My only hesitation for pushing to five stars is scheduling. I had to call five times across three days before someone actually answered the phone. There was a voicemail option. I suppose they are so busy which is a good sign though. Next time I'll make my next appointment while I am still there.

We don't know whether he was removed from a home or came in as a stray, but thank you Lancaster County Animal Shelter for saving him. Astro is so sweet and he is now in a safe, loving, non-abusive home and has settled into a good life.

In the poorest county in South Carolina, these people are doing a wonderous job in taking in abandoned or feral animals, cleaning them up, getting them necessary inoculations and arranging for neutering/spaying. States with strict neuter/spay laws do not have sufficient orphan animals to fill the demand for adoption. Mostly the northern states, their shelters are anxious to acquire potential pets. We are part of an above ground underground railroad of animal transporters who move the animals to more northern shelters where the potential for adoption is much higher than in the southeast. It is very gratifying to pick up and load primarily these cats and dogs. They are scared and are soooo receptive to pets and kind words. We have different sized cages among our group for transport and bring towels for padding. The longest distance is under 100 miles so we make a day of it, or at least a lunch occasion. Everyone we meet is sincerely involved in taking care of these pets. The goal is to get homes for them rather than to euthanize any of them. A great effort and worthy of support. Certainly contributions are welcome in cash, food, cat litter, veternary care and supplies, dog beds, or padding and in volunteers. There are only two county paid employees. The rest of the effort is all volunteer.

The appointment was set for 8:30 am and walked in around 8:20 and was immediately brought to an exam room. The receptionist was super nice and welcoming. This is located in a business park so there are plenty of parking spaces to choose from. The inside was super clean and modernly decorated. They had plenty of treats located conviently around the office and exam rooms. The Dr. I believe it was Dr. Benjamin, and she was super nice and knowledgeable. She explained exactly what my dog needed and what she recommended. I loved that before I agreed to any treatment, medicines, etc., they offered to let me know exactly how much everything was going to cost before I accepted. They help you out, and if for some reason you can not get everything done right away, she let's you know what's more important now and what can wait. Extremely Disappointed with Training & Board Services!…read more My wife and I decided to use this facility for board and train because we love their Lake Norman doggy daycare location, it's fantastic. Unfortunately, our experience at this location was completely unacceptable. We spent nearly $2,000 for more than two weeks of training, and when we got our dog back, nothing we wanted accomplished had been done. In fact, our dog came home worse than when we left him. Our dog is very smart and food-motivated, easily trainable, so there should have been no issues at all with progress. We live up in Lake Norman, and the follow-up 15 min meeting is 1 hour away from us during the week with traffic, (trainer can only meet onsite mon-fri) Which my wife and I work so this is a huge inconvenience. When we asked if the trainer could meet at a different location or even come to our house, we were told it would cost $170. When we finally spoke to the manager, she said there was nothing she could do because, in her words, "they provided the services." This is a terrible customer experience, especially considering we are loyal customers who use their other locations. Bottom line: Do not pay for board or training at this location. We are beyond frustrated and feel completely ripped off.

I thought for a long time about whether to write this, but after reading other negative reviews here, I realized how important it is... because if I had read them earlier, maybe my cat would still be alive My cat was just a little over a year old -- young and perfectly healthy (the autopsy confirmed that). She had given birth only a month ago and was still nursing. To prevent another pregnancy too soon and for her health, we decided to have her spayed. But from the very beginning, we had doubts -- was her body strong enough for surgery? We're not veterinarians, so we couldn't know for sure. That's why we called the clinic in advance to ask whether we should spay her now or wait a bit longer. They assured us -- both over the phone and again on the day of the surgery -- that it was completely fine to do anesthesia, surgery, and even give her two vaccines on the same day, even though she was still nursing and had recently given birth. As a result, of course, her heart couldn't handle such extreme stress, and she died right there in the clinic We consulted several other veterinarians afterward, and all of them confirmed that they would never have agreed to the combination of procedures this clinic performed -- that it was completely predictable the cat might die from such a heavy load (a body weakened after giving birth, plus vaccines, anesthesia, and surgery all at once). They didn't even have an anesthesia report -- they said they simply don't keep one. But proper monitoring could have saved my cat's life. We blame ourselves deeply for this and regret blindly trusting the "professionalism" of others. Always listen to your heart, read reviews, and never trust 100% -- it's always better to get a second opinion. This hole in our hearts will never heal, and neither will the guilt of ever going to this place...
