My husband had a stroke 4 yrs ago & doesn't like physical therapy; he just wants to lie in bed all…read morethe time. I'm caregiver, and I need to be privy to his treatments. PT at Riverside & TPMG facilities was great, but as soon as he finished, he just went back to bed. After 2 more years of lying in bed, doctor recently sent him to Pivot near Mary Immaculate. Therapist instructed him on an exercise, then left the room while he attempted to do it. He had problems, as it hurt & was hard for him to do, since he is so out of shape. He began hollering for her, and she eventually returned from wherever she went. As we were leaving, she told me I am never to come back, not even into the building. She was quite nasty about it. I guess she doesn't want anyone witnessing what goes on (or what doesn't go on, since she just walked away for awhile). I don't know if she assigned him any at-home exercises; he's not doing any, anyway. The other facilities had no problem explaining his exercises to me so I could supervise them at home. I found Pivot very unprofessional by banning me. He goes a couple times a week, but I have no idea what goes on there, and am not allowed to know.

After 2 months, I felt better, but not pain free. A week after my Physical Therapy was over, I had an MRI, which showed I had torn tendons that requires surgery. That's when it was revealed to me, that Amy had included in her notes that I was malingering! (faking) I guess that's what she came up with when her services couldn't get rid of my pain, instead of the fact, there could be a bigger injury. Also the therapy could have actually made it worst. I'm only giving the only star for there pleasantries.

I'm giving Bayside a two, because I love the therapists. I am sorry to say I am having an issue…read morescheduling an appointment. It turns out Bayside was never able to bill my insurance from when I saw them months ago. I've seen them in the past and they had no issues billing my insurance. I don't know what changed. There is an 800 number on my insurance card to call for these exact reasons. Instead, when I called needing more PT for a new issue, the main concern is my billing. It's Friday and I've been trying to get scheduled all week. I feel I am being punished, because they weren't able to bill my insurance correctly or contact me in a quick fashion to resolve. Also when I went to do my final evaluation for my last PT, this same individual told me a particular therapist didn't see any patients after 3:30pm. I know this isn't true, because I was doing therapy two times a week and saw this therapist seeing individuals with 4pm appointments. My choices are limited, but I am going to try a different PT service going forward.

First: let me state that I made a severely STUPID mistake, trusting words from others in my…read morestressed state, trying to find mom nursing care she needed. Second: This review is for the management and the facility building only. The nurses and CNA's here are TOP NOTCH! I noticed nothing but caring and compassion for the nursing staff. There are probably some of the top professionals in nursing at this place. Sadly, the management and the facility itself are in such disrepair that I can NOT give them more than one star (ant that star is for the staff!!!) I'm pretty certain I can describe management and physical facility at once: it is a wreck! We needed a weekend admit (because the admissions director demanded we move mom immediately, as demand for rooms was on the upsurge, and there would not be a room in two weeks (time i requested for the move). After several discussions stating I needed a weekend admit to assure I had the help I needed moving...and to get mom in before the beds were given away to others, the AD stated she would have everything ready, it would not be a problem. MOVE IN DAY: There was NO ONE to see us coming in. We walked right in the door, wandered around for a while, not a single person questioned why we were there. SCARY. We finally found the nurse, she immediately worked to get mom admitted, only then stating that she didn't have mom's meds, as they were just ordered that afternoon (facility had her list for over a week!! I had meds from her former Home, but this place wouldn't allow those to be used because of an "exclusive contract" with a pharmacy. WTH?? Mom needs meds to stay out of pain and alive!!! We were then taken to her room. Dirty, sloppily painted, and a former resident's belongings STILL IN THE ROOM!!! CREEPY. Not to mention, they paired mom with a night moaner. We were not informed that the residents of this place were basically all non-verbal. Important info to know (another lesson learned) Thanks to the Grace of God (and a good friend), we found a lovely facility the next day that was 10 miles closer and FABULOUS, the next day. WHEN WE TRIED TO LEAVE: The Admissions Director (AD) informed us that although mom was there for three nights, we would need to pay for AN ENTIRE WEEK!!!!! Again, WTH? So - if a resident dies on a Tuesday, they must pay until Sunday???? Surely NOT! When I had a conversation with the Nursing director, he basically agreed this was ludicrous. ( there was also. OTHI G in paperwork that stated this). The AD sent me yet another email stating that I would be billed for a week - at somewhere around $240/day.... (The lovely new place is $40 less per day - clean, freshly painted rooms, friendly management AND superior nursing staff!!!) Even with Notice of mom moving, the management bumbled the departure. With mom waiting in the car, they detained me for the better part of half an hour to "get paperwork and discharge papers ready". Thank Goodness it was unseasonably warm. THANK GOD MOM IS OUT OF THERE!!! This review in a sentence: Get rid of the management, clean and paint/update the place, it might be OK.until then, buyer beware.
