Been living in the area for three years, always in search of some good pizza since I come from a place that has far superior Pizza to anything around here however, I would say that the pizza here is the best I've had in the area And I do come back frequently. I especially enjoyed two pieces and a drink for lunch for 10 bucks. You cannot beat that, and the pieces are large and quite good. I would come there more often, but Walhalla is just a little bit too far for me to come by every week. Service is good as well. Regarding ambience, I would say they tend to play their music a little bit too loud, but that's the only thing negative I could think of. Keep up the good work read more

The owner/chef showed up late as usual and the one waitress his daughter was waiting tables. It got so bad that I had to call ahead to see if they are actually open when they say they are. I walked in to a full restaurant. Nobody had food because the owner showed up late again! They fired all waitresses and now only the daughter waits tables and she is a ray of sunshine. CPC has the best sub I've ever eaten! I'd put it up against any NY sub anyday. It's called The Italian Job and comes with the perfect sub roll, soft and chewy. Toasted with 3 meats, fresh mozzarella and a wonderfully dressed spring mix. The pesto mayo is wonderful! And the spring mix on top is generous, you may need a fork to eat what falls out of the sandwich. Always pleasant to visit this restaurant. Pizza is pretty darn good too but I keep coming back for The Italian Job! Only drawback is they are only open 4 days a week.. read more

Honestly, these folks were some of the nicest people around. Service is awesome. They food, well, it's pretty amazing. I love all the different choices. They are tasty as they are original. You have the traditional choices as well. I haven't had a pie yet I dislike. Tonight I'm leaving with a Greek salad and the Carolina mountaineer pizza. I also love the quirky fun atmosphere. Wow, what an experience. I was served a meatball sub consisting of sauce and a few burnt cold meatballs. I mentioned this to the waitress. She charged me full price. I was a shocked and I complained again. Seriously, three people came out of no where and threw me out of the restaurant and told me I was rude. It was crazy. It began to escalate. They actually scared me. I left and the cook followed me out and was yelling at me as I walked down the street. I'm upset. Sorry. Can only imagine how the staff might reply to this. So for the record. It was 6pm. I had 1/2 of a beer while I was waiting for my food. I was not rude. I told them the truth. It was a bad meal. We took a drive from Powdersville, SC and ended up in Walhalla. We wanted to try a local restaurant, as we strolled by CPC it smelled wonderful. After shopping local, we went back to CPC. It was busy at 2:00pm. We were seated quickly and ordered the dough nuggets and a Greek salad to start with. Both were excellent. Salad was fresh and had lots of toppings. Nuggets had lots of parmesan and butter. We ordered the Caroline Mountaineer pizza and it was fixed to perfection. Lots of toppings, crust had lots of flavor. Defiantly worth the stop. We visited this restaurant as part of our thru hike of the Foothills Trail and enjoyed two visits. Both times I had pizza and it was very good. Carolina Mountaineer Pizza was very meat and we enjoyed it with 2 canned beers that were ok. I would suggest getting the pizza with out the tomato slices as it was a little watery, but very good anyway. NEVER AGAIN! I had family visiting and thought that taking them to Carolina Pizza Company would be a good idea. The food was usually good. I wanted to show off part of Walhalla's pizza gem. However, upon entering with my family we went to the register to order as usual. There's a rude and unprofessional note on the register that makes reference to ranch dressing. It says that they don't have a ranch tree out back or something related to that. I was appalled and embarrassed that my family had to read such an insulting message. My family surely didn't expect that from someone in South Carolina much less the owner of an establishment. I will NEVER eat there again. I have better places to spend my money in support of businesses in the area. In addition, the food no longer tasted like it used to. The calzones we're hollow and barely had meat and cheese. The pizza wasn't anything special. I'm going to spread the news about this establishment so that people know how unappreciative the owner of CPC is. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but I'm seeing these clowns lying about the pizza on here, so I gotta stick up for this place. This is literally the best pizza I've ever had. I've had countless slices in NYC and all across the country, and I can honestly say: this one's my favorite. It might take a while to arrive after you've ordered (10 - 20 min), but it's well worth it and good things take time. The crust is thin and crispy, there's a good amount of sauce, and the cheese and toppings never disappoint. The rustic vibe is amazing and the service/staff is delightful: Any bad reviews you see on here are just from Walhalla's main demographic: grumpy old retirees that only like flavorless mash potatoes and grits. read more

