the money for the up grade. In my home the carpet would not be exposed to that much much abuse and the mid grade would be more than adequate. His recomendation saved me hundreds of dollars. Peter, Jay's assistant came out and measured my home, very carefully checking every room, closet and space that I could be carpeted. Jay pointed out he coud measure to use less carpet [less cost] but for a quality install all the carpet should run in the same direction and as much as possible seems should avoid high traffic areas. I went with the better install. I also asked for several unusual special requests relating to the carpet and install that were immediately granted. Later Jay called with the estimate and much to my surprise it was very close to his rough estimate the first time we met, inspite of the extras. On install day three carpet layers arrived a few minutes before 9 a.m. and immediately went to work. The new carpet was in and home was back to normal before 4 p.m. The carpet looks great my home looks wonderful! Twice in the month since the carpet was installed neighbors have had carpet cleaners clean their carpets both times I have asked the cleaners to give me a ball park estimate for cleaning the carpets in the future. Both have stated I bought a had quality carpet that was installed properly. If I need carpets in the future I will use Carpets 4 Less and will recommend them to friends and others. read more

I also used Carpet 4 Less to re-carpet a rental property. Jay recommended a brand that was a step up in durability and appearance from the entry level carpet prices that many people use for this kind of property, and gave me a good price. The job was very straightforward (remove old carpet, put in new carpet, no furniture or weird places to deal with), and the transactions was just as problem free. The people came on time, finished in 4 hours or less, and that was that. I got several compliments on the overall appearance of the place afterwards, and THAT was in part because of the carpet. read more

Carpet 4 Less provided friendly, professional service and advice and the installation process went smoothly and was completed in a timely manner. The carpet is beautiful, I am very happy with it. Jay is the man. I went through at least 10 quotes from contractors and home depot, Lowes, you name it. We were eating at the new bennihana knock off in the same complex. We see this little shop "carpets4less". My wifes all lets go take a look. We walk in there and Jay was on it. I told him i wanted dark and was looking at the laminate price. He laid out a ton of wood but we found what we wanted pretty quickly. So we signed up and DOH, the phone call we didnt want to hear. Its going to be weeks to get it. DOH... i was cool with it, my wife was not. She gave Jay a call and next thing i know, we are back in the store that day after work. He had just got a couple new vendor shipments of laminants and we were checking those out. Wasn't happening. Jay didn't have our original budget so I told him, hey show my that same wood in the engineered and we may step it up. Sure enough, we found it. At that point, we had moved up to a larger budget. =sigh= With that said, best move we made. First of all, the wood is phenominal. http://www.jfloor.com/product/product_detail.jsp?fid=274&productId=253 2nd of all, Jay's installers are not only 8+ years experience, if you have a kid, they don't mind the supervision by the kid and keeping them busy. My daughter just wanted to hang out and they were more than fine with keeping her busy and watching what they were up to while putting the floor in. Talk to Jay. High end floors or just carpets, he's obviously got the hookup on the pro's. Lastly, i walked in there and said Jay, all i have heard is I cant move your furniture, im not hauling your carpet away or im not doing your base boards. I asked him to do EVERYTHING for me. All he asked me to do is paint my new base boards so they can install them for me. Jay had me sold when he said "we'll do it all". read more

I absolutely love my new flooring! This was what I consider to be a huge job. I had ugly ceramic tile floors in the entry, hallway, kitchen, guest bathroom alcove, living and dining rooms. The tile was replaced with laminate flooring from Carpets 4 Less. The installers were amazing, only taking 72 hours to remove the tile and lay the laminate. It was a messy job as the putty underneath the tile had to be scraped up. The installer sent over two women to clean up the mess! How nice was that?? I also had carpet replaced in 5 bedrooms and a loft. In addition, I have a house full of large, heavy furniture that had to be moved. This was completely finished in 48 hours! I was amazed. Thanks to recommendations from Peter and Jay, I am very pleased with the flooring I selected. My 16 year old home feels new again, and the installation was quick, efficient and stress-free and at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend that if youre looking to upgrade flooring, you give them a call. They are the best! read more

Jay and Peter at Carpet 4 Less are awesome. My husband and I went in, knowing nothing about carpet. Jay took the time to go over the different types of carpets with us & the time to get to know us and what we were wanting. We were in a time crunch to get the carpet replaced - a preferable less than 1 week window before we moved our stuff into our new home. Otherwise we would be living in a cramped house keeping things off the carpet until install. Jay & Peter set up an estimate appointment to measure the entire area needing carpet and got us the quotes immediately. Once the decision was made on what carpet to get, they placed the order. The next day (which I am sure doesn't normally happen), I received a call that the carpet already made it to their warehouse and if they could install that day! I obviously said yes because we were moving the next day. Javier came that afternoon and worked hard until 8:30pm, getting done as much as he could. The next morning, Javier came back with a helper and they finished up without delaying our move. The entire process was very professional, was a terrific price and was installed beautifully. Thank you Jay, Peter and Javier for all you did - you took a load of stress off my shoulders and our new home looks beautiful. You guys rock! read more

I cannot give Jay a higher recommendation! Pricing and product aside, which were extremely reasonable and of the highest quality, it was a genuine pleasure and Godsend to work with Jay.
