I have adopted from them multiple times. They are truly amazing at what they do and these reviews…read moreare shameful. Just because you were declined for an animal for whatever reason, (which they have every right to do, they're not animal shelter or a pet store) doesn't mean you should complain about a NONPROFIT purely volunteer run organization. All these reviews are basically just saying that they either didn't respond fast enough to YOUR liking or they're saying that they're just angry and/or upset that they were declined in general. I want to point out that two or more people said that they were declined for puppies and the reason was about their work schedules. Puppies need 24/7 constant care, you can't just go to work and leave it with a relative or a friend. When puppies are neglected that's when they begin to act out and that's usually why people RETURN them!!! It's very important that a puppy is preferably with someone who either works from home or is home 24/7 ideally, having a "flexible" work schedule just simply isn't enough especially if there's another family out there that can offer them more than that. If you were declined, it was probably because there was a better option for that specific animal, and how is that anyone's fault/ these people's problem? Y'all are literally just upset about these again NON PAID VOLUNTEERS not catering to YOU specifically out of all the hundreds of applications they probably get. Truly shameful honestly. These people genuinely put so much effort and care into selecting the best homes for these animals and they don't get paid a single cent, yet some people are so entitled that they feel the need to make a yelp page just to complain like y'all are sad. If you want an animal that you can just pick out no questions asked without the proper vaccinations, and vet work then go to a shelter and pay for all that yourself. Feel free to also deal with all the ringworm, flees, emaciation, and all the other medical issues that goes along with that too, which a rescue like this always takes care of before they ever adopt out. Shameful behavior :( Reflect on your lives and attitudes.

Very rude and dismissive. They also refuse to adopt outside a very small radius despite calling…read morethemselves Carolina Paws. Should be more like the Waxhaw 30 mile radius Paws.

I'm going to go on a "thrift store review spree" one of these days, so I'm starting it off here. I…read morestopped in this Goodwill one day when I had dinner plans across the way at Lam's (delicious!). I arrived early and had time to kill so checking out Goodwill was a huge unexpected bonus! This Goodwill was like most, plenty parking, signage and goods! I lucked up on some super cute dresses and tops and only spent about $30 total. They had plenty of inventory to peruse and that I did. From furniture to clothes, to home decor, they definitely had just about everything. I'll most likely stop in here each time I visit Lam's just to make it a thing. Lil shopping, lil dinner, lots of happiness.

For the last many years, I have been a very regular and loyal patron of this Weddington Store. I am…read morethere almost daily and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars in this one store. I know lots of employees there and have befriended many of the other loyal patrons. Shopping at Goodwill has been one of my retirement hobbies and I have had hours of fun there. I even started a Facebook group entitled, "Goodwill Fun Finds", that has 9,000 members and is growing rapidly. Something happened to me today in the Weddington Store that needs to be exposed. As I often do, I brought my new 3 month old seven pound puppy with me. He was in my arms the entire time I was in the store and was asleep. He has never made one whimper and is loved by store employees and customers. He is well mannered and never meets a stranger. Unfortunately, there is another customer who frequents the store who brings his unruly and misbehaved dog. When his dog sees other dogs, he barks and becomes very disruptive. The previous store manager there, he would politely ask this customer to leave the store, which was entirely appropriate. Customers do not like to be surrounded by barking or upset dogs when they are shopping. Today, when that unruly dog saw my dog, he became unruly as usual. The assistant manager, Carol, approached the man with the misbehaved dog and told him that he needed to leave the store immediately. I was in another part of the store, minding my own business with my sleeping puppy in my arms. Carol came after me with a forked tongue and told me that I also needed to get out of the store. She told me that when one dog barks, all the dogs have to leave. I told her that she sees me every day and knows that my dog never makes a sound. I asked her if it was fair to throw the whole bunch of apples away if there is only one rotten one. She told me that if I didn't leave immediately, she would call the police. I told her that it wasn't my intention to leave and if she made me, she would never see me again in this store. She abruptly rushed to her office to call the police. Her tone, attitude and manner of talking with me was entirely inappropriate and unprofessional and I am quite certain, it is not the what GW would want to represent them in any of their stores. She approached me like I was a piece of trash. This entire conversation was witnessed by an employee, Lisa, who has also known me for years. It was also witnessed by several customers, all of whom were in disbelief that I had been treated in this manner. So, because I didn't want a confrontation by police, I left the store after I told a few of my favorite employees there what had happened and why they would never see me again in this store. I am in my sixties and have never been talked to as I was addressed today. I have seen Carol speak inappropriately to customers for years. She has never been welcoming to me and has never been kind. She is brash, loud, unprofessional, and radiates negative energy. I have heard many customers complain about her. When I posted a google review for this store today, I noticed there were multiple complaints about her. Why do they allow this to continue? I had a very successful high level management career for over thirty years. I have had a lot of experience and professional training in managing people and have a good sense of what is effective and appropriate and what is not. What is going on in that GW Weddington store is far from acceptable. The Ballantyne East Store is cleaner, more organized, and has friendlier and happier employees. The store manager is consistently kind, as is the assistant manager and the team leads. I would recommend this store over the Weddington store for many reasons. As long as Carol works at Weddington, I will never return. They do not deserve my business, or yours.

Although the playhouse is looking for a new larger location, my first time experience here was most enjoyable. We saw an archapelo group called IMPROMPTU who were excellent. 2 people wheeled in a small cart with popcorn and soda which I thought quite homey and mom and pop like. One gentleman held a 50 50 raffle, 1 $ a ticket for funds for the theater Parking was convenient as well as restaurants in the area. This show was $12 a ticket, a short intermission, about 11/2 hours for the entire show. Seating and lighting were adequate,. The performance made up for the plain ambience. The staff were very pleasant. I look forward to attend another show.

Small and intimate with seating on risers, so everyone can see the actors on stage. You are right there in the action. Actor's voices die out of their mouths due to the setting. Many of the actors spoke too softly to be heard or understood. They really need to SPEAK UP and PROJECT. Please!?!? Cute concession stand selling sodas, water, popcorn and homemade cookies. Price? One dollar each. Such a deal. Parking appears to be adequate. We arrived after dark and easily found a place. Looks like it is or was part of a school complex. Located in a hard-to-find area, so do a reconnaissance during daylight or use your GPS to find it the first time. A nice experience. Membership packages on ticket prices, senior discounts and youth tickets. Five plays are on the 2013 schedule. Been around since 1980, 30 seasons. Fun.