WOW... INSULTED BY THE OWNER!!! Left with my wife crying... THE ABSOLUTE MOST PITIFUL DINING EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Chad, the owner, claimed rather pointedly that we came in on a prior Friday night and banged on the counter and demanded a table... Blah, Blah, Blah... took a table from seated customers.... Blah, Blah, Blah... (This went on for quite a while, with Chad getting in about 90 words to every 10 of mine) Now, I'm an old guy, but a very reasonable one... I have never pounded on a restaurant table with demands in my life. I have had concerns and misunderstandings with people before in my many years of dining... Never an exchange where the owner just refuses to listen... Never an encounter where the owner couldn't say something like "I'm sorry if we had a misunderstanding, you are a great customer, and we will work this out"; etc... Never an exchange where I was not given at least some benefit of the doubt... Perhaps I misunderstood. Maybe Chad was having a bad night. I have eaten there many many dozens of times. After taking a day trip to NC and embarking on a 7-mile hike, my friend and I were in desperate of some grub so after we filled up the gas tank, we stopped at the nearest place for some food. There were many fast food options in the area but we like to eat at local businesses to support their endeavors so we chose Carolina Pizza Company since they had decent reviews. The service was pretty typical of a small Southern town; hospitable and friendly. When we walked in, we weren't sure how the seating worked so we stood in line towards the counter to let them know we'd be dining in. After about 5 minutes, the waitress told us the line was only for to go orders and we could seat ourselves. They should definitely have a sign up when entering which says that cause there were other parties after us that did the same thing. The cook came over to greet us and took our drink orders. Yes, he was our waiter too. And I definitely got the feeling that it was a family-owned restaurant with the two gentlemen in the back making the dishes being the owners - I could be wrong. Anyways, I ordered The "SC" which is a Philly sub with green peppers and onions topped with Provolone Cheese. It reminded me so much of the way Publix prepares them and since it had been years since I've had one, I decided to satisfy my craving. I'm glad I did because the sandwich was banging. I ordered the half and truly believe I was given the whole. Or the whole size just might be that big! I don't know! It was didn't complain because I ended up eating both! Hehe! I was cursed at and insulted BY THE OWNER!! My pizza had very few toppings when I ordered almost 2months ago. I spoke with the manager/owner that day to see if there is a way to add toppings next time . He said to just ask for extra toppings. We thought we would give them a try again tonight. I called, asked for extra toppings, was told the 1 pizza would be $30, and I went to pick it up. When I got there, there were still barely any toppings. In a very nice way, I asked the cashier if I could order 3x toppings next time. She went to ask him (owner/manager), and he referred to me as a B-word and told me that he is tired of dealing with my crap every Fri. night and if I don't like his pizza to go to ****** domino's. I literally asked a simple question. I have never been in there before on a Fri., as far as I can remembe. I was appalled that someone in my hometown would treat people this way. I log on here to vent, and I find other reviews saying the same thing. It does NOT make me feel better knowing that this is a pattern for this dude. Evidently, he treats a lot of women this way. I've attached photos of my so called "extra topping" pizza, and also of screen shots of others' reviews. My wife and I visited Walhalla for our first anniversary and it was snowing so we thought getting a pizza would be easiest and would last us for a couple of meals. We were on our way to Domino's and we stumbled upon Carolina Pizza Company. Thank God we stopped and took a minute to go through the menu. We ended up ordering a couple of veggie subs and a large Tree Hugger pizza. That was one of the best veggie pizzas I've ever had!
