This is a record store / gift store / studio owned by Jack White of the White Stripes and others…read more They offer tours of the studio, but they don't let you take your phone or camera with you during the studio tour. So I don't have any photos of the studio and offices, which is a bummer because there are so many neat things to see. I definitely recommend doing the tour, though! Our tour guide was Ben Blackwell, who is an executive at Third Man, a musician, and oh, Jack White's cousin! He's a cool cat and told us lots of stories about the people who have recorded at Third Man, and the things that have gone down. If you have a chance to get Ben as your tour guide, you will be in for a treat. The tour itself was a little under an hour. The Third Man shop is where you CAN take photos, and it's a good thing because there are also lots of interesting things to see in the shop, like White Stripes paraphernalia, a record listening booth, a Wax-o-Matic machine where you can make your own red wax guitar figurine, an area to play guitars, almost every record you can imagine on the Third Man record label, Maggot Brain magazine (which is published by Third Man Records), clothing, posters and lots more. If you're a White Stripes, Raconteurs or Jack White fan, you definitely need to stop in. It's so neat to be in a studio where all kinds of musical magic happens! And even if you're not, you might become a fan just by visiting.

Excellent selection of vinyl records, books, stickers, pens & pins, guitar picks, clothes (shirts,…read morejackets, and caps) some supplies for musicians & turn tables, etc. Store was clean and organized, there was at least one foot stool provided to help shorter customers see records on taller shelves. There were historical plaques and info about records and other items on walls. The staff was friendly.

If you love this place, then you totally understand the hype to it however, if you're like me and…read moreyou were introduced to this from another person who absolutely adores it, but you don't care for places like this you find it confusing. So this is a massive bookstore, music store, video store, toy store that specializes in buying used items and reselling them. So if you have an aversion to musty dirty used items, this is not your place. Which I happen to have. However, this is not McKay's fault. It is a great place to offload things you don't need and get a little cash on the side. I have a touch of sensory bias, which is why it's difficult for me to enjoy it. But I totally understand why others do. If you are planning on selling stuff, make sure you get there early. If not, when they open there will be a line not of people wanting to sell stuff just people wanting to get in there to check out anything new that came in the night before. It is always busy so do not expect to come and it not be packed. If that is an issue for you probably not your place. But a big plus is the parking lot is absolutely massive. You will find a parking spot regardless of how busy it is. And to that I give it five stars.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nashville/s/uIEoyOqj9k…read more I recommend buying stuff from here but in NO WaY should you sell them stuff! I brought a mini Mac in here to sell and try and get a fair price for. Not only did they lowball the hell out of me but they put a password on the mini Mac! I took it to another place to cell so I would get more money for it and I couldn't sell it due to their password. I called Mckays to get the password. These bums refuse to answer their phone. What kind of business is to LAZY to answer their phone! So I had to drive all the way back out to Mckays the lazy bums who won't answer their phones and get them to take the Mckays password off it! This wasted so much time dealing with this level of stupidity because they are to Lazy to answer Damn phone! Like I said, don't waste your time and it's these people!
